《Immortal Apocalypse Marketplace》Chapter 25.5, A siblings day out

On his way home, with his super human reflexes driving and texting was no problem at all. He infact didnt even need to drive but as they say 'enjoy life while it lasts for game becomes boring after the win'. He kept one eye on the road and another on the phone and typed out
"I got the phones you wanted but you must prove to me you wont scam me like that friend you caught."
He then giggled a little and put his phone on the dashboard, he then put on a song and just drove in a relaxed manner. A few minutes later the phone vibrated and he picked it up, the reply made him smile.
["Yes indeed, Even a mega dummy like you can think huh as a reward sure. I will throw in lets say snow flame seeds, these lovely babies can be used to make hot fire that are perfect for cauldrons and smithies, should be sincere enough for a giant mega big fat dum dum dummy like you right?"]
Alex thought for a bit, he could probably make hotter flames over time but oh well free stuff is free stuff right? He put the phone down again as if to give the illusion he was thinking and began to sing along with the song.
Life really was enjoyable without stress. He made a sharp cut and stopped by a cafe, this cafe had the best snacks from what he knew.
He then texted Laura that he would be late today and that he will be taking a short break. He did not forget to mention that she should also take a small break.
He then ordered some snacks and picked his phone up to type.
"Alright, but please send the seeds first so I know you arent just giving be fake bait"

A quick and simple message, perfect for a 'dummy' that the other side thought him as. He received confirmation and soon the seeds were sent. He was in a public place so he automatically teleported the seeds to an isolated dimension as soon as they appeared, he didnt forget to add a marker to them so they could be taken out of there.
He then sent a quick reply.
"Thanks for the freebies retard, My app sells the skill for way less. Oh the guy you got yours from didnt tell you that huh?"
That felt relaxing, the other side had been cursing him out for ages and it finally felt like he took revenge. Whoever said revenge was pointless is a retard, it doesnt gain you anything but it sure as hell is satisfying.
He then put the phone down after reading the other sides angry reply. It even had a short clip of him threatening to destroy Alex and them blowing up a nearby mountain.
'Find me first then'
Thought Alex as he put his phone down while rolling his eyes. The notifications kept pouring in but Alex was having a relaxing snack, he thought about the movie earlier and decided to go there once the google introduction scheme was finished. Perhaps he will even invite Amelia, he hadn't talked to her a lot lately so he decided he would finally get in touch again. He, Laura and her could watch the movie and hangout like normal teens their age.
He also intended to shock her with his new appearance, thinking of that gave him a very large smile which creeped out the waiter who brought him new snacks.
'Better make sure he doesnt dine and dash'
He thought as he frowned and put down the food.
Ignorant to the waiters thoughts Alex just started humming and eating, once he was done he just drove home to find out from his mom that Laura had gone to the moon.

'I dont know whats stranger, that or the fact mom said it like she was just going on a picnic. Thats actually pretty likely thinking about it.'
Common sense was now a distant memory for the family and if his dad didnt want to 'be a burden on children he was barely with before' he probably wouldnt even need to work.
He accepted her reply and went back into his room to tweak his created app a bit.
On the moon, Laura was doing exactly what Alex had thought. A picnic, she wore a bikini and was just soaking the sun while eating sandwiches.
She had brought her phone so she was also listening to her favorite type of music, Heavy metal which completely ruined the relaxing or otherworldly atmosphere this picnic was supposed to have. On that note Alex preferred alt rock or pop.
Laura looked around and once again realized 'I am on the moon'. Without a space suit, in clothing that barely protected from the UV rays. A surreal experience for anyone yet she was so nonchalant about it.
She stood up and did a little dance just for the sake of dancing on the moon, her realization once again made her happy with how her life had changed and made her look forward to the days that would come. She thought
'The earth really looks weird from up here, I bet the flat earthers would deny moon landings even more if they saw me like this.'
Well she would be surprised if any of the surveillance happened to find her. The moon is basically too large for such a coincidence to just happen.
She then played around with her powers by breathing fire in the shape of a butterfly, throwing rocks at the satellites, killing al- well maybe not the last one. She finally relaxed and all the tension eating away at her all this while just flew away, soon she returned home.

The Last Science [SE]
[SE has the same content as the original story, split into smaller chunks for easier reading. This story is on a temporary hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I work in healthcare and unfortunately no longer have the freetime to continue posting on a regular basis. As soon as our workload decreases, I will return. Thanks for reading! 💙] No one ever knows the whole story. Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the fading town of Rallsburg stumbles upon an amazing discovery—magic itself. Faced with potentially world-shattering power, the people of Rallsburg keep the secret for themselves. Led by Rachel DuValle, a perpetually underestimated college student with grand ambitions, they seek to found a new society. The world beyond suspects nothing, but magic cannot stay hidden forever. A train arrives in Rallsburg carrying Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate. To him, magic could represent meaning for his life, an explanation for his empty existence. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever—or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series, focused on the modern world with a twist. New societies bud and grow, but the people who make them up are imperfect and flawed. The story includes elements of mystery, action, crime, interpersonal drama, relationships, philosophy, sociology, politics, and much more, all centered on the perspective characters driving the tale. This is the "Scraps Edition" of the story, where the chapters have been split up into bite-size chunks (roughly 1500-3000 words), for your convenience. The prose has been edited from its original form, with some improvements, but there are no content differences from the original. New chapters will be posted throughout each week starting on Friday and appearing on multiple days thereafter, depending on the length of the chapter. Content Warning (by request): This series delves into some topics and situations which may be upsetting for some readers. In American rating parlance, the narrative would be rated PG-13 (except for language), but some have noted the story can get pretty dark on occasion. Please use your best judgment, and don't be afraid to take breaks and come back later. I'll still be here! [Discord] - come hang out and chat! Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]
