Chapter 22: Fairy Dance
Kyle Leviticus
This is the day of the second part of the Dragon Knight’s Tournament.
Unlike before, this worthless tournament is now held at the coliseum of Guardian’s Haven. Everything is being explained to the participants while we, the twelve generals and the princess, sit with comfort on our chair here up in the stage. We all have a great view of the puny candidates above here.
The coliseum is filled with ignorant civilians and idiotic dukes who are here to watch the battles that will be held in this event. All of them are noisy, and I can’t stand it. If it wasn’t for Rudolf and Reina that will be participating in this very tournament, I would’ve gone home and played a little more with my precious Elumina.
But I have to endure. This is to have my plans gain fruition.
“Good morning, powerful Dragon Knights of the academy!” The emcee started. “This is the start of the second round of the Dragon Knight’s Tournament! As you all know, the second round will be bracket elimination, and will be fought one versus one! As for this whole tournament, we will still use the Shield Plates to determine the winner! Once the participant had their Shield Plates to zero, the battle will be over! So let us see who will be fighting who, in this battle!”
There was a humongous electronic board at the opposite side of the stage where all names and faces of the sixty-four participants are presented. The board shuffled all the profile pictures. Everyone started to have a pathetic nervous looks who are worried about their first battle, wishing that they wouldn’t face a strong opponent.
As for me, I don’t want Rudolf or Reina to face three people.
Number one is the man named Mark Anthony Octavius, also known as the Vesryn Pulse Canceler. He took down almost fifty of the Dragon Knights in the preliminaries, and rumors say that he can revert a dragon back to its human form just by stroking his halberd. I’ve seen him fight, and I know that his strength is on par with the generals.

Number two is the plebeian Cleru Neos. His swordsmanship is topnotch, and his knowledge about magical evocation surpasses the powerful wizards as of this time. His dragon is also an epic rare type, a Rainbow Dragon which only appears one in a billion.
And lastly, number three; Rudolf’s best friend Amphere Harrison. His sword skills are just average. His ranking is always low but he hides a great potential, which is on par with Rudolf. I can never forget the face of a man who defeated me years ago. And also, his dragonoid is the Crimson Dragonfly. He managed to fuse three dragons and summon a horrific creature in the eliminations.
He and his dragonoid are the biggest threat I could think of.
The computer screen finally showed the people who will be fighting each other. Luckily, Rudolf and Reina will not be battling those three people.
“First battle will be our beautiful student council president Reina Stephanie Fleuret vs. Raeghar Thornes”
The first two dragon knights who will be entertaining us audiences made their appearance on the center of the sandy arena. Their dragonoids followed after them.
Raeghar Thornes is not so well known on the academy. His brown hair was spiked like wolverine and he has these thick eyebrows that would be a reason to mistake him for a lion. He has a burnt tan complexion, and on his right arm is a tattoo of an anchor. He’s going to fight topless, revealing his steel-hard six pack abs. His dragonoid is a woman with wavy navy hair in a white dress. From the look of that dragonoid, I can already conclude his dragon type.
The two of them placed their Shield Plates to their left chests. The giant screen showed the two participant’s portraits, and below their faces are numbers which represents the power of their astral shields; percentages of their “lives”. Once a participant’s Shield Plate reaches zero, he or she will be out of the tournament.

“Ready?”
The two participants readied their weapons. Reina posed a fencing stance while glaring intensely at Raeghar, who is wielding a trident.
“Fight!”
“Activating Vesryn Pulse!” The two shouted. They never wasted any single second.
Raeghar’s blue maiden dragonoid transformed into a sapphire limb-less serpent with five set of fins. This dragon has two pairs of wings which made it capable of flying in the center of the arena. It has crimson red teeth capable of gnawing any types of metal. The very end of its tail is same as those of a shark. I knew it. It is a Deep Sea Dragon.
Reina’s fairy dragon flew upwards and made an echoing roar. Then the crown cheered excitedly.
“Ball of light, illuminate my enemy!” Reina pointed her sword. At that moment, light particles gathered on the tip of her short sword. Then all those light energy that was gathered transferred to her fairy dragon, Eva.
The fairy dragon unleashed a ball of light to the enemy. To counter this, the deep sea dragon unleashed a hydro pump from its throat. The water pressure of his attack is capable of drilling a cave in a mountain, but it didn’t do much in the fairy dragon’s attack.
There were consecutive balls of light that made it through the water pump. It hit the Deep Sea Dragon on its head and body which made it collapse on the floor. Then the Deep Sea Dragon reverted back to its humanoid form, unconscious and unable to continue the battle.
Reina then leaped forward to clash with the muscular deep sea dragon knight. Raeghar managed to block some of Reina’s fast hacks and thrust, but it chipped away his shield. 80%...65%...43%. He fell down on the ground when his shield was already 12% due to the impact of Reina’s latest stab.
“Hraaaaaaaa!!!” Gathering all his remaining strength, Raeghar stood up and charged to the blonde maiden. But his enemy…Reina already knew that she will easily win this fight.
Then Reina delivered the final blow. The end. What a disappointment, but the crowd kept going nuts anyway.
“The winner is President Reina Stephanie Fleuret!” The announcer shouted with enthusiasm.
Honestly I know that it will be a one sided battle. Reina may be weak against multiple enemies, but one versus one battle is her forte. She even made it on the first round unscathed. Her battle prowess in this arena is unmatched, even comparing to Rudolf. If I have to bet on someone winning on this tournament, it would be the student council president.
The other fights are just plain one sided, if not two idiotic knights fighting each other that prolonged this fight. Seriously, there are thirty two fights as of this day, and they are all doing a clown act. I wanted to play with Elumina, but I guess I have to endure it a bit longer.
The next battle is Rudolf’s. In the arena, the two knights stood in front of each other. His opponent is a blonde pretty boy who has green eyes. He emits a seductive aura for girls who wanted to get laid desperately. If I were to describe this man, it would be a “Little Estoff” since they resemble that damned terrorist.
His dragonoid is a twelve-year old girl who has black hair and eyes. She was wearing a black maid outfit. Maybe this gecko works under this pretty boy.
“Next battle! Rudolf Azregon versus Sherman De Froulle”
