Character portrait 1: Bright Eyes

Below is my first real piece of art for this series. As I continue, I'll be making portraits of characters whenever the mood strikes me. I plan to post these independent of chapters, but I might occasionally go back and add portraits to important scenes as they are finished.
Our first candidate is the as of yet unnamed creature that both Doc and Harper have had run-ins with the last few chapters. In case you didn't get the chapter title hint, She's a sloth girl! I'm trying to keep her cute while going full alien in appearance, and avoiding a furry look as much as possible. I am not unhappy with the result.

If you're wondering why I didn't go with the obvious candidates, I will! But right now the brothers look too similar. I decided to let the weird traits accumulate a bit before tackling them. After that, I expect I'll update the portraits as people change.
Also, it's not a high priority, but once I have my look for the brothers nailed down, I really want to go back and work on a mock-up of the creatures from the facility. I could have some real fun with the bug man or the eyeballs.

I Need Time
An action, adventure, mystery and strategy story about a strong male lead. Author note: First time author, good amount of buffer chapters (over 50k words) so I will not drop this book anytime soon. This book will mostly be from the perspective of the MC. On average +5k words will be published per week. I have not chosen some of the genres and tags as I do not wish to give away parts of the story. I added the content warning tags as there will come a time for profanities, gore and maybe "traumatising" content. Though, in my opinion the content will be mild if not light. *****SPOILER*****SPOILER***** Synopsis: A college ICT student transmigrates to another world filled with magic and learns magic from a dragon. MC uses modern knowledge to develop magitech technology. MC starts his adventure using the technology he develops! Saving princesses, fighting hidden criminal organizations, learning how horribly medieval peasants live, reasoning with uneducated narrow minded people, investigating the nature of magic and searching for gods... Story review: A fantasy/sci-fi story filled with some common cliches yet presents somewhat original ideas and a few unexpected twists & turns here and there. This novel also explores a few of the commonly ignored topics concerning medieval fantasy like hygiene, culture, education(ignorance, narrow mindedness) and the fact that everybody is short because magical crops cost too much. Modern knowledge in such a setting can often times revolutionize the world if the protagonist is not an idiot or weak willed or thinks something stupid like he should not intervene in a society that systematically practices unequality of opportunity, slavery and other nasty things, of course sometimes the protagonist can be just unlucky by being enslaved, etc. In our case we are granted a protagonist who had an initial stroke of luck, learning magic from a dragon instead of struggling for years without it or randomly dieing. After that his luck goes down the drain. It is arguable whether the princess is a good stroke of luck or not, I digress. Anyway the challenges the protagonist must face will grow and no more luck or helping hands. After gaining enough power and security the protagonist will change the world for the better or at least give it a stronge push onto the right track. He will make a lot of lives better but things are never so simple and there is much more to this world than meets the eye... A girl’s luck changes when her world changes upon itself, sending her back and forth between a world she knows and another that shouldn’t even exist. Working with her parallel self from that other world, the two must adjust to their alternate form when visiting the other’s world, as they search for a way to escape the chains of misfortune they are bound to. While this story is the conclusion of the trilogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, as the world of Celese itself is no longer a place the characters will be journeying through. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for all previous books, in case that matters to anyone. This book has an additional chapter after the final chapter that represents the trilogy conclusion, and should not be read until all three books are read first. Fortuna Verto continues the events of Essentia Animus to advance society into a sci-fi interpretation of Celese, bringing events to a distant world of another star. At the same time, events interpret a real-world advancement into a similar sci-fi age of another planet that shares Earth’s galaxy, a planet that has also been linked by the Celesi Veil. English remains predominant in both worlds of the story, but the presence of both sides makes certain Aethyx terms stand out, while Earth-styled scientific terms will also stand in a powerful contrast. Instrumentation remains an important aspect of the Elemental Era, but the influence of the gift has grown distant after discovering the superiority of the elements. Harnessing the elements had eliminated some of the original limitations of instrumentation, allowing for a self-sustaining focal source that provides solutions to problems such as automation. This turns the development available from the previous modern-day sense of a fantasy to one that is deep-future. Finally, opening access to the passage across the veil will open this progress in comparison to a very similar deep-future parallel world without such fantasy elements, contrasting the laws of physics with the laws of elements in a convergence of time and space.
