《Life of the dark god》Chapter 7 First day of school

I stood there not knowing what I should do with such an awkward reply from most of my classmates. Luckily, my homeroom teacher caught up quickly and rescued me from the stare of 15 children.
“Well thanks for your short introduction take a seat, I will start explaining everything regarding this year. Keep your questions for Hikaru for the break please and you are all in the same class so support each other in the future.”(Amelie)
She smiled and I was really thankful to her for covering up my awkward introduction. I did as she said and took a seat in the back near a window. When I sat down everyone looked at me.
“Now, now, please don’t pressure your new classmate like that, I am sure he will answer your questions in the break. By the way does anyone know where William’s gang went again?”(Amelie)
When she saw that no one knew where they went she gave up and continued.
“As far as I know all of you have already picked their side courses. Some of you the same as last year while others new. As you guys know, you will hear every other important info from your course teacher.”(Amelie)
She clapped her hands and smiled.
“Well now that we don’t have anything to do on the first day, let’s see how much you guys improved with your control over mana.”(Amelie)
Please don’t ask me to do the same. Please don’t.
As if she read my mind she looked at me.
“Because you came late Hikaru, you have to catch up in magic studies. Homeroom is just basic information, which everyone should have. Like mathematic for example. I will arrange a special library card for you so you can catch up with everyone. For now just watch your classmates.”(Amelie)

I was relieved that she didn’t want me to do more and just watched the other’s control over mana. They were all just letting a ball of mana floating in the air and were trying to act cool by letting it fly around. I watched some of them closely but they were nothing special and my students were a lot better than them, even in that stupid boasting about their skills they were better. After looking at all of them, I could say that the girl who bumped into me before had the most talent in at least mana control.
I thought that until someone in our class made a little mistake. One other girl who was clearly envious, tried to use fire magic, fused the ball of mana with the element of fire but totally lost control over it. Amelie didn’t notice at first and when she did, it was already too late. The ball of chaotic fire magic exploded. The girl with the good mana control got unlucky and was directly next to it.
The explosion hit most of the students, but the teacher was at least able to provide basic protection to those who stood near the explosion. Targeting more people for a spell is something rather hard, but that wasn’t the thing which caught my attention.
Shortly before the explosion occurred, I wasn’t the only one who noticed the instability. When I activated my mana shield to defend myself against unnecessary damage, I noticed a stare and someone definitely used a high class mana shield to protect the unlucky girl nearest to the explosion. Because of the smoke, I wasn’t able to see who it was, but at least I know that we had a special individual in our class, who was trying to hide his skills.

When the smoke lifted, everyone saw that the classroom was half destroyed. Windows were broken, desks burnt and everything else near the explosion was also gone.
Poor books, which I will never be able to read, rest in peace.
Amelie was nervous after the smoke was gone, because there could have been students hurt and that was more or less her responsibility. But as I saw the situation, with her providing basic protection and that special individual protecting that girl, no one should have been hurt from such a little explosion.
There were only 1 or 2 girls that were slightly injured and had to go to the infirmary. The girl who tried to use fire magic was scolded for her stupid attempt and we others were released from class.
I was really interested in going around school but for that I would have needed a guide, otherwise I would get lost again. Luckily, because I was knew, a lot of people of my class came to me and asked some basic questions. For example my favourite colour, which was black, or why I was 1 year late, etc. I answered those fast and tried to organize me a guide. To my disappointment, most of them already had something to do.
When all hope seemed lost for me, a group of 3 people came to me and suggested guiding me through the school building. 1 of those 3 was the unlucky girl, called Sakura and when I showed them a look like a hungry wolf would after not being able to eat anything for a long time I got angry gazes from the other 2 of the group. The 2 others were both boys. 1 called Haruto and the other 1 Ryo.
They also only told me their first names, because actually your last name was something like your true name and you shouldn’t tell it someone you didn’t trust completely. The only people who would go around shouting around their last name were idiots and nobles.
Sakura went outside first and after she left I got some serious stares from the other 2. To let them not hate me, I declined their suspicious, pointed in Sakura’s direction, smiled and said.
“Don’t worry guys I am not your rival.”
They directly dropped their angry act and we started to get rather friendly with each other. We met up with Sakura outside. When we arrived, I could see someone else waiting with her.
“Yo Haruto, Ryo. I heard what happened from Sakura just now. Are any of you hurt?”(Boy)
“Luckily no one got hurt that badly.”(Ryo)
“That’s good to hear. Ah, by the way I see a new face. Let me guess you were the person who came 1 year late right? My name is Takeshi, nice to meet you.”(Takeshi)
“My name is Hikaru, nice to meet you too.”(Me)
With that our short introduction was over and they guided me through the school grounds. We went around and I saw almost everything of Sonya academy in a single day. What exhausted me even more was, that those 4 were really too talkative. When someone started a conversation I had the thought of killing that person because that conversation would need hours to end.

Pillars Between Us
It started with the dent left by the Forest Sprite; A small crack in the ice that encased his memories. Curtis knew that something was off, realizing that he wasn’t who he thought he was and— perhaps Ellis wasn’t the one meant for him. --It's a fantasy novel set in a world where people inhabit on pillars-- (think of m*necaft sky block, you'll get what I mean) -- then give it a hint of action, mystery and (twisted) romance-- and it's influenced by Japanese fantasy light novels (cuz I read a lot of em'). But I'm sure it's a weird one cuz the style of writing isn't the Japanese to English translated kind of style but rather the orthodox English novel kind of writing (which includes a bunch of errors and broken English thanks to me!). In any case, if you're up for it, just beware the story starts out pretty slow.. I mean-- back then, I was still inexperienced ok! I'm gettin' better along the way, Hmmph!
