[ Lin Lingtian's POV ]

The Second Heart or Core was given that name for a reason .When a second heart or core is formed inside the physical body it forms into an organ that is the origin of Yang soul force " The Heart " When a second Heart / core is formed inside the soul it doesn't have a specific form but it connects the army of the War God to the user hence it is called the second core while the first core is the War God .The Second Heart or Core are both formed when using a specific method , when using the blood of the demon beast a second heart is formed and his physical body is connected with the Army while if the other two methods are used a second core is formed inside his soul which connects his soul with the Army .He used two out of the three methods to create the second heart or core using the blood of the Snow Sakura and used the temporal page as a medium .It was because of this he had a second heart and a second core causing him to gain both benefits and limitations as now to destroy his connection to his Army both his second heart and core must be needed to be destroyed but if his Second heart is damaged his core will also be effected as his second heart and core are connected with each other in a balance like yin and yang .The Army of the War God Technique is made by absorbing and battling a soul on the astral plain of existence .When the War God defeats the soul it is forced to submit and serve the War God for all of eternity .But he could only subjugate one member of a species that will directly serve under him and Xiao Ning'er and if he wants to subjugate any other demon spirits of the same species he needed the seed of hell or the egg of Nether .In the War God's Army he had created the following ranks :

Captain

Each rank indicates their influence in the Army and the amount of soul force he gives them .The Captain rank is the lowest rank while the General Rank is the Highest rank .Currently he could only subjugate the souls of Demon beasts or Demon Spirits because he needed the Egg of Nether or also called the Seed of Hell created from the Blood Ritual of Nether to absorb the souls of Humans and make them into a part of his army but he had to fight not against their souls but their emotions of Fear , Anger , Despair when they had died . If he loses he will go insane .There were other benefits to creating the Second Heart and Core as he could form his own personal Demon Spirit which he could take the form of . The Demon Spirit would be like a chimera as in a piece of all the demon spirits he had in his army would combine to create a demon spirit that could never actually exist .Another benefit was that he could instinctively know how the Demon souls in his Army circulated soul force and created attacks i.e the mutated Fanged Panda was a part of his Army hence he knew how to channel soul force to create the yin yang blast , gravity field , lightning palm e.t.c.

Closing his eyes , Lin Lingtian took a deep breath as he looked at the night sky , under the shining moon , his right hand brushed against Xiao Ning'er's hand .Glancing at the blushing girl , he couldn't help but smile .

In the silence of the forest , they both enjoyed each other's company , no words needed to be said .

" Ning'er ."

" Yes ."

" I wanted to ask you , I didn't feel your cocoon being struck by the Heavenly Lightning."

" Well I asked around apparently a Giant Ice God had protected the entire Holy Orchid Institute ."

With a confused expression , Lin Lingtian looked at Xiao Ning'er expecting her to further elaborate but she just shrugged her shoulders.

" Ok ....so did you experience any obstacle while when I ordered you to escape from Holy Orchid ? "

" Well .....

[ Flashback ]

Inside the Cocoon , Xiao Ning'er felt warmth like she was in her mother's embrace .She could feel her meridians expand to such a degree she didn't know as her foundation began to grow stronger and stronger .

( Thud ! )

Hearing it , Xiao Ning'er frowned , someone was outside the cocoon .

( Thud ! )

Xiao Ning'er blocked out all the sound as she focused on the Soul Force flowing into her dantian and body .

Hearing his commands Xiao Ning'er tensed up as she felt a huge amount of Soul Force erupt inside her dantian .The Cocoon around her began to glow a shade of Jade as she felt cracks all over her dantian .

She was advancing to the silver rank .

( Boom ! )

The Cocoon around her shattered and dissipated back into her dantian .

Clenching her fists , She couldn't help but smile .

This power was intoxicating .Sensing a presence , Xiao Ning'er looked at figure of the knocked out Ye Ziyun .

' Why is she here ? '

Xiao Ning'er looked around and after placing Ye Ziyun on the bed began to walk out of the room

" Ning'er , wait ."

Xiao Ning'er looked back at Ye Ziyun and said ," Thank you and Goodbye "

Her shadow twisted and turned .

" Yue , come out ."

The mutated Demon Horned Sheep arose from her shadow as she commanded it to take her to the Xuan Spirit Merchant Hall .

" Hahaha , I am alive ! I AM ALIVE ! " Shao Ming Feng the owner of Xuan Merchant Hall .Xuan Spirit Merchant Hall is northern Glory City's biggest demon spirit trader. They would acquire a huge amount of demon spirits from adventurers daily, and then resell them. In between, they had many precious demon spirits. The higher the grade, the more rare and expensive it is. The cheapest ones can be bought with a few hundreds or a few thousands of demon spirit coins. The most expensive ones would be several millions of demon spirit coins.

" Sir "

Glancing at one of his workers , Shao Ming Feng saw Lu Lin pointing at something .A flaming sphere was coming towards them .Then they felt the aura of a black gold rank .The flaming sphere appeared Infront of them .Shao Ming Feng politely smiled and walked forward ," Miss , is there something I , Shao Ming Feng , can help you with ? "

" I require all the demon spirit inside your collection ."

"A...all?" Shao Ming Feng inhaled a cold air. He looked at Xiao Ning'er sitting on the back of with shock. Why would he need so many demon spirits? One person can only integrate with one demon spirit at most!

" Ah ! Honourable Lady , Our entire collection costs 61 million Demon spirit coins ."

Xiao Ning'er just tapped Yue's neck as the pressure of the black gold rank descended on Shao Ming Feng causing everyone to their knees Her answer was obvious as a bitter smile broke out on Shao Ming Feng as he on his knees said ," Please wait a little while we will bring them ."

