I opened the bag and retrieved the 3 items it stored. I wanted to look if that was really my [space inventory] and if every book I took with me was in there, when I saw it. But when I afterwards, saw her letter I put away the box and focused on reading her note. It consisted of 3 pages and she wrote a lot.

“Dear Hikaru, when you read this letter I am already dead and was not able to talk to you about this. If that is truly the case, then I wasn’t able to tell you the truth and I am really sorry that you will get to know who I really am through a simple letter. The information this letter contains may sound unbelievable but it is the undeniable truth and I hope you will understand everything when you finish reading it.”

I had no idea what I should think about the first part of the letter. What was she talking about? I couldn’t find the answer to that question so as to not waste my time further, I continued reading.

“In order for you to understand what I am about to tell you, you have to first know who I really am. My name is Kylie Bricksl, I am 19 years old and I am a demi-human. My parents died shortly after I was born and I was raised by a nice old granny since then. I lived a normal live until I reached 13 years in age. At this point you will probably have a lot of questions.”

I had a ton of questions, which sadly, I wouldn’t be able to ask her anymore. When I thought that she was now dead I got depressed again and needed a short break before I could continue.

“I am coming from the future with the mission to save you. In my world, you will die with the age of 9 but the reason or date of your death was never known. But the real problem starts later. I assume, you know how old I am. As soon as I would have turned 19 years old, the world will meet its end and the only chance is a certain someone who died far too early. In order to stop the enemy, the combined power of all 5 Gods would be required but because you died, we failed to oppose him.”

Only 5 Gods? What is with the remaining 5? What are they going to do when that happens? And who is him?

“When I was 10 years old the granny which raised me died because of her age and because of depression I wasn’t able to work for money. I got enslaved by someone and sold to the human race. After 2 years of being a slave, I got dragged on a new found island as cannon fodder and almost met my end there. The humans used a ritual which went out of control and killed almost everyone on the island. I would have been no exception but then I met you. You had no will of life anymore. Your eyes looked like they lost all their trust, but when you saw me in a similar position, you used your remaining energy to save me and told me to live on. Afterwards, I was suddenly able to use magic. I trained more than anyone else to get stronger so no one I knew had to suffer anymore. I reached the S rank with the age of 17 and received the title “Child of Darkness” because I mainly used Darkness magic.”

That was a lot of strange information and I needed to comprehend everything first. But she wrote that I would understand everything at the end of the letter so I continued.

“With you died the last bearer of the name demon and the race your family created went berserk and attacked the whole world. With a temporary alliance, the other 4 races were able to stop them but as soon as they succeeded, we were hit by the next enemy. We were unable to win against him because we were still weakened from the war, so with the remaining energy we sent someone back in time to save you, so you could save the world. That certain someone was me Kylie Bricksl. I was selected because I was the closest person to you who was still alive then and because I was in possession of your mana.”

Slowly everything started to take shape but a lot of things remained still unclear.

“Before the fight started, at the strategy meeting, I could talk to Dragon and was able to learn a few things about the race of gods. First of all, every one of the younger generation has exactly the same age. The next thing, all of the older generation went missing after you turned 6 and no one has ever seen them again. And lastly, all parents left something in this world for their children. But only Dragon and Beast found theirs. Dragon received a spear that can pierce every armor and Beast got a spell book on how to travel to the past, which was also the reason we succeeded with the time travelling.”

When I thought about it I had even more questions. What was Lucy doing or why was my father alive then? Until there, everything was written in blue, but from there Kylie probably switched to a black pen. Also, it seemed like she wrote from there, as if she would write a diary.

“I am 6 years with my body and have a rough understanding of the world’s affair now. My memories must have taken a shock somehow, because I am not able to remember everything. I definitely know that someone strong will come and we need you to defeat him but I forgot who it was.”

She wrote a few more lines like how she forgot things and that I have to focus on training for the future but nothing more.

“As you will first appear in 2 years, I will do everything to get an academy invitation for you for the school, Dragon attended to. Afterwards, I will travel to the south to the beastmen continent where you first appeared to meet you.”

That explained the invitation. The letter only continued with what I already knew.

“Today, I finally met you. You looked exactly the same as I remember you, except you had much more livelier look in your eyes which made me happy. After you went away to train, I searched a few minutes and finally found your [space inventory]. By the way keep your good ideas on the usage on magic up. As far as I can remember, your [space inventory] was the reason why space magicians were regarded highly in my old world.”

I will continue and perhaps someday I will create magic which can bring people back to live.

“I don’t know why but my memory loss is getting worse by the day. I already forgot granny’s name and perhaps I will forget mine soon. I hope that at least you won’t forget me.”

I didn’t know why she never told me anything but I thought that she would perhaps mention it later.

“Congratulations on becoming an A rank adventurer. I really treasure the time with you because I have lots of fun, even if you don’t talk much with me. I will probably forget most of it anyways but I hope you will at least remember our time together.”

I could see that Kylie’s messages got more and more emotional.

“Dear Hikaru, if you read this, I was probably not able to tell you this myself:”

That was the end of the second page and I went to the last page. When I reached the last page and read what she wrote, I dropped the sheets and started crying.

“I love you.”
