《A Sword Spirit's Journey in the Myriad Realms》Chapter 3 – The Commotions That a Genius Brings

When the phenomenon vanished, a lot of visitors had flown into Lone Peak, as they were curious, and baffled about the phenomenon.
Many rode their flying swords, some flew on their own cultivation, while some of the lower level cultivators were carried by their seniors as they couldn’t afford to miss what new achievement their Senior Brother would bring them again this time.
Light was known as the number one genius of the Sword Dao within the sect, and he always did things with passing colours.
When he entered the examination, in the free for all trials, he defeated all other participants by only using his one finger.
During the Heart Demon Trials, his Dao Heart instantly destroyed all the heart demons that appeared, and his radiance even destroyed the neighbouring heart demons of the nearby cultivators.
During the aptitude test, it was found out that he only had above average talent, but his comprehension even overtook that of the Sect Master’s.
Even his physique was the most optimized for Sword Cultivation in the entire Sect!
He also created his own sword technique which was judged as Saint-Grade by the Elders who cultivated the sword, and practiced it. When everyone asked how he created such a technique, he answered; “Is that not because I am a genius?”, which made everyone speechless.
And most of all, Light was most famous within the female cultivators. Why? It was because he was incredibly handsome. From the rankings that the scoundrels make during their free time about the sect’s top beauties, for some reason, Light’s name would always find itself inside the list. Perhaps it was voted by the dubious hidden group, or maybe it was to appease the female cultivators in case the culprits were caught. Or maybe it was both.
Light was a living legend within the sect. He was the idol for the younger generations, a dream Dao Partner for the women and some men alike, a subject of envy for the senior disciples and a role model to the entire sect.
And now, a phenomenon had occurred within Lone Peaks, so how could the disciples miss another historical event? How could the elders miss their chance to bootlick? And most of all, how could the Sect Master miss another event he could use to brag during the Inter-Sect Competitions.
And thus, the Lone Peak was filled with countless visitors.
◇◇◇
“This disciple greets The Elders, The Grand Elders, and The Sect Master.” Light greeted as he lowered his head. There was a person with a beard that came to lead the group, four people behind him, and another behind the four.
“Light, tell us what happened.” The leading person said with a smile.
“Yes. Sect Master.” Light answered with a bow. Light then continued.
“As I returned from the Heavenspring Peaks, I brought a person I had decided to take as a disciple.” Light said. The statement brought murmurs as countless disciples were shocked, some were merely surprised, some were envious and/or jealous, and some were curious about the disciple in question.
Light then continued. “And then, this morning, I instructed my disciple in the in the ways of cultivation and Heavenly Dao. However, as my disciple was also a genius, he asked a question. I pondered about the question, and had acquired enlightenment. Thus bringing the phenomenon.”

Countless mouths gaped at Light’s declaration. His disciple was a genius. And Light himself admitted, and his one statement brought enlightenment. However, if the student was the one who asked the question, and the teacher was the one enlightened, who was the greater genius then? A lot of disciples were dying to find out.
However, within the Sect Master’s mind, he was baffled about one thing. So he asked. “However. Light, our cultivation method does not bring the Rainbow Spirit Mist during enlightenment. How did it appear in this Lone Peaks?”
Light suddenly made an enlightened expression as if he just remembered something he forgot. He explained; “Oh! So that was what I was missing! It was actually like this; My disciple is without a doubt a genius. Thus, when he had observed my enlightenment, it would seem that he achieved enlightenment of his own. I am truly sorry for forgetting to mention the fact.” Light apologized with an earnest face.
*SPURT* *SPURT* *SPURT* *SPURT* *SPURT*!!
Blood sprayed in the air as countless disciples spat a mouthful of blood. They were cursing the heavens for being so unfair. A Light Winterwinds was enough, but to have two? Was the heavens mocking their entire life of efforts?!
As countless disciples despaired, the Sect Master was instead, elated. The Light Winterwinds Bragging Card was extremely effective during the Flexing Convention—ahem...Inter-Sect Competitions, but to have two? Ha! He could imagine the face slaps it would bring to those old foggeys that flexed for no end during the times Light had yet to join the sect.
The Sect Master’s mouth curled into a grin as he spoke. “I see. Good. Good. Then? Where is this disciple of yours?” he asked.
Light then pointed towards Ray, who was behind him the entire time. He brought Ray forward and introduced. “This disciple proudly introduces the Sect Master’s grand disciple. Ray is what he was named, Sect Master.” Light said as it implied to Ray that he was the Sect Master’s disciple.
It was open secret in the sect that when Light had tried to call the Sect Master as Master, the Sect Master declined the honour as he said. “Light, you are a Sword Cultivator. A Sword Cultivator whose talent far exceeds mine. I do not use a sword, and I am far inferior to you in the ways of the sword. I have nothing to teach you, and I have no rights to guide you in cultivation. I can only give you resources, so you shall call me as Sect Master like the rest.” Of course. The Sect Master knows it was his bullshit to raise his reputation. He didn’t have anything to teach such a monstrous genius anyway, so he might as well just take the chance to raise his reputation, right?
Anyway, the Sect Master looked at Ray as he measured his cultivation base.
‘Hmm...Half-Step Foundation Building...As for his age, I cannot tell.’ The Sect Master thought. Forgetting the fact that there was no such thing as 'ordinary' core disciples in the sect.
He first doubted if the boy who seemed only eighteen years of age was really a genius as it was only at the level of an average core disciple, but he chose to believe in Light as he offered; “Boy, accept me as your master. Should you accept, I shall give you same treatment as Light. Do you accept?”

