Chapter 8

The Red King and Destruction.

It’s been three days since the last conversation with Mei. I can feel her in my mind but It seems she is trying to use her very efficiently and not more than necessary. I’m sure it is to, not let my body get worse than this. There are black cracks everywhere in my body now. I am just observing through the glass tube without showing them a single reaction. And It seems most of the scientist are convinced with the result as they never came back. Only few are staying here are Occasionally Dr. Otto comes to check my condition, observes me for a while and returns. They are sure that I am dying and are constantly trying to make sure the result from my body is perfect. I have barely seen the general since all these experiments started. And I’m sure I won’t see him for a while because of the ongoing war. It was nearly time for Mei to return. I have also simulated my plans many times to confirm there aren’t any flaws and I can avoid any kinds of dangerous situation.

The third day also passed peacefully for me and at the start of the fourth I finally hear the voice I was most hoping for.

“Master I have returned.”

Saying that she appears with her cute maid uniform in my mind. I also make a virtual version of myself. Well as long as I use my imagination I can even create a whole town but I do not have the time to do so. Currently, I’m sitting on a chair and Mei is floating in air before me. I politely greet her with a smile.

“Welcome back, Mei”

“Thank You, Master. It seems you missed me a lot. I’m sorry for going away for so long.”

She smiles teasingly while floating near me for a while before sitting down in my lap. It seems she had not only scanned but master all the anime characters themselves. But I couldn’t blame her ‘cause I would have done the same. I do not resist her and answer back calmly.

“Yes actually I missed you a lot. So, never go away for so long next time.”

I smile at her saying that. Well my real self cannot smile like that but I can make the virtual one smile very easily. I look at Mei after answering her. She was looking downwards. I couldn’t see her expression but she replies in a soft tone with a nod.

“Yes master”

I could’ve sworn that I just saw a blush in her face. But now wasn’t the time to flirt with my AI. We had various other work. So, I quickly change my tone and the topic.

“Did you find anything useful?”

Sensing my tone she looks at me answer calmly.

“Yes actually. It seems that I was a part of this main system before and I could use that faint connection to access various classified files, But that faint connection only helped me to reach only certain part of the system only I couldn’t control this ship neither could access the very top secret files which are guarded by various firewalls. But I have gathered every information on this ship regarding the things master asked for. ”

She actually brought me more information than I hope. This could make my whole plan much easier. I still didn’t sense any stir in my emotion though. I patted Mei’s head running down her hair while replying to her.

“Thank you for the hard work Mei. You brought me even more information than I hoped”

This was my genuine and sincere thought. My emotion and personality might have become a little cold but they couldn’t be completely changed. A part of my myself was still the same old me. Mei looked a little surprised but after a while softly speaks.

“I’m a part of master now and I will do any and everything in my power to help you.”

Saying that she leans against my chest. It seems she has developed an entire new personality. I know I added a completely enhanced personality using my Psychometric abilities but I never thought It would be developed such extent after going through modification though. For the first time in a while I was quite pleased with the results. She than starts explaining the whole information to me. The language was still quite hard for me to read and because of that Mei was explaining things to me with a pleased look on her face too.

“Regarding the destination and ‘that’ powerful family some of the matters are quite similar. First off our destination is the ‘Red Castle’ . The biggest battleship on various local galaxy which mostly contains of total of more than twenty galaxies. It says ‘Nobody has seen the full power of the Red Castle’ in the record. Also, In sometime today, the Chloros family’s ship will use Space Warp to jump between the remaining space to near the Red Castle. However the owner and that powerful family are the same. ”

So that powerful family has the biggest battleship among twenty galaxies and they have been the one protecting the earth. Just Who are they? Mei’s voice pulls me back from my imagination. She continues in a monotonous voice.

“That Family is called ‘The Valkyries’. They are known as the Supreme Leaders of Space. And the one whole leads and protects The Valkyries and the Supreme lord of the Red Castle is known in various names, but the most famous is ‘The Red King’. He has many other name such as The King of Valkyries, The Greater Demon Lord, The Dominator, Annihilator of Valhalla and many more. But not a single person has complained. Do you know why?”

Saying that Mei mischievously smiles because she knew I didn’t know why. But someone that has such titles shouldn’t an ordinary person. So, he looks at Mei and answers in a very gentle tone.

“I do not. Will you please tell me, Mei?”

Taken aback by the sudden change Mei looks at me with dumbfounded expression and suddenly turns red all the way to tip of her ear and neck. She was trying a lot to be like those anime characters. I couldn’t help but show her a little smile. She was staggering as if a bug had appeared but few moments later she answers shyly.

“..Very well…, If master insists then I will show it to you.”

I was a little taken aback by her sudden change in attitude but I was shocked when she said she’d show it to me. Meaning that she had gotten her hands on classifies files without even using any of her main power let alone full. Indeed, I was very glad to have her at my side. Saying that Mei lifts her hand and a hologram rises from her palm.

In the picture I could see a person wearing a Scarlet body suit with a tinge of black floating in space. His long Black hair was floating behind his back. As it was shown from behind I couldn’t see his face. As the point of view got further and further from that person, We could see two dragons on his each side. One was fiery Red while the other was Angelic White. They both had pair of horns which could only be said as Majestic and they were like a Crown displaying their Positions Like they were the leaders of their Species. After getting even further we could see thousands and thousands of women with white wing behind their back. They were calmly floating in space without moving. It seems that the entire space around that person was breathable because they weren’t wearing a mask nor were suffocating in that vacuum space. Just what kind of power was that person using. I was momentarily dazed by that. After that, The person in Scarlet and Black body suit, no, The Red King, Slowly raises his hands. His majestic Aura could be seen even through this hologram. Then he points his hand in front of him where one could see many battleships were ready with their weapon. There were at least a few thousands or more in there. Behind the battleship fleet were many planets and a few star just like sun. Suddenly black energy gathers around The Red King’s raised hand and after few moments,

“Red Void…”

The words spoken by him were very few and quiet but everyone must have heard that deep yet majestic voice. I felt a little familiar like I had heard it somewhere but the scene before me immediately dispersed my thoughts.

