《Path of the Lilies》65. Getting Out

tightened her grip around the girl as she smiled brightly to the man. “You did, just now.”
“What are you…”
“Chen Tian, do you really think that everyone is as stupid as you?” Ye Ai Xia gathered her Eon Energy in the form of wind around her. “Scheming against other people, sabotaging someone more talented than you, you can’t do anything other than scheming behind people’s back.”
“Watch your mouth, Ye Ai Xia!” the man, Chen Tian, warned angrily. He is the king and also the ruler of Chen Kingdom. Everyone should obey him and not go against him.
Ye Ai Xia smirked. “Out of envy, you always put the two of us at disadvantages. Putting up numerous excuses and tricks before trying to kill us. I’m thankful that Wei Shang was patient enough with me and enraptured by my beauty to the extent that I could bide my time here. You never thought that I can exceed the rank, did you?”
Chen Tian frowned. Reaching rank 4 always meant as an accomplishment because it was not easy to pass the rank. However, out of all the people in the entire world, the ones he didn’t want to pass this rank would be these two.
Ye Xiao and Ye Ai Xia.
The two of them have great talent and the fact that Ye Ai Xia could use elemental power right after she advanced just showed how much her talent that was buried because of his intervention. He hated this.
Only the Imperial Family should be the strongest!
“You’re just a pest, Ye Ai Xia. And you’ll forever be one!” As Chen Tian said that, the massive wall behind Ye Jiao fell down right to the woman.
Ye Ai Xia’s expression didn’t change. “Jiao’er, hold tight.”

“Yes, Mom.”
Wordlessly, Ye Ai Xia used her arm to gather the Eon Energy around her, forming a wind shield that protected the two of them. She could sense that her core was strained due to the battle she had with Wei Shang. The gap between newly advanced rank 4 and peak rank 4 was simply too big.
It was not easy for her to bypass the gap so easily.
The water splashed everywhere, flooding Wei Family Residence. Many people died because of the side effects, but not a single one of them cared about it. When people of higher rank battled, it was capable of destroying a city literally.
“I have to admit, you’re really talented,” Chen Tian commented when he saw the water dispersed, revealing the unscathed Ye Ai Xia and Ye Jiao in her arm. “But, how long can your Eon Energy last against me?”
Even among the rank 4, Chen Tian was undoubtedly could be categorized as the strongest one. Not like Wei Shang who was stuck at this layer because of his disturbed path, Chen Tian was stuck because he failed his advancement. Failing reaching the rank would push them back to stay in the same rank yet stronger than before.
However, trying to advance once more would be harder, so those who had failed would not try to advance again unless they were awfully confident.
“You don’t have to worry about that,” Ye Ai Xia replied calmly as she gathered Eon Energy from her surroundings. Her core was almost empty, signaling that she wouldn’t be able to fight anymore.
“You’ll kill yourself, Ye Ai Xia,” Chen Tian smirked. “Well, I’m sure that it would be nice sending both husband and wife to their death.”
Ye Ai Xia’s hand trembled slightly at the mention of Ye Xiao. Her eyes were filled with grief at the thought of her deceased husband. Indeed, her husband had died in the hand of this man and Wei Shang. The two of them would never let her go before her death.

But she would not make it easy for them.
“I see,” Ye Ai Xia raised her arm and commanded a massive amount of whirlwind around her to attack Chen Tian. At the same time, Chen Tian used the water to block, which caused water to splash everywhere.
The street was flooded heavily as many people tried to run away from the center of the battle.
“Ye Ai Xia!” Wei Shang has released himself from the building that collapsed on top of him just now. He looked at the woman with a heated gaze. “You’re not getting away!”
“Now, all players are here,” Ye Ai Xia smiled sweetly. Despite being cornered, there was no trace of fear in her face. It was as if everything was under her control.
“Mom?”
The soft call from her daughter tinged her heart, yet Ye Ai Xia couldn’t look at her daughter. If she did, she would hesitate from using this forbidden move.
“Eon Energy is the basic energy of everything, including blood,” Ye Ai Xia said calmly. “You should know about this, right?”
“What are…?”
At the same time that they wanted to ask, Ye Ai Xia had started a barrage of attacks against the two of them. Numerous wind blades appeared right at the same time. Given Ye Ai Xia’s current power, it was hard to believe that she still has this much under her sleeves.
Slash!
Both Chen Tian and Wei Shang did their best to use their elemental energy to block the attack from Ye Ai Xia. They could feel the intensity of the attack grew much before that they were forced to move back. At the same time, they also launched their attack towards Ye Ai Xia.
Water splashed through Ye Ai Xia’s body, but she was unharmed by them. Her eyes were looking back as calm as ever.
“You’re good, Ye Ai Xia,” Wei Shang commented.
Ye Ai Xia smiled. “Thank you for your praise. Now, you two have firmly broken the blood contract you signed before.”
Chen Tian frowned. “What are you talking about? The blood contract only states that we should never touch Ye Jiao…”
At that moment, both Wei Shang and Chen Tian’s face paled considerably. They could see that Ye Jiao has gotten wet. In that last massive attack, Ye Ai Xia only erased the force movement, making it like ordinary water. Yet, it still caused Ye Jiao to be wet. If something happened to her, they would have to face the repercussions.
“You-!”
“B*tch!”
Ye Ai Xia paid no heed to the two cursing words as she burned off her last strength and created massive tornadoes around her and set them off. The tornados were going wildly to every single place as she disappeared from her place.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
