《A Sword Master's Travels (1)》Chapter 9 - New Friend

Fang walked along into the city in the trees. Behind him were the many fearful soldiers that didn't dare provoke him. In the short time that he walked into the city he had cut off at least twenty pairs of hands.
Shimmering lights created a mystical atmosphere amongst the gargantuan trees but it was strangely silent. The city that had been bustling before became deserted as the residents took refuge from the powerful human that had forced his way in. Fearful eyes peaked out at Fang as he walked up the winding stairs.
Up and up the stairs Fang walked until he broke the canopy of the trees. The sun was gloriously shining and Fang breathed a sigh of relief before frowning. "My emotions are going out of control. First it was the slime city now it's this." He had long ago taken notice of the chaotic power and its effects on his emotion.
It's difficult to avoid the adverse effects of the chaos element seeing as how it's part of his very soul. He would have to control it in the future.
Atop the canopy a gentle wind filled with the scent of nature blew through the top of the forest and the sun made everything seem more vibrant. The path that Fang was taking went out on top of the canopy and merged into a main path. Around him many paths also merged with this main path.
It stretched into the distance, a solid wooden road that was about ten meters wide. "This looks like it leads somewhere important." Thus Fang went further on his journey.
The gargantuan forest seemed to stretch on to the ends of the earth. Fang had been walking for around six hours before the sun set. Along the way he continued cultivating his insights into nature, unrelenting in his pursuit of perfection. When night came Fang sat down on the side to continue cultivating his body.
The strength of his body was beyond reckoning, at least to him, and it had no signs of stopping. Potent energy that was many times greater than before his soul's awakening continuously rebuilt his bones, muscles, and even brain. The rebuilding made his mind sharper and his bones and muscles more powerful.
Sometime during the night extremely faint rustles that were indeterminable from the rustling caused by the wind approached Fang. Luckily for the would-be ambushers Fang's anger had long ago faded away.
"I hope the fifteen of you approaching me are here to be friends. I don't feel like killing anyone right now." Fang spoke out. The faint rustling stopped and fourteen of them rapidly escaped the area.
The remaining person jumped out onto the main road, it was the woman that Fang had first encountered entering this "Forbidden" land. She approached cautiously with her weapons sheathed.
"Sir Fang I implore you to leave this land. There is nothing but tragedy awaiting you on the path ahead. Please, listen to me." She stayed a distance away from him.

"But how could I not see everything this place has to offer? Come, you should walk with me. Traveling is more pleasant when done with a friend in certain situations." Fang ignored the warning and tried to persuade the woman into following him. "Maybe I can find out why the hell they hate humans so much."
She shook her head before jumping back into the canopy. Fang's mirror image vanished as he intercepted the woman midair and brought her back to the main road.
"EEK!" She made an embarrassing sound while being slung over his shoulder. She immediately drew the dagger off of her belt and stabbed Fang's back with it. The dagger broke in half as if it hit a rock.
"I recommend you don't try to do anything more than that lady, or did you forget that I can kill you at will?" Fang threatened. The woman thought about how she hadn't even seen him when he moved and the hands that he had cut off before. She wisely stopped struggling, at least for a moment before she realized their intimately close contact.
Fang could feel her soft body slung over his shoulder and smell the fragrance of fresh flowers coming off of her. Luckily for the lady his hand was holding onto her back instead of somewhere else.
"UNHAND ME THIS INSTANT!" She shrieked and struggled. "I don't know, this does feel quite nice." Fang smirked at her struggling before setting her down. She immediately backed a distance a away clutching her body with her hands.
Fang laughed and smiled kindly, "You won't try to run will you? I just want to be friends, I swear on my honor!" He turned around and began walking.
Although there was no response Fang could sense her walking behind him. Thus they continued their journey in the night.
In the blink of an eye, five days passed as they walked. Fang told the stoically silent woman the stories of his adventures in his old world. Unconsciously she drew closer to hear his wondrous tales. During the five days she dared not fall behind and was becoming exhausted. Even for the most veteran of warriors, in this world at least, a five day march with no rest would be taxing.
The lady fell from exhaustion during the fifth day. Fang stepped back quickly and grabbed her, bringing her up in a princess carry. He could feel her soft body and pleasant fragrance. "Not bad at all!"
Fang continued walking with her sleeping form in princess carry, the sleeping delicate face was quite a charming sight to behold. Less delicately, her snoring was quite loud and saliva dribbled down the side of her mouth.
A good sleep and a day later the elf woke up with a start. She looked confused for a moment before once again freaking the hell out. Fang set her down and she looked at him with a face flushed from embarrassment, wiping the saliva off.

