Chapter name: Awakening with a distant memory!

Zetsu walked up the staircase and stood on the huge magic circle.

“Huh, nothing is happening.” Zetsu commented.

Just as he said that, the magic circle lit up in light blue as small orbs of mana came out of the ground, all them joining together up the sealing becoming a giant ball of mana.

This is weird, but looks cool!

Then the giant ball started to morph into a human body. It became a giant light blue woman with dark blue eyes, long dark blue hair and small balls of mana surrounding her, she was at least 3 times the size of Zetsu and was wearing a normal light blue outfit with 2 golden bracelets on.

“Who are you?” Zetsu asked.

“I am..”

The Great Tower Spirit.

Rika!

“It seems like you are in a hurry, so let me ask a quick question before we begin.” Rika continued.

How did she know?

“Why do you wish to be awakened?” She asked.

“I am trying to find answers regarding an event that happened in the past, but I also want to be more of use to the people around me.” Zetsu answered.

“I see, by event do maybe refer to the Battle of Sokyo 5 years ago?” Rika suggested.

“Huh?” Zetsu reacted.

“So I was right.” Rika confirmed as she flew down before Zetsu making her size the same as his.

“How do you know about it and do you know something by chance?” Zetsu questioned.

“I know a lot, but I cannot tell as that is your motivation why you are here in the first place.” Rike answered.

“Oh” Zetsu reacted.

“Fun fact you have been the first person to awaken here after the incident of 5 years ago. It is nice to be able to talk with someone young again, now shall we start?” Rika proposed.

Zetsu nodded.

Rika closed her eyes as the circle gave off a light blue light that quickly changed into light green colour, around Zetsu a light green aura formed around his body as Rika opened up her eyes again.

I feel stronger now for some reason!

“Hmmm this is one of the rarest types of magic that I have seen, after I got transferred into this tower a few decades ago.” Rika commented.

“What really!” Zetsu shouted in surprise.

“Your magic type is source, one of the rarest ones. It changes the effect of your mana all the way to the core, usually meaning that it could block, resist or counter certain types of magic, but this is on a whole other level.” Rika explained.

“What is it called?” Zetsu asked.

“Pierce Magic, it is able to pierce through normal magic and anti-magic, but the catch is that your defence against all types of magic is lower than the average mage.” Rika answered.

“I mean no magic is perfect, I can live with it.” Zetsu commented.

“Before you go I have some advice for you.” Rika said.

“Think of something, maybe in your memories that gives you the ability to help you pierce through anything.” Rika suggested.

“Memo...ries…”

Zetsu looked up at the sealing.

7 years ago, Japan, Tokyo, Shibuya District

A mom and her child were taking a stroll during a cold winter day.

The mom had long straight black hair and brown eyes, wearing a grey winter coat.

They were walking until they reached a construction site.

"Mommy?" The boy asked.

Caring mom and Police Officer.

Ayase Nozumu

"What is Zetsu?" Ayase asked.

'What is that thing?" Zetsu replied as he pointed to a machine.

"Oh that is called a drill vehicle, it uses a big drill in order to pierce through the ground or rocks." Ayase explained.

"Wow! It's so big!" Zetsu said with excitement.

He ran ahead and stood behind a fence looking at all the people working.

"Sweetie don't go too far ahead." Ayase shouted.

A construction worker entered the drilling vehicle, but when he turned it on, it started to move on its own at a rapid speed now, coming straight at Zetsu.

"Huh?" Zetsu reacted as he did not move.

"Zetsu!" Ayase screamed and started to run as fast as she could.

When the vehicle almost reached Zetsu, Ayase jumped and grabbed Zetsu dodging the rapidly moving drill just by a few inches as they dropped on the ground.

The driver of the drill vehicle managed to take back control over the steer and made a sharp left turn, making it roll over on the road as now it finally came to a stop.

"Sweetie, are you alright?!" Ayase asked while still laying on the ground.

"Yes." Zetsu replied as they both started crying.

Present

If it wasn't for the fact that my mom was alethic we both would have died that day.

A drill huh?

Zetsu looked at his left hand.

"Did you find something?" Rika questioned.

"Yes and before I go, I want to tell you something." Zetsu said.

"Hm?" Rika wondered.

"There are enemies trying to reach this place for research purposes, they claim they are good, but I just really don't know." Zetsu warned.

"Thanks for the warning, but we great tower spirits cannot fight against mages directly, we can only support the good side if the tower is in imminent danger." Rika explained.

"Now go get them boy!" Rika encouraged.

"Right!" Zetsu replied.

Time to put my power into the test!

Zetsu used a magic spell.

Pierce Magic: Enhancement!

A light green aura appeared around Zetsu, as he started running.

Now I am faster than I was before!

After a while Zetsu reached Jiro who was still fighting Giju.

"Tsk."

"Having a hard time?" Giju laughed.

"Shut up you are only that strong because of cheap multipliers, without it you are nothing." Jiro replied.

Ugh his power knocked me all the way to the center of the stronghold. Jiro thought.

"As if the years I spent being weaker than the rest was fair!" Giju exclaimed.

Darn it, I cannot say he is wrong on that point! Jiro thought.

"Mister Gatekeeper!" Zetsu yelled from afar.

"Zetsu just keep going, I got this guy!" Jiro replied.

Zetsu ran past them as Jiro used a magic attack.

Fortifying Magic: Heavy Volley!

Jiro slowly shot seemingly heavy transparent white balls of mana at him, as Giju kept dodging them.

"What is the rush for I am not here for the stupid kid, I will crush him later. Reaching the tower is my most important objective!"

"Seems like you got your priority straight!" Jiro commented.

