“Dad, where are we going?” Ye Jiao asked curiously. It has been several days since the meeting with Su Lian and Wei Mi.
Ye Xiao looked at Ye Jiao. “Have you finished the training?”
“Yes, I did the set 5 times.”
“Can your body keep up?”
Ye Jiao scratched her cheek. Aside from feeling exceptionally tired because of pushing her body to the limit, she was mostly fine. However, she didn’t really understand her father’s inquiry.
Ye Xiao changed his question. “I mean, can you still move after 5 set?”
“I can, a bit.”
“That’s good enough,” Ye Xiao nodded his head and packed the fruits and some dried meat he had prepared before. “We’re going to the forest.”
Ye Jiao tilted her head. “But Dad, isn’t the forest dangerous?”
The capital was surrounded by wall for several reasons. One of them was to prevent the beasts around the capital to come inside. There were a lot of beasts in the forest, and majority of the areas in this place was still pure forest. Even inside the city, there were many residences that have forest like garden.
“It is dangerous, especially for someone like you,” Ye Xiao pointed to Ye Jiao.
Listening to her father annoying remark, Ye Jiao tilted her head to the side. “If it’s dangerous, why do you want to bring me there?”
“It’s dangerous for you but not for me,” Ye Xiao laughed. Most of the beasts in the area only has the strength of rank 3 Eon Energy master. Back then, he was already undefeatable among the rank 3, including the beast. After advancing to rank 4, it was obvious that they wouldn’t be his match too.
“What am I going to do there, Dad?”
“Watch and learn,” Ye Xiao’s tone turned somber. “You couldn’t fight and should never fight. All you have to do is staying behind me and watch me fight. This shall be the last lesson I give to you.

Last lesson?
The two words struck Ye Jiao hard. She stared at her father with her large green eyes. “Dad, you’re going to leave?”
“I’ll leave in a few weeks,” Ye Xiao patted Ye Jiao’s head. Before he left, he wanted to give his daughter the best training and memory possible. He didn’t know when he would return, or how much Ye Jiao would have grown by the time he returned.
Anything could happen, and he wanted to prepare for the worst.
“I see,” Ye Jiao’s tone was sad. She wanted to stay with her father for a long time. Every day with her father was fun and gave her sense of comfort. He would protect her and stayed with her, comforting her even with the slightest presence he had.
Ye Xiao patted his daughter’s head. “Don’t look so down. Come on, Dad will show you how Eon Energy Master fights.”
Ye Jiao’s eyes shone when she heard it. She didn’t know when she would become an Eon Energy Master, but she believed that she would become one soon. With her father known as a former genius in Chen Kingdom, she was sure that he could show her the best way of fighting. This was the privilege she had because of her father’s identity.
“Ok!”
After cleaning up, Ye Jiao excitedly followed after her father into the forest. Their house was located at the edge of the forest, which made it took a long time to venture deeper. Before this, Ye Jiao has never visited the forest. Her father warned her of the danger, so she didn’t try to get closer.
As for hunting, her father did everything by himself because he couldn’t possibly bring Ye Jiao inside if he was not confident that he could protect her.
“Dad, can all Eon Energy Master fight well?”
Ye Xiao shook his head. “Nope, not all Eon Energy Master train to become strong in fight. Those who know that they won’t be able to reach higher rank focus their mastery in using Eon Energy to help them become proficient in their future jobs.”

“Future jobs?”
“Yes. For example, a farmer’s son is going to study. He didn’t have high talent, only yellow or orange. He will not try to pursue learning how to fight the most. Rather, he will try to study how to make use of his Eon Energy better for farming to inherit his father’s business.”
“Oh,” Ye Jiao nodded in understanding.
Ye Xiao looked at his daughter. “Have you thought what do you want to be when you grow up?”
Looking at her father, Ye Jiao was at lost. Her father is a hunter, which primary job was to hunt beasts around the capital city and others. It was a good paying job, plus they could eat by themselves. However, for one to become a hunter, they have to reach rank 2.
Rank 1 would only court death if they try to become a hunter.
It was not impossible for her to become a hunter, but it meant that she would have to wait until she has become far stronger. Even though she might take shorter time than most people, it might not be for much.
“I don’t know, Dad,” Ye Jiao replied in honestly.
Ye Xiao chuckled. He didn’t hope for her to answer that she knew what she wanted to be. He himself never wanted to become a hunter, but this was the only work available for him if he wanted to survive. Other kinds of work would never let him live sufficiently.
“You should think well of what you want to do, but before reaching the necessary strength to pursue your dream, it’ll be good for you to learn many things. Knowledge is priceless,” Ye Xiao reminded Ye Jiao. By this time, the two of them have walked for quite some time into the forest. He stayed alert as he didn’t want to be caught off guard.
“What do you think I should learn, Dad?”
“It’s really up to you,” Ye Xiao scratched his head. So far, he had taught the little girl how to cook, basic farming, and basic physical training. He himself was not one to learn many things in the past because his attention was focused on physical training to become stronger.
If it was not because of his previous family condition, he would have never learnt the other two.
Ye Jiao looked at her father with confusion. She truly didn’t know what she had to learn. Everything she saw and knew depended on what her father had taught her so far.
“I won’t decide for you,” Ye Xiao sighed. “I’ll give you the review of jobs that’s available in the city. Of course, if you don’t want to pick any of them, I’ll not force you.”
“I understand, Dad.”
Ye Xiao thought to himself regarding the use of Eon Energy. As they were the basic form of energy, people have developed Eon Energy to help in their daily needs. It could be used for many things and soon, he was sure that they would completely envelope every area.
As for himself, he only used a small device that would produce light if given Eon Energy. Being an Eon Energy Master, it was easy for him to use it.
‘I guess, I’ll just leave her basic knowledge lesson to her mother.’
Compared to him, Ye Ai Xia used more tools with Eon Energy. Even though tools without Eon Energy existed, their number has lessened. Aside from children without complete mastery of Eon Energy, there were almost no one who still used them.
As he was pondering, Ye Xiao detected the presence of a beast not far from them. He smiled brightly.
“Jiao’er, watch and learn.”
