《The Power of Systems》Prologue

CLANG!
A sword made of a pitch black substance collided with another sword made of gold. Two men were fighting their final battle in a dark, empty castle. One was wearing expensive robes, decorated with gems and the other was wearing a plain, black trench coat. The sparks from their exchanges flew everywhere and the sound of metal clashing against metal resounded throughout the castle. The fight it seemed even at first, but then one man slowly started getting pushed back, more and more as time passed. Small cuts started appearing, and then larger and larger wounds started being inflicted on the man in the expensive robes.
“S-stop! I command you as Prince of this country! I order you to stop this assault or I’ll have you chained up again!” yelled the Prince who was getting overwhelmed by the black sword.
“That won’t happen, because you will die today.”
The man wearing black finally landed a fatal strike and cut off one of the Prince’s legs. It seems like the battle was finally over.
GAH!!!
The Prince fell down backwards, having lost a leg and started squirming away as quickly as he could. Unfortunately, the man that had landed this strike pointed his pitch black sword at the bleeding Prince’s heart, while he stepped on his foot to make sure he couldn’t escape.
“This only happened because of the Princess. If she hadn’t dragged me here and tortured me for who knows how long. I wouldn’t be getting my revenge like this,” whispered the man in all black. “Luckily, I got rid of her early on.”
A horrified expression appeared on the once dignified face of the Prince. “How did you get so strong anyways! We had you locked up, so how did you gain such tremendous power!” yelled the man while he suffered in agony.

“Doesn’t matter now. You’re about to die after all.”
“NOO—”
The sword made of darkness cut through the air and pierced through the Prince’s heart. He finally lay limp and unmoving on the ground. Strangely,as if killing was an everyday occurrence, the winner of this decisive battle didn’t even pay any mind to the action he had just performed.
“I was just testing out this sword, but it’s pretty incredible. Still, I prefer my other skills over this swordsmanship one,” said the man in an indifferent tone. All of sudden, the black sword disappeared and was seemingly absorbed into the man’s body. Right after his sword disappeared, yells could be heard in the hallways leading to this room, the guards were coming to investigate the commotion.
“Well, now that I have finally conquered the Northern Kingdom. Where should I go next?”
A few moments later, the guards finally stepped foot in the room, but all they saw was a dead man on the floor. The man in black had vanished into thin air, never to be seen again. Not a single trace of the man known as Ryan will ever be found in the Northern Kingdom ever again.
