《Life of the dark god》Chapter 5 Test

I was woken up by a shrill noise. When I opened my eyes and looked around, I noticed that the noise was coming from a little box, which was displaying an odd number of 7:45. I had no idea what it was but after I pressed the only button, it finally shut up. I wasn’t able to sleep again afterwards, so I stood up. I wanted to leave but before I opened the door, I saw a sheet of paper beneath it. I picked it up and read it. I actually had to decipher it because the handwriting was really crappy.
“Know your place and go back to the 1st year truant.”
Whatever
That was the only thing I could think about that note. I burned the paper with fire magic, left the room, went downstairs and left the boy’s dormitory. The guy who guided me the day before was already waiting and before I could bombard him with questions he shut me short.
“My name is Harrell Klein and I am a magic teacher of Sonya academy. I know you have a lot of questions but keep them to yourself, as I am not your personal guide. Follow me your test will begin as soon as we reach the testing ground.”(Klein)
What an unfriendly fellow he was but I just quietly followed him until we reached a remote hall and entered it. Inside there were a few people, a desk with a seat and some sheets on the table.
“First please fill out that test of basic knowledge, afterwards we will test your magic affinity.”(Klein)
I did as he instructed and filled out what I knew. A lot was just basic mathematics, while another part was answering some basic questions about magic and such. The last part was common knowledge and probably easy points. Unfortunately not for me as I had none. When I finished I gave the sheets back to them and when they finished assessing it, they gave me and awkward look.

“You passed, but you really neither know the name of our capital nor the name of our king?”(Klein)
“Nope, no idea.”(Me)
I smiled at him and he replied with a sigh and we went on to the magic affinity test in which I had to hold myself back a lot. I passed it with ease would be nice to say but I had a hard time trying to refrain my mana from overflowing. Luckily I had a basic understanding of how much mana a normal kid with 11 years would have. Mostly because of the children back at my island.
After I passed their tests, Klein gave me a card similar to my guild card.

“This is your student card, keep it save because it will bring you a lot of advantages when you have more points. You should decide on the 2 side courses you want to take first.”(Klein)
He handed me a sheet which listed about 40 names, all the side courses which were available. I looked over it a few times and there were 3 side courses which especially picked my interest. Crafting, cooking and painting sounded nice, but were not that important to me to learn. I didn’t need more than the weapons I could make myself, the food I could take from the island and painting was only interesting because it annoyed me that my students laughed about my skills.
Unfortunate Klein said that I could only take 2, so I had to decide. The first thing, a magic I have never heard anything about called rune magic. The second was martial arts, while the third was something similar called Ki arts. It was a hard decision and when Klein saw that I would take some time to decide, he got impatient and showed it on his dissatisfied face.
“Have you finally decided? If you can’t decide in the next 10 seconds I will pick 2 for you.”(Klein)

In the end I went with rune magic and martial arts for side courses.

“A really odd combination but not really my problem. Your class is room 2-C, your homeroom teacher will tell you were your other courses will be. You should hurry up by the way your classes will begin at 9 a.m. If you have any questions ask your classmates and don’t bother the teachers. The only rule you have to follow is that you are not allowed to kill any students, the rest is up to you.”(Klein)
With that the teachers turned around and left. I stood there for some time until I remembered that my class will soon start. I had absolutely no idea where room 2-C was and to my disappointment there was no map nor anybody else I could ask where it was.
I went straight to the main building, passing some kind of garden, other facilities and a smithy. 1 thing I somehow knew was, that the round thing with numbers on the big tower in the centre of the academy showed the time Klein was talking about. If I understood everything correctly, I only had half an hour left to find the classroom.
When I reached the main building, I asked everyone I met, but most were in a hurry themselves, while the others didn’t want to bother. If all the teachers and students were that unfriendly, I would have had a hard time. Luckily, 4 other students, which seemed rather friendly, noticed that I was in a pinch and came to help me.
“What is your problem fellow student? My name is William L Matthews and I would really like to help a fellow students if possible.”(William)
“Sorry to bother you but I am kind of lost. It would be nice if you could tell me where room 2-C is?”(Me)
The one in the front who seemed like the leader of their little group suggested that they would guide me to the classroom. I simply smiled and replied with a nod of my head. I followed them inside the main building.
Before we entered through the main door, I felt something. I knew exactly what it was because I was confronted with it all the time in the past. It was a faint feeling of someone directing his bloodlust in my direction. I stopped and turned in the direction the bloodlust was coming from. Unknowingly, I leaked a tiny bit of my own bloodlust, which without a doubt scared the other person, because as soon as the other party felt my own bloodlust, he fled. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see that person.
“Is something the matter?”(William)
“No sorry, I was just in awe of how big this academy is.”(Me)
“Is that so?”(William)
He smiled turned around and I followed them inside again. We went through a big hall and I saw that Sonya academy had a lot of different classrooms. Some were open and I looked inside when we passed them. Sometimes I saw students start whispering when we passed them, but I was already familiar with that.
The group of 4 guided me down some stairs and we went through a door and entered a small room with some desks seats and a board at the front. After I entered, they closed the door and William said something, I already read the same morning.
“You should have known your place and start in the 1st year like everybody else would. Don’t hate us for what we have to do.”(William)
