《Life of the dark god》Chapter 25 Important announcement

The next day I woke up with an aching back. I practiced writing runes through the night and fell asleep on the hard and cold floor. I could improve my writing speed a little bit, so it was worth. Sylphy hadn’t woken up yet and I didn’t want to wake her up. I silently stood up and moved to the door.
“Don’t leave me behind.”(Sylphy)
She said when I walked in front of the door and was about to leave. I turned around and checked if I woke her up, but she was probably just sleep talking. I opened the door and in the next second the spirit who was lying in my bed the before, passed by me.
It took me a moment until my mind came back to normal. I followed after her as soon as I could. The problem was, she was fast. Insanely fast.
“Good morning, Hikaru.”(Takeshi)
On my way out, I passed Takeshi, who was near the staircases and watched everything. He looked rather down to me, but I had to catch Sylphy.
“Sorry I don’t have time now.”(Me)
I ran after my prey. Down the stairs, leaving the boys dormitory and through the park. I had no idea what got into her, or where she was going, but she just kept running. If I hadn’t run laps every day to train my body, I would have never been able to hold up with her speed.
“Sylphy stop this instant!”(Me)
She didn’t seem to hear me and just kept running at that insanely speed. I followed her inside the main building. When we reached the 2nd floor, she looked like she found, what she was searching for and headed straight for a door. I have never been into that room before, so I had no idea what was behind it.

The closed door suddenly opened. I couldn’t see who opened the door, because Sylphy crashed into that person the next second. I stopped in front of the door.
“Are you alright?”(Me)
I got no reply. I had to look. I opened the door and went inside.
An angry Amelie was staring at me. While she seemed angry, she was holding Sylphy in front of me, like she was showing some pet to his owner. How did I know she was angry? Her smile is normally that of a normal person, but at that time, it looked more like she wanted to kill someone with it. Luckily, no one else was present.
“Care to explain?”(Amelie)
“I don’t know either. Sylphy just started running here, the instant I woke up.”(Me)
“So her name is Sylphy. What is your relationship with her?”(Amelie)
“Formally slave and master. But I’d rather say something like friends.”(Me)
“Do you have any idea why she was running to the teacher’s cafeteria?”(Amelie)
When I heard that it was obvious why.
If I’m not wrong the last time she got something to eat was the apple yesterday. I have no idea what she got to eat as a slave.
“Perhaps she was just hungry?”(Me)
“And why was she targeting my breakfast then?”(Amelie)
When I looked closely, Sylphy was eating something.
“No idea.”(Me)
I couldn’t explain the situation at all.
“I mean she isn’t some kind of spirit, right?”(Amelie)
“Ah. Why do you ask?”(Me)
Seriously what does that have to do with her behaviour?
“Sigh. Spirits can’t resist honey. The biggest problem is with wind type spirits, because the range of their senses is much wider than others.”(Amelie)
“Why does teacher know so much about spirits?”(Me)
“It’s better you don’t know too much. Let’s make a deal. If you keep quiet about me knowing so much, I’ll keep quiet about your little spirit here.”(Amelie)

I began to ask myself if every teacher of that academy had to be feared, or if it was only my luck, as soon as she proposed that deal with an ice cold voice.
“Deal.”(Me)
She put Sylphy down, which finally came back to her senses. When I asked her, she couldn’t remember anything. I could only sigh and we left the teachers cafeteria.
“Tell me before, if your race has some weird traits.”(Me)
I said angrily.
“Sorry.”(Sylphy)
“Sigh. Let’s go to the quest board of this academy. I haven’t been there yet.”(Me)
“Why?”(Sylphy)
“I was an adventurer before I came here and from experience, I can tell you, most quests are fun.”(Me)
“The D and E ranked quests were fun?”(Sylphy)
I really wanted to brag about my real rank, but if I did, she would ask me further questions, which would be annoying. But, it could also get dangerous, because for most people, the adventurer Darkness died on the black continent. I wanted that rumour to be the truth for the while.
“Sigh. Let’s just go.”(Me)
We left the main building and went to the guild building. It was another huge complex. It was a combination of all 3 kinds of guilds. All the quests were on the 1st floor.
I stood in front of a board for quite some while to decide between 2 quests, when Sylphy pulled my sleeve.
“What?”(Me)
“The guy from this morning.”(Sylphy)
She said and pointed in the direction of the entrance. He was coming our direction.
“Forget about quests for today. Follow me to the hall, you are the last of the 2nd years. Sigh.”(Takeshi)
“Why?”(Me)
“Apparently the teachers want to make an important announcement, so all students have to be present.”(Takeshi)
“What about Sylphy?”(Me)
“Who?”(Takeshi)
“Her.”(Me)
I pointed at the spirit.
“No problem, she can come too.”(Takeshi)
I was a little bit down that I couldn’t do quests that day. We followed Takeshi to the hall.
“Do you know what that announcement is about?”(Me)
I asked him on the way.
“No idea.”(Takeshi)
We arrived at the hall and went inside. It was huge. From the outside, it looks like a normal building, like every other house, but the inside looked like it could provide about 1000 people with seats.
Sakura and the others only reserved 2 seats. After I explained everything more or less, who she is, we decided that Sylphy should just sit on Sakura’s lap.
“Dear students, thank you for attending today.”(?)
It started shortly after we sat down.

Marrow
Marrow was old... older than me or you. Older than the nation he lived in. And older than anyone he knew. Which is not surprising, because he did not know anyone else. He had been sitting, or perhaps leaning is the more apt expression, in a closet for many, many years, and had done nothing but stare. But eating, or rather chewing, a spider opened up another world to him. A world with a voice that was talking to him - to HIM! Marrow did not get what the voice was saying, but that was secondary at this point. And Marrow started to feel restless. Nuff said. If you like a sometimes quirky skeleton as the main character and want to ride along for its coming of age, or perhaps rather coming of sapience story... give it a shot. It is a litrpg context with skills, levels, heroes and monsters... and a skeleton. Not sure yet how fast the skeleton will level... we'll have to wait and see. As a disclaimer... this is my secondary novel... my main story is ongoing and most of my time is dedicated to that. As such, new chapters will, at first, be rather infrequent and irregular. If things go well, I may shift more attention to the story, but we shall see how things go.
