《An Enchanter's Tale》Chapter 38 – As a Prisoner

Frey opens his eyes, his mind in a haze. In the distance, a building was on fire.
Frey tries to get up, but a sharp pain in his chest keeps him down.
Frey’s movement caught the attention of the man beside him. The man crouches down and looks at him with a smile. “Well done, sir Prince. The package is gone and the inn was set on fire. Three of our men are dead from the attack. But you managed to stay alive long enough to take the blame for this. For that I sincerely thank you,” the man says, a very annoying sincerity in his smile.
“Who are you?” Frey asks, displeased at the man’s tone. If he was one of his soldiers, they wouldn’t dare talk to him like this.
“Me? I’m Major Raz. Colonel Reyle tasked me with supervising you in the shadows. You did quite well, to be honest; and no one could have expected a Grandmaster to show up here. Even if the operation went to shit, I won’t be taking the blame for it, so don’t worry. I’ll write a very flattering report,” Major Raz says, with that same smile.
Frey looks to Raz then to the sky before taking a deep breath. I need a vacation, Frey thinks to himself.
…
…
“If you’re heading back to Seer you should go back with me. I have to be there to accept the new members for Eden. Since you’re also a founding member, you should come back with me. I’m taking a ship South, down the Setting River into Seer. It should be more comfortable than going by carriage,” Articus says, observing Siyu for his response.
Siyu sighs before replying, “Go back yourself. I’ll take the long way home. I have to savor this peace while I can.”

Articus smiles and stands up. “Then I’ll wait for you,” he says before walking towards the door and leaving the cottage.
Siyu watches the door close before standing up, a dull look on his face. “I need a cup of coffee,” He says, a little disgruntled.
…
…
Siyu spends the rest of the day taking in the scenery and breathing in the air. Only in the night, when Sunshine was sleeping, did he leave for his journey.
…
…
A few days later, in the city of Jome...
Siyu enters the city and with a hazy sense of direction, arrives at the first inn he sees.
“Boys! Look at the balls on this one; he actually dares to come back! Quick, grab him!” A voice calls out.
“Huh?” Siyu exclaims, unaware of the situation. But before he could react he was already restrained by two bulky men.
Siyu tries to appear calm and says, “Hey, brothers; this must be some sort of mistake. I’m just a passerby. No need to be so forceful.”
One of the men chuckles, “We know exactly who you are, Siyu Grey. Follow along quietly. Our boss Dorian has been looking for you.”
Dorian? Dorian Feyle? Siyu thinks, starting to realize the situation. “Fuck,” He exclaims. It’s the Blooming Flower Cult.
…
…
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t Siyu Grey,” Dorian says with a smile from behind his desk. “The boss has been looking for you. And we knew for sure you didn’t die in that ambush,” Dorian says with slight annoyance.
Siyu simply stares back blankly with his hands restrained. I’m still alive, so this can’t be that bad, He thinks to himself. But these guys seem to know my name. I’m pretty sure I never used this name in the Blooming Flower Cult.

“After getting back to the city, we asked around about the bandits, and we found out that the day before we left for Seer, someone had been going around the inns and taverns telling people that he was doing a big job with merchandise that was worth hundreds of gold coins. Might you know who that person is, mister Siyu?” Dorian asks with a malevolent look.
Siyu was about to respond before thinking it would be better not to speak, but a hint of a smile could be seen on his face.
“Don’t fucking smile!” Dorian says, slamming his fist on the desk. Seeing Siyu looking to the ground Dorian leans back on his chair and says, “Anyways, the Boss already had someone look into you, and she knows you work for the king. If it were up to me, you’d already be dead, but she seems to still have use for you. So I’ll be taking you back to Gettid as a prisoner.”
Siyu bows his head once more and says, “I live to serve.”

