《The Divine Mortal》Chapter 10: A total monster!

"Mirage Step!" he silently moved to change his direction while creating afterimages that were awfully flawless, ones that looked identical to him.
His speed was multiplied many times over.
It was too difficult to discern which one was the real body. Since the execution of this technique was not merely passively mimicking the user's true body movement but much more profound than that, involving one's mind perception and spiritual consciousness to maintain. Therefore, each clone-like afterimage moved exuberantly as if had its own consciousness.
This kind of flawless execution was only viable to those who have mastered the technique to perfection!

At such a close distance and coupled with the old man’s sudden charge, Roy was utterly not in time to dodge or block the attack, and he could only watch as the halberd stabbed on his chest.
Numerous attacks hit him savagely.
Bang!! Bang!
The old man’s halberd stabbed at Roy’s chest, yet a clear and resounding sound of collision resounded, and then the old man’s figure retreated by over 2 steps.
The young man also pulled back a few step, he wasn't completely uninjured.
The geezer's strikes were so fast and heavy that he found himself in a pinch as soon as the fight broke out, each one of the geezer's attacks was fatal and full of killing intent. Not to mention the unusual halberd he was wielding contained a trace of ancient power.
The old guy frowned when he noticed the halberd actually hadn’t pierced into Roy’s chest, and he didn’t pursue Roy and looked at the black-clothed man’s chest instead.
He saw that a layer of silver light was ceaselessly flickering beneath the black clothed man’s clothes!
He’s wearing armor?
What a strange armor! It could actually disperse my spiritual qi!
The moment my attacks hit him not only did my momentum got halved, but my energy was also diffused into thin air!

What the f*ck is this monster!!
When he thought up to here, the old man’s eyes narrowed while the Spiritual Qi in his body surged. He had a solemn expression, and he knew that he’d underestimated the young man
“I admit that I underestimated you slightly. However, I’ll tell you right now, I’m going to get serious!” the geezer gazed at Roy while the spiritual qi within his body circulated slowly, and as his profound energy poured ceaselessly into his halberd. The halberd actually started trembling slightly at this moment.
He recited a certain technique softly under his breath, causing a red flame to rise from the halberd.
However, despite having his hands directly inside this dangerous-looking red flame, the old man could only feel a comfortable warm feeling, almost like his hands were wrapped in a soft blanket.
“!!?” The young man showed an intrigued expression for the first time since the battle began, when he noticed the light fluctuations being emanated from the geezer’s halberd. His eyes flickered a dangerous glint.
The geezer made a set of strange movements causing the flames to appear even hotter and fiercer, like flames from the deepest part of hell.
The air completely stopped flowing as the surroundings grew crimson with the ever-increasing heat. It was as if the nearby area had been plunged into a hellish purgatory.
Once the halberd was entirely engulfed in flames, the geezer's eyes flickered with a profound light, and his arms swung the sword horizontally.
"Scorching Flame Strike!"
As soon as his voice resounded, numerous strands of crimson flames shot out explosively towards Roy from the tip of the halberd.
The red flames scattered from the halberd and an enormous arc of flames flew towards Roy.
Roy's expression was as cool as a cucumber amidst the enormous arc of flames that radiated a massive amount of energy speeding his way.

BOOM !!
The scorching flames crashed into his body, then expanded and engulfed his entire figure.
BOOM!! BOOOOOM!!
However, the arc of flames did not only stop at the young man's figure and continued to fly into the distance until it collided with the mountain range behind him.
BOOBOMM!! ^_^
The moment the arc of flames touched the mountain range, it turned everything it touched into dust, instantly disintegrating a dozen large mountains with ease.
After destroying a dozen mountains, the arc of flames traveled for a few more miles before disappearing into thin air.
Whooosh!
SSShhh!!
By the time the arc of flames disappeared, abruptly, a purple light shot forward. This purple light tore through the sky in a flash and traveled through space with enough power to cut down all the beings.
Wuusshhhh!
In the blink of an eye, within the boundary of hundreds of meters across, every creature felt an unbeatable ancient monstrous pressure. Within this moment, countless existences trembled.
“W-What’s happening?!” All the cultivators and intelligent magical beasts inside this boundary were shivering with fear from the depth of their souls! The weaker ones directly plopped down the ground, passing out from the sheer aura.
Originally they were startled by the huge explosion that directly blew up the mountains, but before they could move to check what was going on, a terrifying aura enveloped their bodies scaring them motionless.
Under this ancient breath, they all felt like they were insects and ants; they were not enough to reach the apex.
"I-Impossible!" the geezer's face revealed a look of extreme shock.
However, what he was about to witness next made him even more shocked.
The silhouette of a hazy black humanoid figure came into view.
A figure was clad in a deep purple skin-tight monster scale full body armor. Thorns protruding atop his head, while the face was covered neatly behind a mask, showcasing only a pair of blood-red eyes. Many crack-like lines across his body forming a stream of crimson red glow. The hairline cracks in the body as if the long stream of lava flows with numerous tendril-like spikes across his body. Many visible steams could be seen drifting in his surroundings, forming a white mist of minute water droplets in the air. Originating the surge of blue lightning electric arcs that flashed every second.
The geezer's body trembled at the presence of such a profound energy, feeling overwhelmed by its lingering aura.
Feeling this type of pressure, he strugglingly spoke, “Not good…” sensing this ancient celestial pressure, the old man were aghast.
"Not bad.." the young man finally spoke for the first time, he mused, "With that little strength you've got.. to be able to exert this much power from that weapon is quite admirable." the man commended him amiably.
"About 5% I guess." he talked casually, one hand touching his own chin in a thoughtful manner.
A sinister grin appeared from behind the mask.
"Nova Blaze: Demolition!"
KROOOOOHH!

The Morgulon
Greg never really wanted to become a werewolf hunter. He just wanted to prove to his father that he could do the job his family was famous for, maybe earn some money while he’s at it. He certainly never wanted to become a werewolf, or run away from home, or fight the inquisition. Unfortunately, as his brothers would say, fate has a shitty sense of humour. Updates on Mondays. "I feel like this story perfectly represents how you can't judge a book by its cover (or, in this case, concept). Edgy badboy werewolf teen romance? Yeet that concept out the window and get ready for an action-packed fantasy with an incredibly built world and logical, realistic characters." "This is a great story, probably better than any werewolf novel I've read. It's certainly not a typical werewolf story (but don't let that stop you from reading it, the werewolves are still amazing.)" "A werewolf story where people aren't constantly meeting gruesome ends that still maintains a gritty atmosphere. Realistic worldbuilding and character design make this a must read!" - RR reviews The first chapter is also on DeviantArt, more may follow.
