《Life of the dark god》Chapter 18 Midnight meeting

Before arriving in Sonya city, I sent Sandra back to the black continent. I told her she should rest and report to the others, but the truth was if she came with us, she would be no more than a bother.
I showed Hiro and Hayate a little bit around in Sonya city, before returning to the academy. They had to wait for a teacher to take the same test I did at the entrance of the school. I wasn’t worried at all, after all the test was really easy. At least for me.
My first and foremost destination was my room, or better, my bed. I was extremely tired of the past few days and instantly fell asleep. It was the first day of school week, but I didn’t want to go to class. I probably wouldn’t learn anything anyways.
When I woke up, it was already dusk. Still half asleep and almost out of reflex; I left my room and went downstairs. My body automatically headed towards the park. The usual place where Takeshi and I sometimes met.
I took my time while walking and only arrived when the moon was up. I sat down in the grass and waited. I was fully awake, but I still waited. I had no idea how long I needed to stay, nor why I should do so. I only had the feeling that I should wait there until something would happen.
While I was bored, I thought about ways of using mind magic, or about the strange explosions. I came up with some ideas, but it was better not testing them at school, because they were merely ideas and I didn’t know the effectiveness or range of destruction.
Quite some time passed, while I quietly sat there.
“So you were already here?”(Hayate)

Finally, something happened. I already got bored, because of waiting. My ideas where already as far as they could be thought without trying out anything and listening to the wind and other noises were only able to entertain me for a short time.
“What do you mean with already here?”(Me)
“After Hiro and I passed the stupid test, we were introduced to our classes. Hiro is in the same class as Dragon and after school they decided to meet here at midnight.”(Hayate)
It is already midnight?! How much time did I waste here waiting?!
“So where are the others?”(Me)
“You weren’t in class today, so Takeshi said to split up and search for you, but I already gave up and went to the meeting point, which is here by the way.”(Hayate)
“Where did you search for me?”(Me)
“In your classroom.”(Hayate)
“When you knew I didn’t attend today? Wait a second… In which class are you?”(Me)
“2-C.”(Hayate)
“You know that’s my class.”(Me)
He just gave up before even trying. That’s quite the motivation to find me.
“Well I found you so it doesn’t matter.”(Hayate)
“Where are the others?”(Me)
“Human went to your room, but he should soon be here and I have no idea where Dragon is.”(Hayate)
“Wanna try something in the meantime?”(Me)
“If it’s magic or something like that, no thank you.”(Hayate)
Instant denial. It depressed me a little bit.
“Come on. It isn’t dangerous at all.”(Me)
“No.”(Hayate)
“Please.”(Me)
“No.”(Hayate)
I bet Takeshi said some unnecessary things about my magic experiments.
“It seems Hayate found you already.”(Hiro)
“More or less.”(Me)
Hiro was the third to arrive.
“Any idea where Takeshi went?”(Me)
“Nope. After he said let’s split up, he disappeared. But it’s almost midnight, so he should be here soon.”(Hiro)

“I hope so.”(Me)
I didn’t want to wait another five to six hours.
“What are you guys talking about?”(Takeshi)
Shortly after we started talking about him, he jumped down from a nearby tree and we were finally complete.
“Now that we’re all here let’s discuss what to do now.”(Me)
“Actually we are still missing someone, but I told that person to come a bit late.”(Takeshi)
“I thought it’s only us four. Did you already find Spirit?”(Hayate)
“No. You’ll see.”(Takeshi)
“If you say so.”(Hiro)
“So what’s the plan?”(Takeshi)
“As far as I understood going to the Spirit continent and hope for the best. Right?”(Hayate)
All eyes focused on me, because it was my idea to begin with.
“Plus taking an escort mission or something like that to have an excuse to leave school.”(Me)
“Yeah. I forgot.”(Hayate)
“Yes. It’s the only thing we can do right now.”(Hiro)
“Ok.”(Takeshi)
We discussed the main topic fast. My idea was accepted by the other three without any complaints, so we moved on to other things.
“I heard there was an explosion. What was that about?”(Takeshi)
All eyes focused on me again.
“Can’t you guys do something without me?”(Me)
“You said you’ll look into it.”(Hiro)
“That’s not really helpful.”(Me)
“But you did say so.”(Hiro)
“Sigh. I’m still investigating, but I at least I know that it was more like parts of the wall were teleported away than an explosion where everything got destroys.”(Me)
“Teleported away?”(Takeshi)
“As I said it’s only my theory. It’s like they were taken away.”(Me)
“What about the explosion then?”(Hayate)
“Probably the rest of the wall crashed down, but I have no idea how it would be possible for the remaining stones to disappear into thin air after falling to the ground.”(Me)
My explanation just confused them even more.
“I’ll inform you as soon as I come up with a better explanation.”(Me)
“Ok. Is there anything else?”(Hiro)
“No. I don’t think so.”(Me)
“Good. If we finished our talk, we can wait here now. She’ll arrive soon.”(Takeshi)
“I’m not gonna wait another hour.”(Me)
“I really want to know now. Who are you talking about Dragon?”(Hayate)
Takeshi seemed nervous and kept looking around, as if he was searching for something or someone.
“There she is.”(Takeshi)
It was dark so the others didn’t recognise the silhouette, but my trained eyes did. As soon as I saw her, I shot a questioning gaze at Takeshi.
“I hope you have a good explanation for this.”(Me)
Takeshi could only sigh, while the other two didn’t know what was going on, until she stood in front of us.
“I’m sorry guys, I’m late.”(Sakura)

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
