Wake-up juice
Mortal tier recipe. No cultivation requirements
Coming in many different forms and variations there is no such thing as the original wake-up juice, because of that I have just included the one I like most personally. Also means not having to deal with recipe ownership, some of those corporations keep an excessively tight grasp on that stuff.
Whether you want it spicy, sweet, slow or fast acting, and perhaps even active throughout the day, there’s a type of juice for pretty much every case. Exact effectivity is dependent on the type, since some need to be milder or stronger for individual tailoring. In my case I really like this white chocolate flavoured one, my mother used to feed it to me in the mornings to help get me out the door for school sooner.
Ingredients and recipe Savoury grape juice, 50 ml – non magical fluid Sugar paste, 25 ml – non magical fluid Molten white chocolate (or a flavouring), 50 ml – non magical fluid Obtuse pepper flakes, 1 gram – non magical plant Explosive chili flakes, 0.5 grams – non magical plant
Savoury grapes are an old item. Almost identical to white grapes in outer appearance, they contain several small seeds but never a hard pit. This defining trait separated them from olives, which they technically are, but that analysis only came about with some agricultural knowledge.
Sugar paste is what it sounds like. Similar to a thick liquid icing, there will always be some obvious crystals due to using full crystals over a ground down version. It flows and therefore is a liquid. Made by mixing sugar with cornstarch and water, how about experimenting a bit to find an ideal ratio?
Melting chocolate is difficult if you don’t know how. You should never just stick it on a heated pan as this will burn it instead. To ensure melting there are a few good methods, but the least involved is to boil a pot of water and place the chocolate in another bowl directly on top. The water should not touch this second bowl instead using the emitted heat to slowly melt the solid.

Obtuse peppers are a cross between savoury and spicy, but their extreme concentration of spice means you should only use a tiny amount per portion of anything. People crying after tasting a pinch of powder is considered a tolerant reaction.
Explosive chili flakes are similar, but go for a single instance of extreme heat. This deals with the greatest issue plaguing spice, it’s effect of lasting some amount of time. The single burst is a perfect effect for a drink designed to wake a person up, providing you don't end up a bawling mess after this explosive start.
Making chili flakes is just a matter of dehydrating at a low heat until they end up a dry flaky product. Crushing them finely will give the flakes, formed of the flesh, skin, and seeds all combined.
Add obtuse chili flakes to the savoury grape juice and stir a few times. Leave this part in a cold room to chill but not freeze. You will know the temperature is fine when the juice slightly solidifies into a less viscous consistency.
At the same time add the explosive flakes to the sugar paste. This doesn’t actually cause a reaction, nor a visible response, but the paste’s thickness means it can take a while to fully mix these together. Really it’s just meant to give you something to do while waiting for the chocolate to melt and juice to chill.
When all three things are done you can mix them all together in a single pan. Place it over a heat source and stir it throughout. It won’t take long to finally finish this simple recipe, which also tastes surprisingly good. Just learn to hold your spice before taking it.
Usage
In about ten minutes, he's gonna be as sober as a priest on Sunday – Bartender in an old west tavern.

Effectivity greatly varies from place to place and year to year. Chili rarely maintains an exact level of spice forever, such that the same product could wildly differ in results between harvests.
This product is always taken orally, and it is recommended you block your nose for the viler tasting ones. The one provided is suitable for children, providing you’re only feeding them a spoonful in the morning. More could create short-term issues like ulcers from the intense discomfort, and long-term issues of taking anything in too large doses exist.
One dose (5ml for children) will initiate a reflex action that sends them into a minor coughing fit when the explosive chili takes effect. This lasts at most 5 seconds, such that there is no inherent danger, while they’ll mainly taste the chocolate, sugar, and savoury undertones after. During this tasting, their intense reaction will jolt them awake, perfect to help with that morning drowsiness.
From there the residual obtuse chili leaves a slightly uncomfortable feeling. The secondary, weaker, discomfort will last around half an hour. It can be reduced through use of milk or other liquids containing sugar. By maintaining this feeling it makes the temptations of returning to sleep weaker, helping to push you out of bed as much as needed.
The product will force you out of bed, but staying up is still determinable through willpower. That’s why this version is so good for children that have school soon, as they don’t need the coaxing. However, for an adult on a weekend it may be better to take something stronger.

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