Very quickly, Shao Ming Feng came back with a bunch of demon spirit stones.After being captured, demon spirits will be sealed within a demon spirit stone to store them.

" Xiao Ning'er ."

" Yes ."

" Do you have a connection with Ye Ziyun ? "

Seeing her silence , Lin Lingtian smiled and said ," Tell me when you are ready ."

Getting up , Lin Lingtian took out all the Demon Spirit Stones and threw the appraisal skill on them.

He could absorb only one Demon Spirit of Each species so of course he going to absorb a demon Spirit with atleast an excellent growth rate .Even if the demon spirits can gain a higher growth rate whenever he experiences a heavenly tribulation , he isn't going to absorb Demon Spirits with poor , good and ordinary growth rates as to him they would only be parasites that would take a lot of time and him experiencing multiple tribulations to become useful to him and for him that was not worth it .He still kinda regretted absorbing the Horned Sheep and Fanged Panda as his first demon spirits as they both had ordinary growth rates and even with the massive amount of soul force that was absorbed in the Heavenly Tribulation they only advanced to 1 star black gold rank . Looking at the pile of Demon Spirit Coins ,a sigh left Lin Lingtian's mouth .This is going to take some time .

Finding these Eight Demon Spirits had greatly surprised Lin Lingtian .Closing his eyes , his Dantian began to open as a Ethereal Vine flowed out from his brows and attached itself to the Demon Spirit stones .

Lin Lingtian found himself in a pitch black room with the only source of light being a jade vine behind .

This was his astral plain of existence .Infront of him astral projections of the Abyssal Winged Falcon , Blood Alligator , Wind Beast , Snow Queen , Giant Blue Armed Ape , Demonic Leopard , Abyssal Tiger , Heavenly Lightning Sparrow .The Abyssal Winged Falcon , a 20 feet tall avian spread it's wings and flew into the sky .

The Feminine Demon beast the snow Queen began to attack him as a shards of Ice made their way towards him .

A grin spread on Lin Lingtian's face as an axe and a sword appeared infront of him .

Grabbing them , Lin Lingtian ran forward and jumped .

Using the gravity field to make it so the shards of Ice shattered Infront of him , he moved with blinding speed towards the snow Queen .But he was intercepted by the demon leopard and blood Alligator .It was interesting , as before when he had faced the Horned sheep and Fanged Panda they didn't even try to work with one another but now things were different .

The demonic leopard jumped as the tail of the blood Alligator swung at him .The scales glowed red as spikes made of crystallized blood shot at him .Using the tassel of the axe , Lin Lingtian spun his axe and shattered all the blood crystals .But behind him was the Abyssal Winged Falcon as its beak glowed with a silver shine .Sensing the danger , Lin Lingtian used his right leg to do a back flip and swing his sword towards the charging Abyssal Tiger .

Ice shards rose up Infront of the tiger to protect him .

( Roar ! )

The Abyssal Tiger releases a jet of flame and lightning .Seeing the jet of flames engulf Lin Lingtian as the dust and smoke covered their vision , thinking he was dead some of the demon beasts relaxed but an axe escaped the smoke towards the Abyssal Winged Falcon .

The Abyssal Winged Falcon turned to the side as the axe missed .Looking at the smoke arising from the center , Lin Lingtian walked out unharmed as he stopped using the gravitational field .

( Thud ! )

Opening his palm , an axe returned to his hands as he had boomeranged his axe towards the Abyssal Winged Falcon and the head on the ground showed that his attacked worked .The astral spirit of the Abyssal Winged Falcon flowed into the Ethereal Vine .Taking out a seed from his pocket , Lin Lingtian flicked it towards the snow Queen .A few inches away from her , the seed sprouted into vine and wrapped around the Snow Queen who screamed in pain .The Vines began to glow as it absorbed soul force and large thorns formed and shoot towards the other demon beasts .

( Roar ! )

Roars of pain filled the pitch black room as an axe bifurcated the Snow Queen .

( Thud ! )

The right arm of the Giant Blue Armed Ape was cut off by Lin Lingtian's sword followed up by it's head .Lin Lingtian glanced at the remaining demon beasts .The Heavenly Thunder Sparrow was uninjured in the air gathering soul force .

All the others were damaged by the Thorns .

Taking a deep breath , blue flames erupted around his as pillars of flames covered Lin Lingtian .The flames dissipated as Lin Lingtian was gone .With the cries of the Demon Leopard showing where Lin Lingtian was after misdirecting them .Crimson Soul force covered his axe and his spun his axe around using the tassel .In a pitchers stances , Lin Lingtian threw the sword towards the Abyssal Tiger and as he rushed away from the powerful tail of the Blood Alligator .

In a zig zag motion , Lin Lingtian had slowed down the speed of the blood Alligator .In a black flip , Lingtian's axe made it's home in its nape .

Taking a deep breath , Lin Lingtian looked ta the last remaining beast , the Abyssal Tiger and the winged sparrow attacked him with a jet of purple flames and a pillar of lightning .

' Dao of the Wood Scripture : Fleeting Sakura '

His body glowed a jade of green as he dispersed into a collar of Sakura petals .This was the escaping Technique of the Wood Dao Scripture .The Sakura petals were just an misdirecting Technique while his real body had transformed into a slender tree root. He twisted nimbly through the soil .

His hands arose from the ground impales the chest of the Abyssal Tiger .Giant Vines grew from the ground covering the entire places .

In a swift motion , thousands of needle like projectiles that were actually thorns made out of soul force killed the Heavenly Thunder Sparrow.Looking at the astral projection of the Heavenly Thunder Sparrow enter into the Ethereal Vine a smile it on the way to his face as he looked forward to the mutations that will form in the demons spirits .
