Chapter 3
Infiltration
I used all of my food and water that was with me. After a full day of rest I was ready. While resting I also scouted every single soldier and distance between them. I marked the soldier that was on the furthest from the hoverjet which was going to take them to the main ship above them. For now let's just call them battleships. I also realized that this was just a side base on patrolling the perimeter. Few kilometers away directly below the important looking ship which is in the middle of these big battleships, There was a dome-like structure and around it are more than thousand soldiers. Just what was in that dome which was as big as ten story building, I had no idea. I was curious to find out but I held back curiosity. Right now I couldn't bite more than I could chew so I was concentrating on how to take that soldier down. The battleship's door finally open and one of the hoverjets started to glow as if telling the soldiers it was time to go.
The soldiers all returned from their respective zones one by one. My target was also moving from his zone and I could see more soldiers, few hundred meters ahead of me. I had to do this quickly but stealthily. So I slowly moved behind him. Only few meters remained between him and me. I quickly moved behind him without making any noises merging with my surroundings. Currently I was holding my breath so my heart was barely beating and my temperature was just like the surrounding so it was negligible and couldn't be sensed by any heat sensors. However, If I were to lose my focus for even a millisecond, the sensors in the targets body sensors will alert him and I would be dead.
I quickly got behind him and took out my custom military knife. If the user was powerful enough and had good technique it could even cut metals. I jumped in his back and quickly took his mask off and immediately cut his neck precisely but powerfully to make sure his vocal cords were completely disabled. But It wasn't enough to kill him. He staggered into the ground but tried to reach for his revolver. I could cut his fingers off but I couldn't damage the body suit I was going to wear. So I quickly took out one of my handgun which was specially designed for assassination with a silencer on it and put it inside his mouth. Even before he could react to what I just did I quickly fire twice and with that he was gone. I had to hurry before I was the only one left in this batch. I quickly wore the body suit after taking it off from him. It was all done in 30 seconds. But before putting the mask on I deactivate some of its sensor like retina scan because it would be troubling if it scanned my eyes and alerted the battleship. I made sure everything was in order. After that I acted just like other soldiers and boarded the hoverjet. I was still concerned about the body of my target. When I wore the body suits, immediately after that I had thrown the corpse as hard as I could manage using my muscles and it had dropped just outside the patrol zone. But I know they will find it tomorrow in the daylight. So before they find the body and come after the intruder, me, I have to enter that ship and complete my mission of destroying this battleship. I know it wouldn’t affect their forces in the slightest but it was me being stubborn.

There was no problem in boarding the battleship. The batch I was currently was quickly ordered to move in our respective area. I was surprised I could understand their language but after few more seconds of thinking and tinkering with the mask I found that it has something called 'Universal Translator" installed in it. The most important thing I needed right now was, Information on my enemy. Till now I couldn't even understand their language so even if I could capture them there was no use but now it has changed drastically. I could ask or spy on people of this ship slowly gathering information or I could use the most effective and risky move of just interrogating the enemy soldiers. However, I didn't have much time on my hands because as soon as they found the body on the ground I would be busted and the entire ship will be searching for me and till then I wouldn't be able to gather enough information to cause enough destruction on this ship before dying. On the later option though, I could get information but I don't think these low level soldiers have enough information for me. So I have to reconsider my actions again and very quickly.
It's been an hour since I boarded this ship, meaning they still haven't found the body on the ground and if it goes just like my plan then the night will give me approximately five hours and then due to sunlight they will find the body. Now then after sorting through my thoughts I decided to use both methods. For the first two hours I will gather as much information I can get from these soldiers. If it's enough then I will move according to it If it's not sufficient I will move to the second plan, Classic Interrogation. Before boarding this ship I was planning to infiltrate places that are important looking or tightly guarded areas, which was just pushing my luck but now that I have other options which are much more reliable, I have to produce results.
Just as I planned, I started spying on people who were talking or ‘gossiping’. Yeah! They were seriously gossiping. It might be normal for them but for me, whose whole planet's population was made more or less freakin' extinct by them, these damn aliens and they still have the time to talk shit about other people behind their back, Yeah! You could say it was not normal for me. Anyway, after hearing few conversations I found some major information. BUT it was damn hard to make sense of these people's talking. So I had to constantly focus on single sentences to make most of it. Nevertheless I found some information about the ship and it's military. I also spied on some of the main officers who were giving orders when I boarded the ship. It seems they can give the most information to me compare to other ordinary soldiers.

So after an hour or so I found that the batch I was currently in is called Patrol Regiment Unit 256'Q'. As its name suggest it is a regiment of soldiers for patrol duty and has more than three hundred units in it alone. There are also higher Units such as company, battalion and elite, which was the most powerful unit on every battleship. Simply they are bad news to me. I heard this from the colonel and Major that are in charge of section 'Q' of the ship as they were discussing or rather gossiping and jealously watching the officers that commanded the elite unit. It also describes the 'Q' in the patrol regiment unit. In this ship Section are divided into alphabetical orders. If you want to enter into the main section of the building you need to have a rank higher than a Lieutenant. So basically military grade and ranks are 'almost' as in our planet However, it's not exact because the fact that they are wearing a mask with a air purifier and a universal translator means that they are not a single species. Also there are many lieutenant and colonel but the higher there rank is the more powerful and advance in technology their battle suits become. The higher there rank got the higher their technology in the battlesuit got. I don’t want to even think how powerful the elite soldiers and their commander were.
So If my guess is correct and these battleships follow same military grade than the most powerful rank must be a 'General' with high number of stars. I don't want to involve myself with a general considering he is the most powerful being in this ship. Nevertheless I have to accomplish my goal. But to get inside the main section I need to have a rank, which unfortunately I don't considering I am an intruder. So Either way I have to use my second plan. Now then let's go with the lowest rank, shall we? For the sake of destruction of this ship and completion of my plans I have to get my hands on one of the ranked soldiers. I search for a lieutenant which is the lowest rank on this ship. Then I finally found my target. I constantly followed very stealthily. After half an hour of following I finally found him alone just outside the restroom. This place is narrower than any other hall, only enough to fit four people at most and only few dozen meters in the length. Considering this is a battleship with many thousand military personnel in it and everyone is constantly moving around I was very very lucky as this is a one in a million chance for me to capture and interrogate my target.
So just when he was near the door to enter the restroom I made my move. I took out one of the most heaviest knife in my arsenal and without making a single noise, just like when I assassinated the soldier on the ground, I moved forward and With the dull part of my knife, I swing it as hard as I could on the neck of my target. I'm sure it won't kill anybody on these ship considering they have different type of body structure from Humans, but nevertheless this strike, which was powerful enough to kill humans, can at least knock them down. Just as I hoped the he passed out. However, In the future I would regret making this choice though.
