Chapter Three
Was this all a dream?
Neville scolded himself inside his heart. Why didn’t he think about this before? This was a very big possibility. No, it was the only possibility.
It seemed that deep down inside his heart, a small part of him had wanted what he had previously thought of being transported to another world to be true. Therefore, he had subconsciously ruled out the possibility of this being a dream at first.
There was no other explanation. Suddenly ending up in the middle of nowhere, encountering strange creatures and having the Rinnegan, none of it made sense. Thus, the conclusion Neville had come to was that this was nothing but a ridiculous dream conjured up by his otaku mind.
Now that he realized this sudden fact, he somehow felt disappointed. But he quickly shook off such an emotion immediately. Being transported to another world and suddenly obtaining the power of the Rinnegan. This was something that could only happen in a dream. It was simply naive to think it could actually happen, Neville chided himself.
“Hmm, this makes a really good plot though.” Neville thought. He decided that once he woke up, he would make a web novel about this dream.
Since he had firmly accepted that this was a dream, Neville’s previous excitement of having the Rinnegan had vanished instantly. Now, he wondered what to do.
His eyes lit up suddenly and a smile appeared on his face.
Since this is a dream then I should enjoy myself before I wake up. I have the bloody Rinnegan!
Neville decided to have some fun. In any case, this was a dream so nothing bad would happen to him.
“First let me try something.” After pondering for a while, Neville decided.
Neville closed his eyes and held out one of his arms, his palm facing upwards. Then, he began concentrating deeply. A few moments later, a black rod began to slowly protrude from his palm. It continued to grow until it reached the length of Neville’s arm before it finally stopped and detached itself from Neville’s palm.
Holding the black rod in his hand, Neville smiled. This black rod was none other than a Black Receiver.

Black Receivers were something only a Rinnegan user could create and use. They allowed the user to transmit chakra to wherever the Black Receivers were.
Black Receivers could also be used as a weapon in battle. Stabbing an enemy with a Black Receiver would greatly restrict their body’s movements. If multiple Black Receivers were planted into the enemy’s body, then they would be completely paralyzed.
“Now what should I do?” Neville mumbled as he played with the black receiver in his hand, swinging it around randomly.
Right now he couldn’t use the abilities of the Preta Path and the Human Path as there was nobody to use it on. There was no point in using the Naraka Path and Outer Path too at this moment. So, that left the Animal Path and the Asura Path.
Neville decided to go with the Asura Path first. He concentrated for a while. Then suddenly his right began to change. It transformed into a mechanical form. An additional mechanical arm suddenly emerged from his right shoulder too.
Neville pointed his mechanised arm towards a tree. His hand suddenly transformed into a canon. The canon seemed to be gathering chakra as a blue formed inside it, which grew brighter and brighter. Then, with a loud bang, the canon shot a huge blast of energy towards the tree.
With a deafening explosion, the tree was completely incinerated. There was not even a little trace of it left. Moreover, some of the surrounding trees nearby had been visibly damaged too. A small crater had also formed where the target had been.
Looking at the damage he had created, Neville smiled in satisfaction. The Asura Path really had devastating power and the canon was not the only arsenal. Missiles could be launched and even the user’s hands could be used as projectiles.
“Okay, now let’s try the Animal Path.”
With the creature he wanted to summon in mind, Neville spoke loudly:
“Kuchiyose no Jutsu!”
With a poof sound, a large cloud of smoke appeared. And when the smoke cleared, the figure of a giant creature could be seen.
The giant creature had the same appearance as a rhinoceros, only it had an additional feature of two small wings on its back. There was also a giant chakra receiver on its forehead.

