Zed now knew a bit more about the world he is in and what he could potentially face.
He picked up 2 deodorant that apartment in the apartments just in case he encounters something like that again.
Lucky he found a traditional Japanese culinary knife in that bug infested man's room as it was a combination of a cleaver and chefs knife and it was really well made. Most likely the man was a chef.
It was even of uncommon quality.
Shun classic knife Type Weapon Rarity Uncommon Damage 10-35 A knife made of VG-10 stainless steel has an excellent durability that is hindered by its chisel grind which requires constant maintenance needed to keep the edge
Zed left the aparment complex now in a much better mood
looking around he could lot of other apartment complexes that didn't interest him much as he started to look for more people.
It didn't take him long to run into some trouble.
'what is up with me and big cats?' A black cat was standing in front of him if you could call it that now. It looked more like a lynx than a cat now with its superior size compared to a regular cat.
The street cat only seemed to look at Zed for a brief moment as it disappeared in the shadows of the city.
'So is it just a bit bigger cat?' Zed pondered as he didn't notice the intelligent glint in the cat eyes as it left.
the city was really empty, but there seemed to be some movement around him just in the corner of his eyes.
'Is that a gunshot?' Zed picked up the sound of gunshots in the distance he could just barely hear it due to how quiet the city was.
He picked up his pace as he followed the sound of the gunshots.
A man holding a handgun was shooting a bunch of dog-sized rats as they swarmed them while being protected by 2 other men holding fire axes.
they were wearing sports gear that seemed to do its job and protect them quite well.
The horde of rats became more and more as time passed and you could see the panic on the gun mans face as he kept shooting the rats most likely his bullets were running out as he had gone through 3 magazines already.

all of a sudden a giant of a man bursted out from an alleyway drawing attention to him as he rushed in holding a knife slicing and kicking rats ending their lives as he closed in on the men.
At first, they were intimidated by this wild-looking man but as soon as they saw how effective he was they rejoiced and attacked the rats with new spirit.
Rad touched rattus Health
30 A rodent contaminated by the radiation of the meteoroid
Lethal attack target dies was popping up and fading away as Zed killed the rat horde that surrounded the men.
The horde soon retired as the loses increased.
The man with the gun was first to speak "Hey there stranger, Thank you for helping us!"
He had a bit of a Russian accent that Zed could barely pick up.
"Don't mind it, we humans need to stick together to survive this crisis."
The biggest one of the axeman spoke up. " True that brother, Names Gorge" he reached out his hand to a friendly handshake.
"Zed, So what are you doing out here" Zed shook his hand as he did his best to ignore the text message that popped up.
Homo sapien Health 60 The ingenuity and adaptability of Homo sapiens have led to it becoming the most influential species on this planet. One that enables the best and the worst in living creatures.
The other 2 had only 50 health.
"The shelter is already starting to get low on food with so many people so we scavaging out here." The big man seemed quite talkative but even if others would call him big he was still 10+ centimeters shorter then Zed
"Ey stop with the chit chat we need to collect these rats before other monsters are drawn to the blood!" The gunmen stopped Gorge from talking more as he ordered to collect the rats.
"let me help you guys." With that Zed become part of there little group. It seemed simple, but in fact, there were many little things that influenced him joining this group so easily.
'huh, what is this?'
Ring of the Rat Type Accessory Rarity Uncommon A shabby ring engraved with the rune of digestion that has a small effect of helping you digest substances better.

This Ring was in an ugly brown color and with a reddish brown drawing on it that kinda looked like an inflated reversed C with some tubes coming out from both ends.
Zed quickly pocketed the ring as he helped the men put the rats in a giant trash bag.
He chatted with the man and learned that the gunman was named Daniel and the quiet axeman was Henry.
They had a shelter in a supermarket where there were over 1 thousand people.
The leader of the there group seemed to be a retired General of the army and he had sent out some capable men to go scavenge the surroundings and bring back the dead monster corpses.
As they kept chatting he learned that the general had a mysterious ability to predict attacks since they had seen him battle and it was simply legendary they said as he didn't get hit once by anything in mids of gunfire and monsters.
'Could the man be so skilled or is it an effect of the radiation?' Zed wondered as they travel to the supermarket.
What greeted Zed was a building that had boarded window with almost no resemblance to a supermarket.
As always Gorge was first to speak up.
"We will introduce you to the General and I'm sure he will accept someone so capable in our shelter." Gorge resued Zed as they arrived at there destination.
They moved unhindered by others as they took the stairs to reach the highest floor of the supermarket.
As they moved Zed observed the supermarket it seems to run on its own generator as electricity wasn't working in the apartments he went in, but here it was completely fine.
The people seemed relaxed as any problem that they had would be resolved soon enough.
Daniel with a very politely knocked on the door and soon a man with a very rough and deep voice said. "Come in."
A spacious office greeted Zed as he went in with a couple of couches facing a desk where a man sat eating what looked like almost raw meat creating a strange smell in the air.
He had a clean bald head with a clean shave, you could see that he had a good build even in that fancy suit he was wearing.
Zed could feel the aura of a man that has killed a lot of other humans from him call it natural instincts that every human has against danger.
Rad touched Homo sapien Health 117 The ingenuity and adaptability of Homo sapiens have led to it becoming the most influential species on this planet. One that enables the best and the worst in living creatures, But how will the Radiation affect it?
Zeds suspicions where confirmed as a small text popped up as he looked at the general.
We were all standing in front of the desk as Daniel was first to speak.
"General this is Zed he saved our lives when we were swarmed by a horde of those rats."
The General picked up a knife and cut a piece of meat that he put in his mouth and slowly ate it as it looked like he is enjoying the taste greatly.
"How many rats were you able to kill?" He looked straight in Daniels' eyes making him fidget a bit.
"Sir we got 54 Rats together!" He answered in a much clearer English than before you couldn't even hear his accent anymore.
"mhm, Good job." He cut and ate another piece of meat.
"Show him where is room 317 that is the room I'm awarding him for saving your lives." He took another bite of the meat that was on his table.
"As for the reward of bringing so many rats back you all can pick 1 item from the storage." He wrote something on a piece of paper and stamped it afterwards handing it over to Daniel.
"Thank you General!" With that our little group left the Generals office.
"Man this is great we can get some really nice stuff from the storage thanks to you Zed!" Gorge as always started chatting as soon as they left the General office.

