《The Divine Mortal》Chapter 18: Conqueror of the Abyss Inheritor

Roy entered his wooden house and lay on the bed.
“The Divine Domain?? Where is that? Great Lord?... just who might that be?" Roy felt extremely perplexed.
He knew that the world was vast. Just the Supreme Sword Sect alone was bordered by more than 20 other small sects, and cities. However, he didn’t know of any Divine Domain.
However, this was not important at the moment. What was important was that Roy guessed that he had been reborn again and received good luck.
He was feeling extremely excited. This was unprecedented.
However, he wanted to confirm what had happened.
He began to practice the Body Refinement Technique.
This was a technique that he’d obtained from the system a few days ago when he was still in that forest. The technique wasn’t anything too good, given it was only a mortal grade.
The effect of this cultivation technique was the strengthening of the body, and when the tendons and bones within the body were trained to a certain level, a trace of Profound Spiritual Qi would be absorbed. With this Spiritual Qi, one would be a true Cultivator.
After a moment, he realized he couldn't utilize it.
"Huh, I thought this legacy in those dream was real?" he dejectedly muttered to himself. "It turns out that was merely random dreams!"
This sentence belied untold bitterness and regret.
...
In the next day
Roy used the remainder of his days off to go to the burial ground on the hillside and guard Old Wang's grave.
"Uncle Wang, I'd like to take a walk at Blue Leaf Valley to relieve boredom." Each day, Roy would head out of the wooden hut early in the morning. Whenever he was going somewhere, he would come to Old Wang's grave to pay respect and affection for him.

The reason why Roy was so anxious to go practice somewhere was that he had realized that apparently what caused yesterday's uproar was the fight between him and that external disciple, but he was totally oblivious!
I was unconscious the entire time! How could I fight while sleeping!
It doesn't make any sense!
"Strange," he muttered. "I have asked the system about this matter, but it didn't have any answers aside from an emotional spike caused by instability within my bloodline."
"I don't even know what my bloodline is." he showed a thoughtful look.
"Come to think of it, the first time I pass out was..."
"When I was in a fight with the geeze- I mean the Sect Leader." because the obscurity of the events, he thought the geezer to be the Sect Leader of his as if it was normal despite there had been no confirmation.
Ah!
Some speculations struck his head.
"Could it be that the Conqueror of the Abyss book's inscriptions had caused all of this?" he remembered the moment system's notification warned him of the impartment completion, his mind was in a complete mess leading him to collapse on the spot. But, when he came to, he was already in this immortal sect. The geezer was nowhere to be seen.
Roy also remembered, when he was asked by that woman in red about how he achieved the feat of beating a cultivator as a mortal, he had racked his brain. But, once he thought about the Book of Conqueror of the Abyss might be the cause, and was about to confess, yet, right as he had that thought, he experienced a head-splitting pain!
"Ugh! I can't believe my good fortune! It seems that this legacy does not want me to share this knowledge with anyone. It doesn't want to be spread." Roy was speechless over this fact.

That's why he choose to try to decipher the chants in secret, afraid that the moment he blacked out, he would unconsciously wreak havoc like previously. He didn't want any disaster to befall the people around him ever again.
Nevertheless, I really hope this legacy can really make me to become a cultivator.
Roy felt an incredibly strong desire in his heart to become an immortal!
He calmed himself down.
He could still remember the chant for the Conqueror of the Abyss.
Furthermore, it was an extremely clear recollection. It was firmly engraved within his mind and impossible to forget!
The first layer of Conqueror of the Abyss.
“The Origin of Hell, the beginning of evil……” reciting the first layer of Conqueror of the Abyss, Roy found it deeply profound and mysterious.
After a while, Roy turned to the second page. On it, there was another humanoid illustration of Devil King, but this one was slightly different. On the second illustration of Devil’s back was a pair of devilish black wings that spread open, exuding a domineering aura and a taste for massacre.
Same as the previous page’s experience, when he turned to the second page, an atmosphere that seemed originated from hell surrounded Roy and his eyes gradually turned crimson red, suppressing the blood-thirsty desire deluding Roy’s consciousness and the second layer of Conqueror of the Abyss was successfully imprinted inside his mind. Finally, Roy fully grasped the chants.
"AAARGH!" he shouted loudly, his body convulsed uncontrollably.
Roy endured so much pain, while maintaining his body from collapsing. He dreaded that, once his consciousness fade away, he would create chaos everywhere.
The third page, fourth page, fifth page…
Roy turned the pages one by one, with every page turned, inside his mind emerged another upper layer of Conqueror of the Abyss. As his page turning speed was slow, it took him more than two hours before he manage to reach the last page.
One last page, instead of an illustration, a line of flamboyant calligraphy filled the page.
"HAAHAHA!" suddenly, there was a burst of loud laughter. It was so loud that Roy's figure jolted violently amidst his already constant muscle spasms.
Then, followed by an icy-cold voice reverberated in his mind.
“Encumbered with Hell’s aura of slaughter, the one receiving the Conqueror of the Abyss is accepted as my pro-disciple, governing over Abyss’s Gate. When appears, unbeatable throughout the world!”

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.

Ellis Murrin died an unexpected death, but before he could experience the sweet bliss of eternal rest, a God-like being whisked him away. The God told a tale of another world in grave jeopardy and the need for a hero (or several heroes) to go there and save the people. It was looking to be a typical story of transmigration when suddenly, something unexpected happened. Now, he finds himself standing in the middle of an ancient tomb, with a lineage that wasn’t exactly normal and a body that wasn’t entirely human. 8 53The Only Real Cultivator
Vincent was relaxing in physics class when he and his entire class were teleported into a vast other world, where everybody called themselves cultivators and fought with magical martial arts. Vincent gained power over plants, allowing him to turn seeds into all sorts of vegetation. He ventures out into this new world filled with phony cultivators to set the record straight. He can make one declaration with absolute certainty, “I am the only real cultivator!” - You will see an overpowered main character with a cheat ability. You will see "comedy". You will see a normal guy who gets teleported to another world. You will see classic wuxia elements like Qi cultivation and alchemy. You will see grammar from a native speaker. You won't see a ruthless MC who kills everybody that offends him. You won't see harem. It's essentially everything I like about light novels, web novels, and wuxia all shoved into one story. If you’d like an unholy mix of overpowered main character, wuxia, fantasy, and LitRPG - give The Only Real Cultivator a try. 6/1/2020 edit: Some bloke plagerized this book and put it on amazon, titling it "Ancient Cultivator." tbh I'm kinda flattered that I'm worth plagerizing. Still, don't buy the book. The whole thing's available here for free.