"Yeah I do!" Guji replied.

Guji charged a mana in his name.

"Now get demolished!" Giro shouted.

While Zetsu was still heading towards his destination, Kettei was still dealing with Buro.

Juggernaut Magic: Grenade Throws!

White magical grenades formed in his hand, while he took out the pin and threw them at Kettei, each time causing huge explosions.

Darn it, he is not giving me time to compress my power! If I do a large attack it could destroy the entire stronghold! Kettei thought as he was dodging all the grenades.

"What's the matter, top 10? Just stand still and let me end this quickly!" Buro said as he used another magic attack.

Juggernaut Magic: Homing Rocket!

A white magical rocket formed at the palm of his hands, as it locked on to Kettei, since he could not dodge it, he made a barrier successfully stopping the attack from hurting him, where he countered with a Nova Blast, but Buro evated it and used a defensive spell.

Juggernaut Magic: Protective Layer!

A white transparent layer formed around his body.

"Ha, try to damage me now bastard!" Buro taunted.

If it keeps going like this my All Round Enhancement will drain my magic completely! Kettei thought.

While they were shooting blasts at each other Buro started to speak.

"Tell me Kettei why are you trying to stop me, because all I want is another shot at becoming an imperial mage." Buro said.

"But look at how you want to achieve that, attacking people isn't the way. Why are you not satisfied with what you have now? We elite mages get good pay and important missions too, so why are you doing this?" Kettei wondered.

"Because I want more than that! This is how humans work, if you don't aim higher everyone will surpass you and you will be stuck at the bottom as weak, useless cannon fodder for the strong. Without power we are nothing and you damn well know that." Buro answered.

"But!" Kettei got cut off.

"Shut it Kettei, you wouldn't know because you were always strong from the beginning. It's a damn shame that you keep holding yourself down, even with all that great power. This is exactly why I hate you!" Buro said.

Zetsu finally made it to them and went straight for Buro.

"Zetsu!" Kettei shouted.

"Huh?" Buro reacted.

Please mom lend me your power!

Buro turned around and Zetsu was now before him ready to use a magic attack.

Pierce Magic:

Light green aura appeared around his hand.

Piercing…

The energy turned into a huge magic drill that spun around at a rapid speed.

DRILL!

Zetsu's attack hit against the layer as it had a crack that got bigger over time.

“Haaaaaa!!!!!!”

Finally an opening! Nova Magic: Maximum Compression! Kettei thought.

"You filth!" Buro exclaimed.

He used a strong punch against Zetsu, sending him flying for a few meters, before he fell on the ground.

Nova Magic: 25%

Kettei dashed towards Buro, he was too late to react to it as Kettei was getting ready for an attack.

Kettei kicked Buro in the air where he did a backflip and used pressure on his feet to jump above Buro, He then kicked him down again causing a small crater, where then Kettei charged 2 Nova Blast and put his wrists together creating an even larger ball.

Nova Buster!

Kettei shot a massive beam towards Buro on the ground causing a massive explosion.

After the dust was gone you could see Buro who had passed out, laying in a huge crater.

Kettei fell down exactly on the edge of the creator and slided down.

Nova Magic: Circle Restraint!

3 red magical circles appeared around Buro's body and tightened, making him unable to escape, then Kettei jumped over to Zetsu.

"Hey Zetsu, are you alright?" Kettei asked.

"Yeah." He said while standing up.

“Oh and nice magic.” Kettei added.

“Thanks.” Zetsu replied.

"I wanted to ask more about it, but there is one more enemy we have to take care of, so take a quick breather before we head off.” Kettei said.

"Right!" Zetsu replied.

Meanwhile Gjiu finally took out Jiro.

Mana Infused Punch x2.5!

“Gah!!”

I got bested huh? Jiro thought.

Giju punched Jiro right in the stomach where Jiro got sent flying and was unconscious on the ground.

"Now with that taken care of, time to head to the tower!" Giju said.

He used his thrusters to quickly move over to the Tower of Discovery and went into the main room in an instant.

“Come out, great spirit!” Giju shouted.

Rika appeared in front of him.

“Hmm you must be the one the boy warned about.” Rika said.

“I am not here to hurt you, merely to do some research on this place.” Giju explained.

“You see, I am typeless and wish to reawaken, but let me put your knowledge to the test. Do you know how many people are typeless in Shapan?” Giju asked.

“Easy 0.1% of Shapan’s population have no magic type and 0.0001% have no mana at all.” Rika answered.

“Correct, when I awakened a few years ago, YOU were not present.” Giju replied.

“Because I didn’t need to be, the tower does it automatically ever since it got created.” Rika explained.

“But you can also do it manually right?” Giju asked.

“I can.” Rika responded.

“Then do it now!” Giju commanded.

“Have you ever wondered why we would never do that? The 0.1% is known to hold a magic type that could be dangerous to society!” Rika wondered.

“So that’s why! But I do not have any bad intentions, I just want to prove my worth! All the pain and suffering just to take no for an answer!” Giju shouted.

“You have no idea what I had to go through just to get here! Please I beg you, awaken me!” Guji begged.

“No, I stand by my choice!” Rika denied.

Giju took a big breather.

“Listen, we are not done yet, but before I can start doing my research, I need to take care of that man and boy.” Guji said.

He walked out of the tower room into the empty space.

Let’s settle this once and for all! Guji thought.

Meanwhile Hana, Daizo and Haizo gave them a thumbs up, as Kettei and Zetsu were ready to go.

“Zetsu, let's go!” Kettei said.

Zetsu smiled at Hana and the rest and ran off together with Kettei.

Time to prove that I am of some use!
