《Life of the dark god》Chapter 9 Exchange through the night

“Well the hunter and the prey finally meet each other. Am I not right Takeshi Dragon?”(Me)
After I said those words, Takeshi put up his guard and made a serious face. He did a fighting stance and looked at me like he needed to kill me, even if it would be the last thing he would do. I noticed that he would really get serious when he collected mana from the outside and attacked me.
“Oy, oy, calm down, I am not here to fight.”(Me)
I said while barely dodging his fist attacks. He definitely wouldn’t calm down as his attacks got fiercer and fiercer. I would have been able to beat him easily if I got serious, but that wasn’t my goal.
“Stop it, I am not here to fight against you.”(Me)
“What else are you trying to do by threatening me? Playing a game with me?”(Takeshi)
That was actually exactly what I wanted but I couldn’t tell him that or I wouldn’t have any chances to calm him down anymore.
“How else was I supposed to find you?”(Me)
“Why do you even need to find me, who the hell are you?”(Takeshi)
I really hated it that he could think of an answer in a matter of seconds while I needed a lot more time. Probably because I needed more concentration on defence than he needed on offence.
“If you would stop your attacks first, I could tell you.”(Me)
“Why should I believe you, there are a lot of people who would misuse my trust.”(Takeshi)
“You have a point there.”(Me)
I knew a lot of those people, so I could understand him. However, I needed him to listen to me somehow, I didn’t have the luxury of thinking about past events. By the way he wasn’t the only one who wanted answers to his questions.
“Let’s do it like this than. You will start and ask me a question and when I answer it to your satisfaction it’s my turn to ask. This way you can still try to fight to your hearts content while I get to talk to you. It’s a win-win situation.”(Me)
“How should I know if you wouldn’t lie to me? I don’t know anything about you and you even know my true name.”(Takeshi)

Come on how can he have so less trust. I should be the one who shouldn’t trust him based on my experiences. He seemed a lot angrier, perhaps because of my little taunt?
“I will not talk to you. That would be exactly what you want, while I don’t get anything at all, right. How could I trust someone again after what happened to my foster family?”(Takeshi)
And here I thought he wouldn’t talk to me, but it seemed as long as I stayed silent and let him attack me, he would tell me about himself. That was 1 of the few moments where I was grateful that he talked so much.
“It wasn’t enough that my parents died, no my foster parents needed to be betrayed by their closest aids, too. Do you know how it feels to see your loved ones getting killed right in front of you while you can’t do anything at all because you are too weak?”(Takeshi)
“I…” (Me)
I was interrupted before I could answer him. Tears started to form in his eyes.
“I already lost 4 people close to me, I won’t lose another one. They were killed because of greed for fame and money, while I don’t even know what happened to my real parents, all I know is that this name is cursed and now someone comes here and just casually spits out my name. Do you know how I feel?”(Takeshi)
“No… I.”(Me)
I was interrupted again. It was a sad story but only thinking about someone’s own situation, while not listening to someone else’s would not be the right thing to do.
“No you don’t know how I feel. Was there someone you lost who was loved by you?”(Takeshi)
“Sure there were.”(Me)
“If you can say that so casually I can’t believe you. Who would love you with such a personality? I saw how you are, while we showed you around today. You barely talk or show any emotions, while keeping every though to yourself. If not needed you wouldn’t interact with someone else. No one would be stupid enough to trust you right?”(Takeshi)
When he finished, he noticed that he said something wrong. Because of him telling his story, he got carried away and said all sorts of things, which wouldn’t have bothered me. But he stepped over 1 line he shouldn’t have.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to.”(Takeshi)
I lost my mind for a split second and before he could finish his sentence, I moved in front of him, using my black mana as a booster and already with a simple sword, which I took out from my [space inventory], in my hand. In an instant, I closed the distance of a few meters and was pointing my blade at his neck. If I hadn’t snapped out of it, I would have killed him in a matter of seconds.
“There are things that shouldn’t be said, remember that.”(Me)
I said with an angry expression and retracted my sword.
“Are you finally going to listen to me, now that you finished your story and insulting me.”(Me)
He nodded and swallowed the words he wanted to say. He seemed rather nervous, when he saw me being angry.
“Let’s say now we are quit and start with the question and answer game. You can go first.”(Me)
“A game? What if someone doesn’t want to or can’t answer a question.”(Takeshi)
“Then the other 1 can ask another question.”(Me)
“Ok then I will go ahead and ask the 1st question. Who are you?”(Takeshi)
“Specify this question please. Asking me who I am has wide range.”(Me)
Our game quickly changed into an interrogation. We both kept as calm as possible as to not leak any weak points to the other.
“Then for starters, what’s your name? As you know, I don’t mean your first name.”(Takeshi)
Right of the bat an important question, but from his reaction I would be able to see how much he would trust me, so it wasn’t that bad of a situation for me.
“My last name is Demon.”(Me)
“Again you answered without even thinking about it. You could have told me anything now, but I’ll believe you for now.”(Takeshi)
“Eh?”(Me)
I wasn’t shocked that he answered, but shocked by the fact that he answered like that. I needed some time before I could continue, I always try to predict my enemies but his lash reply was rather unbelievable, I mean right before him stood another bloodline of gods and he just said “I’ll believe you for now”? I didn’t think much before a question shot out of my mouth.
“You. How much do you know about the race of gods?”(Me)
When I mentioned race of gods he looked me in the eyes. He probably thought about how trustworthy I’d be, but as I shot out 1 secret information about him after another, he thought that he hadn’t much to hide from me. So that time was probably to think about what he could and couldn’t tell me.
“What an awkward question? To be honest, I don’t know much about my own race. The only thing I know is that I am from that race and that people from this race can only have 1 single child. I don’t know more, my parents never told me and I only know that much because I asked why I don’t have any siblings.”(Takeshi)
That info can’t be true because I have or had 2 but it won’t do any good to tell my story now, when he has no plan what we are.
“Ok, than this whole thing here won’t work. Let’s end this interrogation for now, the sun will rise soon and we have school tomorrow. I’ll tell you later about everything. Just so you know, I am also from the race of gods and there are 3 others beside us, which I am searching right now. Their true names are Spirit, Beast and…” (Me)
I got interrupted again. I take it back that I was thankful for his talkative character.
“Human, because I am Dragon and you are Demon right?”(Takeshi)
“Yes.”(Me)
I sighed and answered. Takeshi looked satisfied with my answer and after he was sure that nothing would happen to Sakura, we went back to our rooms and, at least I, went to sleep.
