《Life of the dark god》Chapter 21 Discovery

After waiting a whole day, the humans really did make signs of movement. They gathered all their fighting force together and prepared to leave. It was morning and the sun has just risen. Kylie was on guard duty during that time and quickly woke us up.
“Destination?”(Rose)
Kylie shook her head. We knew that they were looking for something, the problem was our lack of information, as we didn’t know what or where they were looking for.
I felt relieved that the man we let go the day before didn’t lie to us but something else made me feel unwell. The man we captured was on guard duty and he didn’t return to their main forces, why didn’t they search for him? It stuck to my mind but I couldn’t find an answer. It was like they gave away their plans on purpose. Like they want us to follow them.
“Something doesn’t feel right.”(Kylie)
“Agreed, let’s move anyways.”(Rose)
We all nodded in agreement and followed them. We needed to leave enough space between us not to get noticed but as less as possible, so we could catch up every time. We were going through the forest, passing tree after tree. Sometimes we came across some animals. I have never seen those but there was no time to look at them further, which depressed me a bit.
The human army left their camp behind with no one remaining. They were walking for a whole day straight until they halted their march. They destroyed everything in their way. On the path they took nothing was left standing. Trees got cut down, animals killed and plants trampled.
They halted their advance when they reached a huge mountain. From what I saw I would guess it is almost the middle of the island. During their march, the humans were not confronted by any other race, probably because everyone made plans to follow and swipe them of whatever they were looking for. Now that I think about it, what was our plan again?

“Do we have a plan?”(Me)
“Now that you mention it we don’t have a plan. Kylie, Rose did you come up with one?”(Matt)
Kylie shook her head. We 3 had no idea how we should get past an army of about 500 humans and swipe the thing they are looking for. With high hopes we were looking at the always silent Rose.
“Improvise.”(Rose)
Ok we didn’t have a plan but that didn’t mean we weren’t able to come up with one. While staying at a safe distance, we observed the humans. After hours of watching them I noticed something. They were only and I mean it, they were only humans. No beast or beastmen, no dragons, no spirits, definitely no demons and nothing else, only humans.
“Do they think that humans are that much better than the other races? Are they that confident? If we would just have a human with us, perhaps we could let him infiltrate them.”(Me)
To my bad luck, I said my thoughts out loud. When I realised what I did I looked at the others and they were smiling at me with a lot of malicious joy. And then came the “you reap what you sow” expression.
“Yeah, if we only had a human we could let him infiltrate you are so correct. Ah now that I think about it, aren’t you a human Darkness?”(Matt)
I only looked at them annoyed.
“Shut up, I’m gonna do it so don’t get on my nerves any further please. If something happens or I fail, I will just run away.”(Me)
With that, I stealthily walked into the crowd of humans. When they noticed my arrival they just looked at me for a second. 3 of them were coming over to me to ask of my adventurer card so I gave it to them. Everything they could see was my name and race anyways.

“Darkness? What an odd name but who cares anyways. Welcome on board man. Are you a missing person or a new comer?”(Man)
I didn’t know what just happened or what any of those meant. I just answered relaxed.
“New comer.”(Me)
“Ah ok. For your information, we arrived at our destination a few hours ago and will entre tomorrow, as to what it is you will see sooner or later and we are not allowed to talk about it. Good I wish you the best luck.”
I didn’t know what the last sentence meant. The man nodded, all 3 turned around and went away. I was relieved that the infiltration was more or less a success but what surprised me was that the security was that bad.
I sat down next to someone else and stayed quiet for a while. After some time I couldn’t resist anymore and asked what I needed to know.
“Hello, I am a newcomer and I would really like to know what we are searching for?”(Me)
The man glared at me clearly annoyed. I just smiled at him hoping he wouldn’t just burst out in anger and shout at me.
“It doesn’t matter if you are new or not. Everyone knows almost nothing. The people from the upper class and front won’t tell us anything. As far as I know, we are probably searching for some kind of legendary sword or something like that. Rumours say that the first princess foresaw that humans would find a dangerous weapon here. Some other said that she foresaw a catastrophe on this island.”(Man)
He made a short break and looked rather thoughtful before he continued.
“A friend of mine worked as a castle guard before this mission so I guarantee that both Rumours are true. But the princess made a third prediction. She said that chaos will befall us as soon as we would try to kill a human. Which is also why the security is so lax and as long as you are human you will be accepted and welcomed.”(Man)
After that he stood up and also went away. I didn’t know why but somehow every human I could see acted weird. They acted like it was their last day or something like that. When I suddenly stood up everyone present got scared and acted like I would start an attack.
Until the night came, I sat on a bench the humans prepared when they stopped their march, to rest. When the sun went down and most of the people went to sleep, I slipped past the security, some people sitting on a bench half asleep, and met up with Kylie and the rest.
I told them exactly what the man told me and that something was not right.
“At least we now know that they are searching for some kind of weapon. I don’t think we will get more information from them. You did a good job so rest for now we will share the night watch between us 3.”(Matt)
It somehow annoyed me that he acted like the leader but his words were true. I was thinking about what could happen tomorrow, what the catastrophe, the chaos or the weapon could be.
After lying down for a few seconds I went into the land of dreams.

The Faction Contributor [Sci-Fi LitRPG]
While casually studying for his upcoming university exam, Aven suddenly felt the world around him start warping. It started with flashes of light appearing from nowhere, quickly escalating into his whole world becoming an absolute mess of flickering pixels and chaotic color flows, as if reality had become a malfunctioning glitched screen. What he could recognize as numbers, letters, and strange symbols flew everywhere around him, obviously trying to form a coherent whole to be displayed before his eyes, but such attempts kept failing, again and again. Before he could even start thinking about how both mesmerizing and absurd this spectacle was, however, it all stopped, as suddenly as it had begun. Accompanying the end of this unique show, 2 things happened. First, knowledge had spontaneously appeared in his mind and he could perfectly understand it, as if it had always been there, just inaccessible. Second, a weird simultaneously hot and cold energy had made its apparition inside his body completely unannounced. Aven had just simply and purely awakened his innate ability and the energy potential of his cells, joining the world of the supers, a minority that had always controlled and protected the world since ancient times, by becoming one of them. *** Do you have a sci-fi itch to scratch?
