“Yes dear?”

“I think I need to go to the hospital.”

“Why’s that?”

“My water just broke.”

“Oh my god!”

“How is she?”

“The delivery went great, your wife is doing just fine, and the baby has had no problems. Would you like to see your wife?”

“Hey darling. Are you doing ok?”

“Yeah, I’m fine. This wasn’t anything compared to what we’ve done before.”

“Yeah, your right about that. It’s crazy to think we decided to settle down and have a kid.”

“Yeah, well, all adventures have to come to an end at some point, right?”

The woman pry’s a smile.

“Well, it seems your daughter’s hair is an abnormal color.”

“Is it bad?”

“No, it doesn’t seem like it will effect her in any way.”

“Oh god, wait, don’t tell me.”

“What is it Mr.Renki?”

“It’s nothing. My wife’s family has a history with abnormal hair colors is all.”

“Ah, I see. Well I guess it’s fine.”

Off in the distance, I heard something. I think it was something my parents were saying.

“She might be... one of us, darling.”

“That... that can’t be right, I don’t want her to be thrust into that lifestyle.”
