《Tremors Of Time: Spirit Gauntlet》Chapter 17 Sarok

Thinking about how I got here won't help me. So let's get up. I mentally berated myself and with a lackluster determination I somehow stood up. Now steady on my feet I look at my situation. I have a hurridly drawn map of the surrounding area that looked like a 3-year-old made it, A sword that seemed to radiate useless secrets, a rock that exists just to spite me, and to top that all of I have a rotten torch. The only good thing about this is that I have had a level up so that restored my waves and health, and a crap ton of stat points.
I wanted to save them later once I've thought of a good build but screw that. When a crisis comes you got to do something, and if that crisis is me pissing my pants in fear so what, it's still a crisis.
Without further ado, I will use a long forsaken magic and that rid the world of a great enemy years ago. Thrusting my noble hands behind my sexy back, I crouch down in a way that I exuded ferociousness on a molecular level and began my ultimate technique."Sttttaaaaaaa Tussssss," I take a deep dramatic breath and crouch down even lower and draw my hands back even more for my finish. "SSCREEEEEN," In an extremely non-climatic way, the status screen popped up in front of me as if mocking me for my blatant plagiarism.
Here I was hoping for some kind of secret way of opening the status screen. A notification popped up in front of me blocking my view of my status
Skill gained from Actions Idiots Persona Beginner Level 1 Description: By constantly acting like a fool you're able to gain the skill fools act that helps to confuse enemies. Effect: Enemies will have a 10% Chance to be stunned in confusion. Stun lasts for 2.5 seconds.
The feeling as if the entities behind the screen was mocking me came back. Without flinching in embarrassment I turned the notification off not sparing a brief second to comprehend the message.
Name Excel Gauntlet Race Sentient Gauntlet Class Health 30/30 Wave 125/125 Durability 6 Ap 18 Strength 3 (+10 ) Vibration 15(+10 ) Defense 8 Agility 4 Active skills Bond {} Sonar Begginer level 2{} Materialization {} Influence Begginer level 1 {} Slow Touch Begginer level 1{} Absorb begginer level 1{} Wave Inspect Begginer level 1{} Wave Resistance Begginer level 1 {} Idiots Persona Beginner Level 1 Passive skills Avatar summon {} Material Evolution Equipment Avatar Ring {} Vibrations Ruler
Well, would you look at that I have 18 points saved up, and from I've saved up I can do a whole lot. Grinning like a madman I look at my stats to find the best build I can think of. It seems to be that every point of vibration is 5 waves and every point of durability is 5. I should put some more in vibration but look at the pitiful amount of physical stats I have I should do that last. With those thoughts in tow, I Increase my strength by 5, durability by 5, and agility by 3.

Now time to dump all my points in Vibrations. Pressing the increase button 5 times my vibration raises to 20, raising my waves to 100. I'll never run out of waves at this point, little imps beware because your daddy is here to give you a present. Opening my inventory with a swagger of self-confidence I pull out the roughly drawn map to get a view of the dungeon, just a few more long turns till I get to the second-floor entrance and from my game knowledge, the floor boss and relic will definitely be there.
I put the map back in my inventory and walk with a quiet pace to avoid any fire imps that would come. Walking through the labyrinth-like dungeon while being constantly on guard with my new found power, gave me a cocky feeling. Taking in the scenery, it looks like I'm in a horror movie with ghosts. An abandoned jail cell no doubt filled with the stories of the innocent and depraved, crawling with abominable monsters that exude the aura of destruction. Hey, that really could be in a movie, that means.... I'm a genius!
Using my thoughts to escape the dread crawling up my spine. Hearing a distinct scratching smacking the timeworn floor, with utmost vigilance I draw my sword preparing for the worst possible situation. My mind was spinning with possible situations of what the sound could be from when a human-like hand covered with was one probably beautiful white fur turned into a filthy and unkempt gray color fur and short razor sharp claws that were clearly used for something else than picking teeth appeared.
The 5 fingered paw was followed by the owner of the fear that completely enveloped my rapidly beating heart. With the beast now in full view, I could see its fur doused with dust and blood. The blood was of both the fresh and dried kind but no matter what I looked, the blood definitely did not come from the beastman himself. The thick fur couldn't suppress the bounds of muscle underneath, only increasing the intimidating demeanor given off.
Its eyes beady, covered in black, if it was closer I would have seen that its eyes were like a window to its soul DEAD. The wolf beastman was covered in ancient rotten iron chest plate, gauntlets, greaves, and some for its feet. His head looked to be long ago dead pieces of skin still sticking to the skull, but when it lifted its head I felt as if the god of death has descended on earth setting his eyes on me.
You have been intimidated Your stats fall by 10%
Holy crap if it can do this how am I possibly gonna kill it. It's only a game, I found myself repeating "it's only a game" which surprisingly calmed me down. Only to regain the fear by a notification
You have been found by a hidden boss Since this is your first time meeting a hidden boss, you will be given free information Name Sarok HIDDEN BOSS Race Undead Wolf Beastman Health 600/850 Level 12 Vitality 170 Strength 50 Intelligence 22 Defense 14 Agility 45 Active skills Killing Strike Passive skills Living Intimidation Equipment Hostile Everything
This doesn't look good for me, his stats are completely overpowering mine. Thankfully I have my sword or I don't know what would have happened. Sarok takes a small slow gait which served to increase my terror. Alex, you have faced down things worse then this you can fight a virtual opponent. For crying out loud the thing doesn't even exist. You can do this. With just those few words I felt my strength return to me and the fire in my eyes lit. Time to kill another wolf, wait isn't it already dead, that's not the point. I awkwardly draw my sword and silently cast Influence choosing the bonus to strength. A rush of power filled me and with that, I rushed him to catch this monstrosity off guard.

