As they got closer to the pharmacy, Lei Xing suddenly stopped and looked at Xiao Ting and the others and then looked around, then walked towards a hairpin stall, dragging Xiao Ting with her. The moment they got to the stall the saleswoman perked up and beamed a bright smile at them, Lei Xing smiled back.
"Xiao Ting, what do you think of these?"
Xiao Ting looked at the selection, "hm, they are not bad."
"Not bad? I think you haven't really looked at them...so stay here and examine them closely, okay?" Lei Xing said as she pulled her hand free from Xiao Ting's.
"...but..."
"You stay here and pick out something for me, I'll just quickly go to the pharmacy quickly...pick something as a good luck token for tomorrow...here's a hint, I like silver."
"Okay! I'll pick the most beautiful one" Xiao Ting said with a bright smile and looked closely at the selection of hairpins.
"I put my trust in your excellent taste..." Lei Xing said with a laugh, then left Ah Cai and two of guards with Xiao Ting and took the remaining one with her. When she got to the front of the pharmacy, she told the guard to wait outside and entered on her own.
She walked up to the reception desk, where a short stout old man was currently sleeping, snoring on the desk. She looked at him skeptically and cleared her throat to try to get his attention, all she got in response was a grunt and then resumed snoring.
"Excuse me, hello?..." the old man continued snoring. -_-)'
"Oy, Oy, there's a customer here...wake up!" Lei Xing said abruptly lightly hitting the table. The snoring old man jumped up and gaped at her, yawned, then scratched his head while looking around with a confused expression on his face...before squinting his eyes at Lei Xing...
...he must have thought he was at home in bed, I understand your pain T_T)'
"Oh! a customer is here...?" The old man perked up, seemingly awake...
"hahaha...you must not be very busy here." Lei Xing said with a hesitant nervous laugh...

...did I come to the wrong place?
"Nothing like that, it's just most people are blind." The old man said puffing up his chest with a proud smile."
...okay, I'll bite...it's definitely not because you are incompetent...
"Are you doctor Lou?"
"Yes, I am the famous Doctor Lou, my remedies are always efficient and effective cutting through your problems like water, you cannot go wrong coming here..." He said as he slashed an 'X' with a hand.
...water? water doesn't cut through anything...at least not yet anyway -_-)'...
"...So what I can get for you today? conception medicine? Oh, prevention medicine?..." the old man then leaned across the desk, and put one hand to cover one side of his mouth and whispered, "...abortion medicine?"
Lei Xing looked stared blankly the doctor Lou, who was smiling expectantly at her, and seemed a little too keen at the prospect of her wanting abortion medicine...
...I'm definitely in the wrong place...
"Is your specialty pregnancy?" Lei Xing asked flatly.
"No, but I am quite well known for my womb's touch." The old man smiled proudly, puffing up his plump cheeks.
...womb's touch? weird way to put it, but okay....
"Good for you..." Lei Xing said flatly, showing her obvious disinterest in his 'womb's touch' potency.
Doctor Lou sat back and looked Lei Xing skeptically, Lei Xing noticed his scrutinizing gaze and boldly returned it, also scrutinizing him. They both accessed each other from top to bottom and then bottom to top, and it seemed they somehow got into some sort of staring contest, waiting for the other to break first.
"Okay, you win..." Doctor Lou said with a pout.
Lei Xing felt a bit embarrassed.
...win? I have never felt so childish in my life...
"...so since you are not here for my womb's touch...what are you here for?"
Lei Xing raised an eyebrow a bit amused.
...why does he sound like he's sulking, Oy, you have a head and long beard full of white hair, so act like it!....
Lei Xing kept her thoughts to herself and smiled at the old man, "Ah, I was wondering if you knew much about poisons?"