After that the humongous amount of energy gathered in his hands fires off toward the battleships in astronomical speed. Even if they were to move in the speed of light they won’t be able to dodge it. However It totally exceeds my expectations and lefts me speechless. That energy not only swallows the battleships but even the planets and stars that were in its way. After the dust subsided the battleships were missing and you could only see two or three planets remaining from the dozen of planet and stars. What happened? They were Annihilated, not even a scrap of metal was left behind in the place where the thousands or so battleships stood. The Red King slowly puts his hand down. After that, he briefly looks toward me? No, he was looking at the person recording this footage and at that brief moment, Eyes that were redder than lava could be seen shining in that dark space. His Scarlet Eyes had Unwavering and Unyielding Strength that could make anyone cower in fear and yet I couldn’t help but admiring those eyes. Something sparked in me there but only in future would I know it.

That was the last scene in the footage. After that the hologram only showed a black screen.

So this is The Red King. The power of the general, that Black silhouette and the whole Chloros family were nothing compared to him. He was far superior existence than I could’ve ever imagined. And he was the one protecting the Earth.

But now I saw this I was starting to think of Chloros family as even bigger idiot than before. They were opposing an existence that was far from their league. However, they might be idiots and crazy but I know they aren’t foolish enough to oppose such an existence without any hope of winning. Which means there is much more going on this war behind the scenes. Do they know of a way to weaken the Red King? Even if they weaken him even a thousands of battleships wasn’t much of a threat to him. He also had two dragons and thousands of Valkyries by his side. How are they even hoping to reach him?

Unless they are not the only Royal Family after him and somehow the Red King is somehow weaker than before. That would make much more sense than blindly attacking without any Plan. As I was thinking that Mei gives me a thoughtful glance and starts to continue her explanation,

“This is the only footage of The Red King displaying his power. He got the title ‘The Annihilator’ from this incident. The Place where this incident occurred was ‘Novasphere’ and not a single soul has set a foot there since this incident. ”

‘This incident’, huh! Meaning there were many incidents just like this in the past.

“Master must have figured it out already but the actual reason behind the daring Act from Chloros Family is because nobody has seen The Red King for more than thousand year. They believe The Red King has already passed away.”

“Oh! Is it a fact, or, Is some ‘idiot’ spreading those rumors?”

“Well It isn’t fully verified but considering a few things, It might even be true. The Red Castle, the most powerful battleship, can only be commanded by the Red King but It hasn’t move a single inch and is just drifting in the Vast Space. The Valkyries, who follow The Red King, known for their fierce behavior haven’t made a move either. So, It might not only be a rumor, after all.”

It seems the condition is far worse than I thought. So, He disappeared just after making the Space around the earth neutral. Is there any connection between them? I don’t have much information on him. There isn’t much I can do here as things are getting much bigger.

“Mei, What is the number of their forces?”

“The Chloros Family has full force of two million and more than Ten thousands battleship commanded by The Grey King, Seth Chloros, Head of Chloros Family. They also have few thousands of Energy Cubes too. Also quite a few families with the same idea of, getting rid of Red King and his followers, have gathered together. But the most powerful one is Madox Family, with force of a million in total commanded by Argo Madox, Head of Madox family. They directly serve the Chloros family. They only focus on quantity rather than quality, though.”

“It seems they have gathered quite a lot. What about their opponent though? How much do they have?”

“Well, after the disappearance of Red King, The Valkyries haven’t moved at all. There is also lack of data on them considering they haven’t participated in battles at all. But from the old data, It seems they had a force of almost two million and they had few other family under them, So It totaled a little over three million in the past. But a lot of families have cut ties with Them since the Disappearance of Red King. The only reason they haven’t made a move against them was they feared the two Draconian beings guarding the Red Castle. But it seems they have run out of patience.”

Draconian Beings, is it? Yeah...No. Let’s just call them dragons, shall we? .

So those dragons on that footage were the only reason they were holding back. But even with the help of those two dragons it might be hard for them to win. And If what Mei says is true and they don’t have the support of any other branch family than that might be a huge disadvantage for them. Sure, The Valkyries might have a lot stronger soldiers and must have grown a little but, Can they still win against force twice their size, though? I’m pretty sure even if I were to tell them this, they won’t back down. The people who follow someone Strong have enormous amount of Dignity and Pride. Even if they knew they would lose, they’d rather die while resisting to the bitter end than surrendering to the enemy.

Now then, What should I do? I don’t have even have the power to properly protect myself so, What can I possibly to do in this Enormous war? It seems I can only return to earth by somehow destroying this ship. While thinking that I sigh to myself and then speak to Mei.

“ Mei, It seems we can only return to earth. We can’t do anything here.”

I was hoping to finding some place livable in earth and spending the rest of my time peacefully. But as soon as I said that Mei erases all her emotions from her face. Then after a while she floats on the air. She was acting strange. With a wave of her hands she brings a big screen ahead of me. I was a little confused but I didn’t say anything. After that she stands beside, just like a maid. She had her eyes closed and she was standing still with a slightly lowered head. But Immediately after that the screen started to play a video. I couldn’t sense any emotion in myself but Seeing the video shook my heart to the core. Like always my face was emotionless but I could’ve swore I felt few drops of tears coming out of my eyes. The scene before me was devastating.

My home, Earth, was Destroyed.