I screamed out slow touch and charged my sword at his head for a one-hit K.O only to be swiped away like an annoying fly. What was once a being called Sarok charged at me and rose its rotted arms almost slicing my arm off if not for Slow touch's ability. I rolled off to the side thankful for my raise of stats and once again charged at Sarok this time aiming for one of his arms to disable him and give me a fighting chance. Dashing with my feet going as fast as I could my sword slashed at its arm, Ruler met its target and ripped it off only to once again be in action trying to guard me against Sarok's next attack.
I deflected Saroks strike only to have him smash my rib cage with a kick. I was pushed down to the ground and with no chance of recovery and defeat imminent. The Sarok once again rose his great sword in the air convincing me that I have no chance. Seeking even sliver of hope I roll out my tongue and started to sing while shaking my head back and forth. Sarok stopped his sword only a few inches from my throat.
Idiots Persona Activated Stun Effect has been placed on Sarok for 3.0 seconds
I aim my eyes on the chest area where there was a large purple crystal. That must be whats keeping him alive if I destroy that I destroy him. With Instant comprehension thrust my sword with unanticipated speed. Sadly It wasn't meant to be for the stun effect was gone thankfully I still shaved off the majority of the crystal.
-436 health dealt to Sarok
Damn It I was so sure that would have killed him but it seems likes not dead yet. With only 164 health left on Sarok, I started to regain some my confidence and slowly jumped back to save some time to relax now seeing no need for me to use up all of my energy all on a half-dead enemy. This occasion proved to teach me something because the second I relaxed my body the skeleton's sword turned red in an instant and with unprecedented speed thrust straight at my ribs going through it with ease.
-50 Health
Jumped back with a grunt and with only 5 health left I was no finding a new meaning into caution. "Why did you have to do that," I screamed at the unfeeling monster. Seeing no chance to attack him without losing the rest of my life points I choose to take a point. Pulling back my arm and aiming at the crystal floating in the undead chest I mentally picture when to shoot. The monster once again starts running towards me and once he was almost upon me I finally threw my sword.
- 174 health dealt to Sarok You have killed Sarok the Undead Wolf Beastmen Slow touch Leveled up Level UP X2
I relaxed my body finally done with the hidden boss. With a surprising enthusiasm, I reach out and touch the boss. "loot," I said anticipation building up as I watched the now pixelated body disappear into oblivion, leaving behind the treasured objects. The first thing I laid my eyes on was a small bag filled completely with something, when I opened the bag a notification appeared causing me to burst in smiles.
Siver X35
Now I got some more money and I can buy some armor to give me more battle potential. Now I look at the second object laying in my view was a gorgeous bottle made of glass but what was inside was more important. Inside the bottle was a neon red liquid I with my game knowledge knew this was only one thing.which I didn't need right now but definitely something I will need something later.
Health Potion minor Restores 100 health
With my level up this is something I won't be needing right now but it'll definitely be useful when I'm fighting the boss. The next and final thing I found was a medium book, the book seemed to glow with a silver tone. Reaching out to touch the enigmatic book I place my fingers on it only to find it was wrapped in a layer of dust which I then proceeded to blow away. Only to reveal a dazzling silvery light that lit up the hallway much better than even the torch
Found rare skill Killing Strike book Would you Like to learn skill Y/N
It seems to be the skill the hidden boss was using when he chopped my hand off, this would definitely be a great thing to have in my arsenal. Deciding that there was no problem with choosing yes, I clicked on yes. The book soon disintegrated into pixelated particles but unlike the boss slowly melded with me in an effort to fuse. Watching this process I was spellbound by its beauty. When there where no pixels left I said status to see the results of my hard work.

I have 8 points I would like to put it in strength, but if this has shown me anything its that if you can't escape your opponent your dead. I pressed agility 8 times raising it to 15 points causing my speed to almost double. Now that leaves me with my new skill, I click on Killer Strike.
Killing Strike Description: After one has faced many battles they will come to either enjoy living on the edge or crumble from the pressure. This is the skill that is cultivated by those the enjoyed it. Effect: Agility increased by 10% and Strength increased by 15% Cost: 2 Vibration
This is exactly what I need for a killer move and whats better than killer strike. After closing my status screen I once again begin my voyage to the boss of this floor. This time, even more, stronger than before. After around 5 minutes of 3 more surprise visits by now familiar imps, I gained three more useless rocks and at the end of it. Stepping into a room with a door that was covered in enchantments probably to fortify that are destroyed by age. I guess even the dungeon couldn't keep these intact. I touch the door only to be frightened by a startling notification.
Would you like to enter the boss room of floor 1 Y/N
What a no-brainer what else would I do when I've reached this far. Clicking yes the door opens.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]