The Voice of the World
Jason Elric used to be an ordinary college student living in the heart of San Francisco. He had a part time job, he played online games with friends he got along moderately well with, and he earned reasonably good grades. The worst he really had to worry about in life was turning in his coursework on time and not being late to class. Now, though? Now fighting for his life and running from a horde of giant frogs that want to make him their next meal is just another Tuesday. Thanks to a summoning ritual gone terribly right, Jason has found himself trapped in a world eerily similar to the role playing games games he used to play for fun. Unfortunately for the now ex-college student, everything happening around him is terrifyingly real and if he wants to survive, he’ll have to figure out how to exploit the system for his benefit before it’s too late. The Voice of the World is the first part of what is planned to be a multi-book, Isekai LitRPG story with crafting elements, set in the fantasy world known as Verdania. This is my first time posting online for public consumption, so bear with me as I work to find a style that people like. While I may occasionally write scenes that may deal with heavy concepts, expect this story to be primarily light hearted high fantasy. There will be a lot of common fantasy tropes involved, as this story got its start as a simple practice exercise, rather than any plan to actually post it. However, it’s grown on me, so I felt it’s worth sharing after all. Thus, if you’re looking for more serious/original/unusual stories, you might want to look elsewhere. For the rest of you, feel free to leave suggestions, as well as to point out grammar and spelling mistakes; I’ll do my best to make edits to correct them. I do my own editing currently, and it’s easy to miss things when you know what’s supposed to be there, so such call outs are highly encouraged. Content TLDR: No harems, probably no romance (unless it makes sense for the story later on) (it did, eventually), definitely no sex (keeping this PG-13 or close to it), limited profanity. Does/Will contain mixes of magic and technology (think Warhammer, Final Fantasy); copious amounts of blue tables; race, gender, and sexual equality concepts; crafting sequences; and (slightly, but not overbearingly) strong protagonists. If you don’t like these things, go elsewhere instead of downvoting people for content instead of writing quality. Update Time currently varies, due to personal injury, but the goal is 1/week on Wednesdays, with a possible smaller chapter on weekends if time/health permits.

Out of the Blue
Spring: the chrips of the birds, the blooming of the flowers, and the gentle patter of the rain. Ah, what a beautiful time of the year! When students look forward to the coming summer vacation, when lovers rejoice under the sprouting trees, and when monsters rampage across the planet, but of course this would be autumn in the southern hemisphere. Thus is the peaceful life of our protagonist shattered as game like elements and otherworldly denizens intrude upon an unsuspecting Earth. Armed with nothing but his modern sensibilities and urban constitution, he will have to face a world brimming with encounters - both monstrous and otherwise. For those who are confused, this is one of those RPG Apocalypse stories.

Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).

The Girl with Scales and a Sword
This is the story of a girl who ends up with scales and a sword. Yup. There you have it folks. Slice of Life is the key intended genre. This is literally going to be a running commentary of a girls life, especially as it relates to adventure and action This is going to be a continuous work, as I intend it to be a side project while I work on other books more decidedly, and I intend to rework chapters often, because I want this both to be a break from other titles, and a learning experience. I'm going to be trying to get a lot of people to comment on chapters so I can grow as a writer. So if you want to read, please do! and comment if you feel generous. Just keep in mind, releases will likely be veeeeery far apart. (Note: I try to put out a chapter a month, though that doesn't always happen depending on school, work, and generally how well I'm doing, energy-wise)
