《Reverse Scale: Draconic Rebirth》Chapter 4: Meeting a Dragon
Advertisement
What shocked me was not how easily I killed those crusaders but that I didn't feel a thing while doing so. I guess I've really lost my humanity... Wait... are dragons supposed to feel anything while killing?
Guess not when I look at modern media...
Anyways, we are currently going to meet Mu's ex, the Ice Dragon Yukiara, who's apparently something like my great aunt. I'm kind of nervous to meet another dragon, but Yoru, one of the surviving lizardmen, says it'll be fine since she's apparently pretty easygoing.
(...)
Yeah, so we traveled through the plains and up a steep mountain path to where her nest is.
["N- not gonna lie, the view is quite something!"]
[Jill: "Say that again, when you're not clinging against Mu in fear of falling!"]
[Mu: She's right, can't you fly or something?"]
["I never actually tried, I have acrophobia!"]
[Jill: "Acrowhat?"]
["FEAR OF HEIGHTS!!"]
We continued to climb up the mountain path until a large manor came into view.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was an ordinary day for the Ice Dragon Yukiara, as she sat atop a throne-like Chair, only wearing a bathrobe in the audience hall.
Suddenly one of her guards, a large-built lizardman covered in light blue scales, wearing a butler uniform, entered the room.
[Lizard-Butler: "My Lady, You have guests."]
[Yukiara: "Who might disturb me in this time of the year?"]
[Lizard-Butler: "It is Mu. And he is in the company of three Lizardmen and one humanoid dragon."]
[Yukiara: "A humanoid dragon other than myself or my siblings? Alright then, let them enter!"]
She sat up and changed into a dress, which seemed to be made out of silvern scales. She Tied her snow-white hair up and began heading towards the main hall.

When she entered the main hall, she was already awaited by Mu and his company.
[Yukiara: "So, Mu. What made you come back?"]
[Mu: That is a complicated matter. Let's just get to the important part: The Village was burnt down by the Yon Empire-"]
[Yukiara: "So you want my help in your revenge, even though you left me?"]
[Mu: "No, that is not it. Yes, I regret leaving you, but at the time I had no other choice, my mind would have deteriorated if I had kept up with all of these senseless wars. No. The reason I am here is this boy right next to me."]
Mu pointed to the ashen-haired boy, with clearly dragonoid eyes next to him.
The boy didn't look all too special, his eyes and hair color aside.
He was wearing a pair of black pants and a cape made of fur.
[Mu: "He is your nephew, Ren. The son of Fafnir... And as you've heard the news, Fafnir has been slain..."]
Yukiara looked at Mu with a gentle gaze. visibly delighted that he didn't leave her with ill intent.
[Yukiara: "So, what do you want me to do with him?"]
[Mu: "I want to make him the next Emperor!"]
Ren looked surprised but didn't raise any complaints.
[Yukiara: "You propose something certainly interesting.
You have my attention. First, let me ask the boy a few questions."]
Ren looked up at the beautiful silvern beauty:
[Ren: "Yeah?"]
[Yukiara: "What do you intend to do with your life?"]
[Ren: "Hmm... I haven't really thought about this... Even though this is my second life... Well, if I had to guess, I'd say I want to make the people around me happy. I want to see the world and see new things, but with the people precious to me close to me!"]

The Ice Dragon ignored the comment about second life as if it hadn't been said at all.
[Yukiara: "I see, this is a good answer."]
Yukiara nodded in approval.
[Yukiara: "Very well then, my faction shall support you, boy!
But you can't go to the capital like that..."]
Referring to Ren's clothes, the dragon ordered her butler to come.
[Yukiara: "Modro, take his measurements."]
[Modro (Lizard-Butler): "Very well, My Lady."]
[Ren: "What do you mean Capital?"]
Ren didn't mind the butler taking his measurements and continued asking his questions:
Incidentally, the election was decided by a series of trials the nominated individuals had to clear. The jury was composed of some of the world's most influential individuals. The starting point of the first trial was at the Captial University. Here the nominated had to prove themselves worthy of competing.
