Then after the breakfast was over everybody became busy in their own work and Yumi laid her head on my legs as I was sitting and enjoying her nap happily. Then as I saw the time, it was 11 am already. I then remembered that I had to visit my best friend, Keli. Then I asked Yumi, “Hey get up I have to go now to have a visit to my friend”

Then Yumi replied in half asleep state, “Raiht naw??”

“Yes, now.” I replied.

Then Yumi got off her head from my legs and too out a pillow to have another nap.

I prepared myself and went to the large tree near the forest area and as usually waiting for my best friend Keli. Then came a figure from a distant view, it was a beautiful girl of my age with black hair, medium skinned with sharp eye and a happy childish look, it was Keli my best friend.

“Hey Kate, why do you come early as always??!!!” she said in a tired yet childish tone.

“Well not my problem it always you who is usually late after all!” I replied.

Then as usually we enjoyed ourselves playing around and having fun around the area near the forest, but would usually avoid a certain area which my parents too denied me to visit.

It was already about to be evening. She asked, “Hey why are you so energetic today?”

“Could say that today’s my birthday.” I said in a casual and common tone.

“Whaaattt????!!!!” she screamed out.

“ Today’s your birthday and you didn’t even inform me about it?”

“Well what’s so special about it?”

“It is indeed a special occasion!” She said bustling with anger.

I replied teasingly to it, “Ok my bad, I am sorry milady.”

“Ah! Stop it already idiot, I am not in the mood to be teased. Hah! If only you could have informed me earlier.” Keli said making a swollen face.

“Ok, ok don’t get mad, next time I will inform you for sure.” I replied seeing her angry expression.

“But you can come to my home tonight, there’s going to be a party.” I said.

“Really??” She asked with excitement. “Then I will sure come by.” She was happy and joyous.

As we were talking, there came figures from the from the meadows side. There was a fat kid with short hair and face of a rich man along with another girl who was wearing rich accessories and was dark skinned with large bushy white hair. They both had bodyguards around them wearing weird black cloak.

“So here you went to hiding every day at this hour you bitch.” said the fat boy. “Hmph, and playing out and having fun with a lowly commoner village boy, even though you have a very low position in the family, at list don’t tarnish the name of the family.” said the girl.

“With whom I play with is none of yours concern, and don’t talk bad of Kate, he is my best friend and not some lowly and hypocrite like you both” She spoke out angrily but hesitantly.

I was unable to understand the situation so I had thought to better keep myself quiet and watch what was to occur and this indeed was a big mistake.

“Oh! Is it, you bitch!!!” shouted the fat kid.

“Knock this villager out and take him with us!!” the kid ordered the guards.

“No you can’t do this Tanze and Lena!!” Keli said furiously. “If you got a problem with me than deal with me don’t lay your hands on my friend.

“Oh you truly have grown a liking to this disgusting creature, you slut. The more of the reason to dispose of him.”

I started stepping back but one of the guards chanted something and I was unable to stand and fell unconscious and as I was falling unconscious, I heard the I heard the last few voices.

“Nooo!!!” Keli was shouting and trying to approach me but then the other girl named Lena interrupted, “Remain still if you know what’s good for that old hag.”

Then Keli froze and cried bitterly, “I... I am... so-rry”

I was unable to understand anything at that moment. Then after I woke up I saw Keli with the other two kids and the guards around. Keli’s face was blank and all the cheerful spirit that used to be there on her face was gone and other two kids we giving out an evil laugh.

Then said the fat kid named Tanze, “Bitch, if you know what is good for you than just finish off with it already and your long wanted wish to cure that old hag will be granted”

I tried to move but my legs and hands were tied tightly with weird ropes. “Don’t try wasting your energy you hypocritical mad villager, this is a rope made from nether rock, even if you try for your entire life time, someone you won’t be able to ever break out of it. It truly is your bad luck to get involved with this slut. Hehehe” said Lena.

““Keli... is not a slut... sh-she is my best fr-friend. Don’t talk I’ll of her.” I spoke with tiredness as I had almost not energy in me due to unknown reason.

“Oh, is it so, then let’s see if she would keep her end of friendship.” Said Tanze with an evil grin.

Then I turned towards Keli, tears roll out of her eyes and flowed through her cheeks and she murmured, “I-I... am tr-truly s-sorry K-K-Kate. I really... am!”

Then she pulled me with her and took to the edge of the land, I was unable to recognise this land structure and had never seen it.

“You must have known about right, after all this is the forbidden area your parents might have always talk of.” Said Tanze. “And this cliff is known as the endless abyss, you might not know, but the depth of the land below is unknown. Hehehehehe!!” said Lena.

Then I hesitated with fear and struggled. Then I pleaded, “Keli.. p-please, we are b-best friends... right?!!!”

“I am... truly sorry. It’s the only way... to save mom. I.. hope you understand.” she replied in broken voice which was caused by over crying.

Then with a strong pull was thrown into the abyss by my very best friend. This was the first time that I had ever faced betrayal in my life.

At that moment the hymns of the birds were interrupted by the screams of the crow, the sun was getting eaten by the distant horizon. The scream of mine could heard loud and clear through the distant land and the entire world was cut off from me that moment. It was something unimaginable yet something which felt like fate. I was not able to decipher what it was like as I kept on screaming that moment but yet my thoughts kept on pondering if this was the end, or a new beginning and why my very own best friend betrayed me. But there was one two things that I could feel and that is pain and hate.