This giant creature was none other than the Giant Rhino, one of the Animal Paths’s summons. Neville gave it a command and the giant beast instantly obeyed. Now, Neville did not have to fear that the summoned beasts would not listen to him. He could also see what the Giant Rhino was seeing through the Rinnegan’s shared field of vision.
With this, Neville had confirmed most of his Rinnegan abilities.
As he was wondering what to do next, an earth-shaking roar suddenly resounded throughout the entire area. The might of the roar was so strong that Neville could even feel the sound waves coming from it.
Then, before his stunned gaze, he saw hundreds of strange looking creatures of all kinds rushing towards various directions in a frantic manner. It seemed as if they were fleeing from something.
Neville wondered what the heck was going on. Then, he heard that powerful roar again. This time it seemed even louder.
Since he now strongly believed that this was a dream, Neville did not feel any fear. Instead he felt quite excited. He decided to indulge himself while he was still in this fantasy dream world. Using his Rinnegan, he would battle against the owner of that mighty roar. Perhaps he might even rescue a beautiful maiden.
Thinking like this, he immediately began running towards the source of the roars. The Giant Rhino followed him, under Neville’s command, making the ground tremble violently as it moved.
Neville sprinted excitedly in the direction of the roars. On his way, he passed by various beasts, running in the opposite direction. There were even some ferocious looking creatures, however, at the moment, they completely ignored Neville. It seemed they were very afraid and did not have the time to care for him.
Finally, he arrived at the place where the terrifying roars were coming from. Even if this was a dream, Neville was still quite shocked when he saw the monstrous beast before his eyes.
The beast was a gigantic black lion with a white mane. It was as big as a school bus. Each of its legs contained extremely sharp claws that seemed to pierce the earth. It had blood red eyes which looked quite terrifying when combined with its vicious jaws which kept releasing powerful roars.
Seeing this huge and terrifying black lion, Neville felt a bit scared. But then he quickly reminded himself that this was a dream. There was nothing to be afraid of. And immediately after, his blood began boiling. He would slay this beast with his Rinnegan.
With a loud shout, Neville rushed towards the black lion. His hand held a black receiver which he had created just now. He wanted to stab the black lion with it.
The black lion seemed to have only noticed Neville now. With a roar, it shot a violet energy beam from its mouth.
Neville managed to block the violet beam with his black receiver. However, the force of impact from the violet beam sent him flying back.
Neville landed a few meters away on the ground with a thud. While he was groaning in the pain, the black lion had suddenly arrived right before him! It then raised one its claws against Neville, intending to slash him with it.
Immediately, Neville moved out of the way as the sharp claw of the black lion came slashing down upon him. Neville successfully managed to dodge the attack.
However, the tip of the black lion’s claw managed to graze Neville’s right arm. Although to the black lion it was only a simple graze, to Neville it was like a sword had cut him.
“Ahhhh!” Neville screamed in pain. A deep wound had formed on his right arm and blood began flowing from it immediately.
Soon, Neville’s right arm was drenched in blood. Droplets of blood fell from it continuously onto the ground.
Neville gazed at the bloody wound on his arm for some time. He could clearly feel the mind-numbing pain from it. Then, his eyes turned to the huge black lion that was now coming towards him slowly like a predator approaching its prey. Neville could hear its low growling.
That was when Neville finally realized it.
He had been wrong.
He had been very wrong.
“This is not a fucking dream at all!! Fuck!!”

Rebirth of Destiny I
In a world where magical runes called Rebirths rest in the hands of hostile nations, fourteen-year-old Aiden lived a quiet life in a small town conveniently named Khalm. Born with crescent-shaped irises and silver hair, young Aiden was never bothered by his unusual birthmarks until the night his life as a simple delivery boy changed. He was the 'Rebirth Destroyer', someone ruling powers deemed a threat. Chased by death and the foretelling of the world ending by his hands, Aiden soon finds that there are few people he can trust. My stories are fantasy-based and heavily influenced by classic Final Fantasy games ( by classic I mean 1-10 ) and other Japanese Role-Playing Games I used to enjoy, with one difference; the main characters are Black. July 2022 update! After months of deliberation, I've decided to continue with this cast of characters in the next books instead. The loose ends in this story have been keeping me up all night. I've gotten started on 2 sequels to this; Rebirth of Destiny II based on the good ending and the alternative ending. After I get a good backlog built up they'll be published once a week.