The elf looked at her clothing to see it was in the condition before and looked confused at Fang. "Who do you think I am? I would never force myself onto a lady!" Fang looked insulted at her confusion. "And I wouldn't let any lady force themselves on me..." He secretly thought.
A bit of walking later, "Where do you come from?" She suddenly asked a question for the first time. "Finally you've said something! *Cough cough* Anyway this might be a bit hard to digest but I'm from another world."
...
"What?! That's impossible."
"Its none of my business if you believe me or not. Now that I've got you talking, what's your name?" Fang quickly interjected on this rare opportunity.
At first she didn't answer the question but she had developed a sort of trust towards Fang. What's the harm? "My name is Ayda Eirhart V Keo-"
"Stop right there Ayda. What a nice name, I didn't know you were royalty."
"What do you mean?! I'm nothing of the sort!" Ayda suddenly look very flustered.
"Calm down I'm not going to take you hostage or anything like that. Who wouldn't know you're royalty hearing such a long name? Your reaction just confirms my suspicions, you're a terrible liar." Fang said.
He had guessed it a while ago, what with the ridiculous amount of soldiers that had accompanied her to shoot at him when they first met. Not to mention her special clothing and finely crafted bow.
Ayda was still suspicious for a period of time but went back to just following Fang as he treaded along the pretty damn long road. The first talk seemed to break the ice between them as Ayda said a few short sentences, usually asking questions about Fang and his world.
Finally they reached the end of the road. The city from before seemed like child's play in comparison to the behemoth of a metropolis that laid before them. A vast city stretched for miles, giant flat pavilions created floors between the towering trees. What seemed like markets and stores made their homes in these pavilions.
A great gray wooden gate protected the entrance and gray walls stretched in either direction to surround the city. Surprisingly only a few guards patrolled about on the walls with about ten guarding the great gate. They wore what looked like chainmail replaced with gray leaves and wielded large green bows.
"This looks like the capital of some country to me." Fang remarked. "This is the last bastion of the elves, Eirhart." Ayda said proudly.
"Last bastion? Perhaps thats why they hate the humans so much." Fang thought. The duo approached the gates.
A young male guard lazily looked up at the newcomers. "Welcome to the city of Eirhart, please give me your na-" He stopped and his eyes widened as he looked at Fang.
"SOUND THE ALARMS! THERE'S A HUMAN HERE!" The guard practically screamed out while he drew his bow and prepared to attack.
"Be silent! He's an ambassador here to see the king. We are heading to the palace immediately." Ayda firmly told the surprised guard.
"Bu... We will have an escort bring you immediately." He bowed. "No need we will head there independently." Ayda said. "Yes princess."
"I don't feel like dealing with all of the people. Where's the palace?" Fang said. "The palace is around fifty miles in that direction." She points. "What do you mean by not dealing with peop-"
Fang grabbed her up once again in a princess carry and went full speed in the direction Ayda indicated. In no time at all they had arrived a giant palace built with a variety of brightly colored woods. It took up four floors in the trees by itself, Fang had an easy time finding it.
They landed in front of the doors to the palace and the guards freaked out, but Ayda quickly calmed them.
"Where is my father? I need to speak to him urgently." Ayda asked. "He's in bed princess, we will send a message to him as soon as possible." The guard looked distastefully at Fang.
"Ayda, take me to your father. I don't know why you're taking me there in the first place but lets get it over with." Fang was still sticking with his go with the flow doctrine.
Ayda led Fang through a complex maze of rooms to what was presumably the entrance to her father's bedroom. Fang frowned, "So that's where those noises were coming from."
"Ayda, you might want to wait outside." Fang pushed open the elaborate wooden door to reveal a scene of debauchery. Inside was a very large and heavily decorated room. A large bed placed itself in the center of the room and it contained multiple inhabitants.
Many scantily clad women, some of them surprisingly human were constantly giggling and moaning. In the center of the cluster was a extremely handsome elven man with graying hair. He was playing around with the women around him.
Without even getting up from the bed he addressed Fang. "Who the hell are you? I wasn't notified there would be another delivery today."
Fang fluidly asked, "What deliveries do you usually get?"
The king looked a little annoyed, "What the hell are you asking? Women of course, what else? Get out of here delivery boy and tell the guards to go discipline the minister." He was clearly a little bit out of his faculties.
Ayda entered the room and a look of disgust crossed her face at the sight of the women. "Father, this is-"
"Sorry to disappoint you your majesty, I'm no delivery boy. My name is Fang." Fang grinned and a sense of danger filled the room.
Practice, practice.
