《Kobold Expansion》Chapter 26: Make a sound in the east then strike in the west

I pressed my demihuman citizens for information on the sacred artifacts. There are as many artifacts as there are gods.
When this world was young, some twenty generations ago. Thirty chosen were summoned to this world. Travelers from another world. One chosen by each god to be their champion in shaping the world. They brought ideas to the primitive dwellers of this world. Both in technology and in politics. The kingdom was settled by a Chosen. The republic was set up by three. The church was born. It was a time of establishment. Then one conflict broke out. The demihumans needed land. Led by a chosen well versed in warfare they took chunk of land after chunk of land from the budding Theocracy. The humans rallied to repel the demihumans. It was a conflict between incredibly powerful people. After years of war the gods stepped in. Each wanted their chosen to win. They sent to their chosen an artifact made of pure magic. This only exacerbated the war. It was bloody and long. It lasted until the chosen died from old age. The entire world was left in shambles.
It was an odd legend. There was no heroic tale. No moral to be learned. It was just an account of history. I looked at my two sacred artifacts. An arrow that makes people horny and a knife that can cut even rocks. They aren’t very useful. I hardly see how they could destroy a world. “What are the other demihuman artifacts?” I ask, all the demihumans but the gazelle girl is hesitant to answer. “The bow of Artemis. It always hits its mark. Then there is the quiver of Dionysus, it coats your arrows in a poison that drives people to drunken madness. All three are supposed to be used together. Those are the weapons of the main tribes but the lesser tribes might have weapons of their own.” I nod. I don’t see how I could use these artifacts. I am too large to use a bow, but getting them out of the hands of others is a top priority. I don’t need to be shot in the back when I get my revenge on the humans. I pick up the mole woman and the squirrel girl in my hand. “You will show me to where they are stored.” This flusters both of them. “Lord Anon, surely you jest. Those are meant for the savior of the demihumans. The one to unite the three tribes through conquering the other two tribes.”

I pause to think of my next words carefully. “I will unite the tribes.” Unite them in fear. “Since I’m going to the demihuman lands anyway. I might as well bring back this guy.” I grab Kan’s cage and hold him in my claw. The other two I place on my back. We begin to fly to the other side of the mountains. Just a few miles away from my mountain the forest begins to shift to that of a thick tropical forest. The directions get more precise.
I land in the rainforest, knocking over many trees. My body is too large to approach this in any kind of regular manner. I push through the forest, leaving a trail of destruction in my way. I only stop when I notice a house in the tree in front of me. I look around, there are more houses. Connected by branches and rope bridges. Demihumans of all kinds stare at me. Whenever I meet their eyes they quickly divert them. I let the squirrel girl down. “Go get your leader.” I command her. She scampers up a tree then jumps from tree to tree.
She finally returns. She has been gone for over an hour. I look at the man she leads behind her and realize why. He’s an old slothhuman. I watch him creep from tree to tree until he rests at the nearest tree to me. “You lead the tree dwellers?”
“I do Mr. Dragon, to what do I owe the pleasure?”
“Assemble a meeting of all the tribes. Tell them to bring their sacred weapons.” His face slowly starts to look surprised.
“All the tribes?”
“Yes, you are the middle ground between the tree, and air dwellers. Bring their leaders here for a meeting.”

“What about the plains tribe?”
“Yes them too. Plains, swamp, mountain, forest, water, collorless bring all the mana tribes!” He doesn’t get my reference, but he gets the urgency in my voice. “Tell anyone of them that doesn’t show up that I will kill them.” His eyes slowly pop, but he nods. “Dismissed.” He nods again and slowly climbs away. With nothing else to do I prepare the meeting place. I clear the brush from the ground until I have an appropriately sized area that I can lay down in. Then in front of that I clear another area to sit the leaders. I cut stumps into seats. Now all there is to do is wait.

The Dungeon Hive
One thing I noticed about most dungeon stories is that most races mistakenly believe that dungeons have a hive-mind and I go, “That make sense.” Considering the various powers and how big dungeons can get, wouldn’t it make more sense for them to have a hive-mind? So this is it; my take of the world’s first dungeon and the hive that controls it. Watch as it stumbles, fall, survive, strive and…procreate? Watch as it changed the world of Ioplon…for better and for worse. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For edited version of the story, the full trilogy (Book_1: Fantasy Begins, Book_2: Dungeon Flames, Book_3: Spread of the Dungeons) are now available on Amazon. Please take a look, and leave a rating. Thanks

Balancing of the world
Just as humanity reached the height of its power, it fell again. Mana was introduced into a previously balanced world, sending everything present into chaos. Humanity losing its technological advantages, fell back to the dark ages, back to when survival was all but guaranteed. Mana though useful for enhancing the body isn’t unlimited, and humanity fell behind fast. From experiments, a being of mana, born into this chaotic world. The first of its kind. Rather than thriving in a world to which it belongs, it has to model the world so it will suit its needs. As a lone being, it has to use its power over mana to influence beasts and humans alike to abide by its will and further its goals. It will manipulate intelligent lifeforms to do its bidding while believing that they are becoming stronger. It will help lower lifeforms and guide their lives until they fit into the world as envisioned by our being. Read how our protagonist starts in a small area, changing it to suit its needs, and then grows until the world is balanced and at peace again. This is my first story, and I don’t have an editor yet. My English should be good enough, but I expect to have to go back and do editing later on. I would classify this story as litRPG. There will be a type of system with blue boxes and all, though the perspective is the system itself and how it came to be and why it does what it does. As a single mighty being, there will be dungeon core influences such as expanding the area and influencing all within though there is no such thing as an actual dungeon. As humanity is trying to survive, there will also be some city/base building influences, and I will have some perspective changes to show how the forces are being perceived by the affected people. As I have a busy job, it will be hard to update consistently, but I am quite a bit ahead of what I have currently uploaded.