Doctor Luo's eyes lit up again and he perked up and asked, "Poison? You want to poison someone?" Then he leaned forward again and put his hand to cover one side of his mouth and whispered, "...is someone trying to poison you?"
Lei Xing laughed and asked, "Why? are you planning on making an arrest?"
"What does a young miss like you want to do with poisons?" Came a gentle voice from behind Lei Xing. Lei Xing frowned at the interruption and turned to find the interloper. It was a young man, seemingly in his 20s, handsome refined features, wearing white robes lined with silver on the edges. His hair was tied loosely behind him and a small smile on his lips, he embodied the concept of the elegant refined scholar.
...Handsome or not, mind your own business -_-)...
Lei Xing nodded her head towards him in greeting and then back to the doctor Lou and asked, "So are knowledgeable about them?"
Before the doctor could answer, the 'refined scholar' interrupted again, "So what do you need poisons for?"
Lei Xing eyebrows creased.
...If your presence is ignored, can't you get a clue you are not welcome?...
"I don't see how it concerns you." Lei Xing said flatly without even looking at him.
"True it may not be my concern, but I am quite curious so do share."
Lei Xing ignored him, "Doctor Lou, are you?"
"I saw you earlier buying the slaves...I must say you handled that brilliantly, you have good bargaining skills."
"Oh, okay." Lei Xing said with obvious disinterest.
"How about you sell those slaves to me?"
"Not for sale."
"I'm sure you bought them out of compassion and don't particularly need them, so why not sell them to me where they can be put to good work."
...Who the hell is this human? -_-)'...
"Not for sale." Lei Xing was getting increasingly annoyed with this disruption.
"I'll pay you double what you paid, how about 30 taels of silver?"
"I'm not selling!"
"I'll pay you 50 taels of silver."
Lei Xing sighed and faced the man, giving him a blank stare and then asked, "DO I look like a slave trader or someone in need of money?" Before the man could respond, she continued, "No? then leave me alone. I'm sure there are several other slave traders in the city and I'm sure they would appreciate your offer."
"How ab-"
Lei Xing cut him off, facing doctor Luo, she said, "Doctor Lou, it seems you are busy right now, so I will take my leave for now."
"Ah?" Doctor Luo was confused, he glanced at the other man, who currently seemed to be staring in shock at Lei Xing. Lei Xing already turned and was walking towards the door, when doctor Lou shouted after her, "Miss, make sure to come back...poisons are also my specialty, I can be considered the poison king...you can't go wrong coming here, be sure to come back."
Lei Xing had left the store, leaving the refined scholar and doctor Luo behind. Doctor Luo looked at the man skeptically and stretched his neck and then asked, "Oy, young master, are you buying anything or are you chasing after the flower? You've made me lose business, you should at least invest some money here..." The refined scholar shot doctor Lou a cold look, his smile was gone, leaving a face void of emotion and giving one a cold and unfeeling ice-block.
Doctor Luo seeing his reaction, pursed his lips and shrugged his shoulders and put his arms back on the table to use as a pillow and settled back down to sleep.
The 'refined scholar' turned to the door and stared at it for a long time, before eventually walking out...
...I have never been dismissed like this in my life...by anyone...

Now if this change was a good or bad thing, he didn't know. But there was one thing Jacob knew for certain. He didn't have to mop the floors anymore. Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)

YAOS 1 - Limitless Adventures - Yet Another OP Story Book 1
December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and at Amazon. December 30th 2018: V1.1.2 of YAOS Book 1 is out, some content additions, fixed typos. Amazon's enhanced typesetting now displays tables properly. YAOS is shown through the eyes of some genius athlete getting OP inside a VR, ah wait, Full Immersion game, ?F.I.O?. Not a Hero, not a Nerd, just a driven individual paying for mistakes made, biding time until he can return to the Real World. He isn't defined like you'd normally do it, you can pick his looks and name all on your own, just like you do in video games. Believe it or not, keeping his looks undefined is harder than you think. His backstory isn't expounded in detail, but it drives his choices. Book 1 isn't about depressing sob stories but about fun and rushing forward, pursuing new horizons. Oh, and you'll end on a cliffhanger! Well, most serials do, so you will probably expect that without being told explicitly. But it isn't that bad, there's a lot of reveals and more to come once this book, that is the first in a planned three-part series, is finally ready for release on amazon et al. The published version will have: 1.) Godawful speaker tags, I hate them, they make you stop thinking and speed up editing so much. In hindsight they should have been in to begin with. But I stand by my goals proclaimed earlier. You guys should think while reading, that is the whole point of the exercise. Apply the knowledge and ideas, improve yourself, get creative! 2.) Pretty colored tables, the damned blue boxes, a lot of work, 69 in one book. Finally fixed amazon's centering issue. Can't say I liked the hours needed to debug that. 3.) The promised Mitara chapters. 4.) A cover! 5.) And lastly, updated polished versions of several chapters. MC shares more of his past, some terrible chapters (esp. 32) finally work. Some new scenes, minor rewrites in parts. Text flow and other issues. The current challenge is to maintain essential ambiguity while satisfying people wanting to know more without thinking three steps ahead. Balancing one with the other is tough. The smut which was in remains, but the story told is not to be superseded by it. A 15+ rating for the first book is also important, not to mention, YAOS wasn't meant to contain any smut to begin with. If the Author can turn to writing full time his output should increase, so please support YAOS #1 once it does finally release. ~Thank You~ No maps so far, that should be in, but is really hard to get done right. Again, tips are appreciated. Update September 2017: Stubbed chapters, sorry guys, currently don't have time to upload them elsewhere, polishing book 1 and 2, writing 3, takes precedence. Book 1 is in heavy editing, too much to keep synced and continuing editing. I'd need a site which offers JS-free rapid managing of chapters and comments. Coding one myself or setting a premade up is out of scope until I'm done with the books. RRL-old offered that, nuff said. This is only here because the author believes in fairies, nobody reads this, most likely. October to December 2017: Life threw some curveballs. February 2018: Book 2 draft 1 completed, at ~150K words. Book 2 is fairly epic in scope, requires 1 rewritten chapter, some editing. Tables and miscellanea are in, but needs at least a grammar pass. March 2018: Book 3 at 28k words, first arc, rest needs serious planning for spin-off and satisfying conclusion. July 2018: Yet another proofing/editing session of books 1-3, 101+ chapters, ~300k words. B3 at 48k, starts out great, but no ETA, no wordcount limit, in flux. But prioritizing my writing cannot be done, I hate the delays as much as you, but you will prefer the whole released in a timely fashion rather than wait. Knowing myself how excruciating waiting can be, at least you'll get significantly polished versions and an ETA on book 2 by release of book 1. December 23rd 2018: Book 1 is now up at Smashwords and in the process at Amazon et. al.. . To all who wait patiently, offered feedback, thanks again!

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