8 997How am I Supposed to Save This World with No Power?
Wu Li was but a student trapped in a future he did not want when the Portal sought him out to become the Savior of an entire world. However, unlike any beings born in that world, Wu has not a single ounce of power within his body. Worse yet, he's the fourth one that's been summoned in history and he's got massive shoes to fill. How will he overcome his own powerlessness and become the savior that everyone expects him to be? With a beautiful girl acting as his slightly disappointed yet adorable guardian, a smoking hot rivalling bounty hunter from the High societies out to take his head, and countless other encounters along the way, Wu fights on to become the greatest of the four saviors, while seeding this world with...the principles of science. This is a story set in a world with a rich history of the magic power known as the Wave, and all native species are capable of interacting with the Wave to obtain power in a variety of ways. Think of this as a combination of Dr Stone and Black Clover! I am writing this story using similar structures to anime seasons, and the chapters in itself are structured more like manga chapters. The first two seasons are already planned out, and it is likely going to be daily upload (12 noon EST) of chapters from ~ 2 k words in length during the 'season' when there is backlog of chapters, with a week or two of a break in between seasons if no backlog. If you liked this story, please drop a rating and review. If you hated it, please drop a review and help me get better. Don't just spam a 0.5 rating and leave like a coward lol.
8 807The Fate of a villain (But not really)
But to be honest, he doesn't really want to be one. Assigned that role by a bored god looking for entertainment, he struggles with the past. Seriously, how much of an asshole could a dead man have been? As an imposter, the new soul possessing the body of a certain Francis Rayleigh, he tries his best to change that past image of his. Its not all simple though. Just because of his pretty face, it doesn't mean that life bows down to him. And to top it all off, a god, no matter how bored they were, is still by most definitions a god. Ultimately, on the grand stage of the world, will the fate forced upon him prevail? Without burning any villages, and trying to be as peaceful as possible, he hopes to avoid those hands of fate. No evil empires dancing on his palm, no conspiracy to rid the world of intelligent life. Not even a superweapon to turn the world's lives into his slaves. Just a man, found on the weaker side of life, trying to live. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: CONTAINS CROSSDRESSING, LGBT ELEMENTS It starts off really slowly, so take your time. Mostly just fluff, with plot sprinkled in. The action picks up in chapters 20+! Its somewhat episodic, but also a serial, if that makes sense. 8 80Everyone is a Superhero! Apart from me
Welcome to Loktharma, where everybody is a superhero from birth. That makes Eugene De Lavet the most special of them all. At eighteen years old, he still has no clue what his superpower is. Loktharma has never been a fair world. There are Worldbreakers who were born to brandish the power of the universe, warp time-space, destroy lands and continents. There are Craftmasters who control the elements and terrorize countries with their might and wits. There are Commoners who are only gifted with power for the finer arts, architecture, military arts, or small-scale elemental manipulation. Even in an unjust world like Loktharma, there is always one constant: everyone is assigned a Flair since birth; the power to do something extraordinary. And then there's Eugene. He's been running around in a secluded forest since birth, training and sparring his ass off. While he can wield a blade better than most at his age, he certainly can't throw a giant boulder using the power of his mind, or turn his skin into diamonds. He has no Flair, no purpose for leveling up his stats, and no idea why General Rizeni Baggardo keeps him confined inside a forest for eighteen years. At least until Lord Pyro—the Craftmaster of Tailiah—unleashes his fury on the forest, searching for a treasure Eugene doesn't even know exists. On a frantic escape for his life, Eugene starts to realize he was a part of something he's been completely oblivious to until now. Along with his companions, Melodi and Azra, he travels the land and unveils the secrets of the world. [The story will be told primarily through the lenses of three main characters, with occasional side character POV chapters. It also draws inspiration from Japanese shounen. So only proceed if you're cool with these aspects.]

When trying to save an injured animal while drunk you don't really expect many consequences. If you were sober, you'd likely expect to be saddled with a few bills and some work finding the owner. In either case, being saddled with divine duties by an ancient animal spirit is probably not amongst the things you expect. Neither did Eva when she picked up an injured canine after an evening out drinking with a friend to celebrate their arrival in Tokyo. At least those duties are little more than a part time job as a delivery-fox. And they come with room and board, as well as making her life that much more interesting.
