《The Divine Mortal》Chapter 9: This brat is a monster

He was prepared to take out the Divine Escape Amulet when his meticulous mind thought of some possibilities.
What if this monstrous old man seized my amulet the second I took it out?
Knowing our disparity in strength, it's absolutely possible!!
Though I don't precisely know the depth of his strength, such a thing is plausible
I won't let my hard-earned system points go to waste! This friggin amulet's cost was so expensive!
100 system points! Ah!
I've left with only 20 something points.
After all, his life was of utmost importance. So, he would do anything for his well-being. It wasn't like he had any choice anyway. The system's Emergency Mode was still in the cooldown phase.
But, before he proceed further. The system's notification rang followed by a huge hologram screen popping out on his face.
[DING!]
[Informing the host, does the host want to impart the contents of the Conqueror of the Abyss?]
E?
Yes! By all means!!!
He couldn't afford leaving this place empty-handed, after all the pain he suffered in the hands of this crazy old man. Even if the book turned out to be a worthless crap later, he wouldn't mind it. Though if you think about it, how could an Ancient Divine Book be a useless thing? Thinking this way, he was secretly overjoyed.

At this time, the humanoid Devil King illustration flew out from the book page, in a bright flash, it entered between Roy’s eyebrows. Inside his mind emerged the details of the inscription.
All of the processes took a millisecond to transpire.
[Completed!]
!!
In those split second, the old man expressed shock, he bore witness to a wisp of light that shot towards Roy's forehead. His strength was formidable, so it wasn't strange for him to have noticed even the slightest abnormality.

"Impossible! What did you do? What was that flash just now?!" he was completely clueless to the whole process. "Hmph! Brat! don't ever hope for an easy death!" with a gripping motion he scanned Roy's mind through his Spiritual Perception.
He had his suspicions that the young man would have acquired something from that mysterious book that he found hundred years ago in the Demon Sea. Unfortunately, he couldn't comprehend the contents inside the book even though he had exerted his utmost efforts.
Until recently he had found a clue as a result of him scrambling left and right in the entire continent. As far as the title 'Conqueror of the Abyss' should imply, anyone would find that this book was a book of evil contained many devilish inscriptions that could bring about catastrophe into the world. As such, he was frustrated to find that the mysterious book turned out to be worthless for humans without a special bloodline. Hence, he left it casually atop his jade bed in hope of some miracles to occur.
////
Later, he found himself deep in the void.
Void of Nothingness.
Hovering in the abyss. Everything was black.
The atmosphere was heavy.
The old man suffocated.
Then he saw myriad of eyes opened in the surroundings. Each one of them emitted an unfriendly gaze.
"Scram" an indifferent voice could be heard faintly.
Then the expressionless myriad of eyes glared and jumped out! The eyeballs drift in the air. There was no cuteness, It only made him feel sick.
Many eyeballs had begun to drift around him, moving up, down, left and right. As the pupil dilated, the pupil emitted red beams of light towards his body.
The pupil in the center of the eye is continually reducing the dilation.
The eyeballs begin to make a strange sound *Pipipi* and began to scan up his whole person.

The red beam wrapped around his entire body.
He was blasted out of the mysterious void.
"F*ck! What's that!" the old man forcefully retracted his spiritual perception. His body was full of cold sweat. "That monster, actually managed to injure my soul!" glancing at the young man, he threw him towards the cave wall with a bit power.
Boom!!
The cave shook, a hole was made in the wall.
"Now you have done it, Brat! I'll kill you along with that thing!" he took out a massive halberd. His full cultivation base burst out of his whole person, conjuring a crimson semi-translucent spiritual qi swirled about around himself.
Aura of a Spirit King Stage Cultivation Base shot out in every direction, devastating the surroundings.
"Arghh!" Roy's whole body was crashed off of the cave wall by the shockwave, flying dozen of meters into a distance.
Roy's eyes snapped open before stabilizing himself in midair, hovering atop the dense forest. His scarlet eyes glowed, peering into the direction he was being thrown from.
Roy's atmosphere was different. His icy-cold eyes penetrating the surrounding as if looked down on every living being.
"!! I see you are protecting this mortal brat, huh." the old man spat. His face was calm but there's a faint unwillingness in his eyes.
Roy's left hand motioned forward, forming a gripping movement. Then, a huge black spiky hand materialized in front of the old man in a split second.
"What!!" the old man reacted fast and repelled the incoming attack, waving forward his enormous halberd.
"Sh*t! His body is not even emanating any spiritual qi, but this attack I just deflected.." he glanced at his hands, trembled. "Sh*t!" he cursed under his breath.
"I must eliminate this guy at all cost!" his gloomy face looked solemn, "This brat is a total monster!!" he instantly narrowed their distance, smashed his fist towards Roy’s face.
Whoosh!!
Roy's figure swiftly twisted his neck to the side avoiding the old man’s fist. At the same time, he raised his hand and suddenly swung it towards the old man.
Bang!!
Perhaps because the force behind it was so enormous, everywhere Roy’s fist passed, numerous fluctuations that were visible to the eye had appeared in the air, and it emanated a sharp sound from the air being torn apart.
!!
Suddenly, a savage expression appeared abruptly in the old man’s eyes, and he held the halberd in his hand before suddenly slashing towards Roy's incoming fist.
The halberd and fist collided with each other, and an explosion resounded.
Boom!!! Boom!!
They were exchanging blows nonstop. Many huge craters were formed every few meters.
Originally, this was an impossible feat for a fist to collide directly with a halberd and comes out intact, unless one possess a higher cultivation base to be able to overwhelm the enemy's attack momentum, reducing the power that being generated. Even so, the sheer power and hardness of the weapon would still be able to penetrate the defense enough for an expert to refrain from doing so.
"F*ck this brat!" his speed didn’t reduce while he instantly arrived before Roy with his halberd in hand.
After that, under Roy’s indifferent gaze, the halberd swung swiftly towards his right and left legs!
Slash!!