*THUD* *THUD* *THUD* *THUD* *THUD* *THUD*....
Countless thuds were heard as countless disciples fainted in envy. That boy was too lucky. He was the disciple of Light, and would be given the same amount of priority in growth as Light. The few thousands of disciples who remained standing was wondering if this was the second coming of another Light. However...
“...Light, who’s this Eternal Sword Yi rip-off?...He sounds so pretentious...” Ray asked as he pointed to the Sect Master.
*THUD* *THUD* *THUD* *THUD* *THUD* *THUD*....
A few thousands of thuds resounded once more as even elders fainted at Ray’s blunt attitude. Only a few hundred warriors among disciples with minds of steel remained as they had already seen much bullshit in life. The Sect Master’s flexing tendencies was pretty well known in the entire sect. However, as mere disciples, how could they point out the behaviour? No. They wouldn’t dare even if they grow a thousand balls...okay, that example was clearly too much.
Anyway, the Sect Master froze at the accusation. ‘Eternal Sword Yi? Who was that? Rip-off? My clothes are fine are they not? Why describe them as ripped?’ He thought with his racing mind.
As for Light, he simply laughed as he found the situation humorous. He knew that Ray was a blunt person, but he did not know he was this blunt. So he was now holding his stomach as he suppressed his laughter.
After a while, Light quieted down an spoke. “...Ahem...I apologize for my disciple’s strange way of talking. I had found him in a fairly secluded place during my journey, as such he is not well versed in considering other people’s feelings. Ray, you apologize too.” He told Ray.
Ray looked at Light for a while, then turned his expressionless face to the Sect Master. “I’m sorry. I’ll try to understand from now on.” Says Ray as he apologized.
The Sect Master finally regained his thoughts as he saw Ray apologize. He made an understanding face as he said. “No, you do not have to push yourself. It was my miscalculations as I did not know about your character.”
Ray seemed like he wanted to retort something, but Light covered his mouth with his hand and spoke. “Ah. It would seem that Ray is tired for today. Can we please let my disciple rest? This disciple implores.” He pleaded.
The Sect Master took it as his cue to leave and spoke. “Alright. Then we shall take our leave. Well, then. We shall not trouble you further.” Says the Sect Master as he turned to leave. He flew out of the ground and traversed the winds as he soon vanished along with the rest of the elders. The still awake disciples soon left and when they were gone, Light activated the teleportation formation than ejected all the unconscious disciples away from the mountain.
Peace returned to Lone Peak as Light gave a heavy sigh.
◇◇◇
Light gathered all the maids who now had become cultivators as their dantian had activated. Although they would not be able to cultivate as fast as those with Spirit Roots, they now had a chance to live even longer. Of course, they knew that. As such, they were expecting they benevolent master give them a cultivation method, which Light was planning on doing.
As Light saw all the maids gathered, he sighed in relief as it seemed no was going to betray him, it seems. He then looked at the group and spoke.
“Since you all have gathered, I will now speak on point. All of you have gained enlightenment in the cultivation of the Heavenly Dao, yes?”
“““Yes, master Light.””” They replied in chorus.
“Then I shall give you all cultivation methods based on what affinities you have. However, I shall implore that the events from earlier, whoever witnessed it, to keep the matter hidden. Many may covet Ray’s talent, and he cannot defend himself yet. Understood?”
“““Yes. Master Light.””” Once again, replied in unison.
“Very well, you may now leave. I shall send you your respective cultivation methods as soon as you are done testing your affinities.” Light informed.
The maids left the room in an orderly manner, and when all of them were gone, Light sighed and muttered. “What a troublesome matter indeed. I wonder how many more lies shall I weave?”
◇◇◇
After giving his maids each their suited Cultivation Methods, Light took Ray into his room for a discussion. They both sat in front of a low table, as Light himself served the tea. After serving tea to Ray, he then gestured to taste it. Ray took a sip, and Light asked afterwards.
“So? How is it?”
“...I don’t know...But it has good aftertaste and smell...also...I can feel my cultivation increasing by a tiny bit...”
“Of course. The tea leaves I used to brew the tea is called Soothing Spirit Leaf. It grows only within places rich in Wood Elemental Essence and takes 10 years before the leaves mature. It is quite good for calming one’s Dao Heart and loosening one’s bottleneck.” Light proudly explained. However...
“...Can I pretend I understood?...” Ray did not understand most of the terms from his earlier words.
Light made a wry smile as he suggested. “T-That should be for the best.”
He then cleared his throat as he began the serious conversation.
“Well then, I shall be blunt, Ray. I want to take you as my disciple.”
And so, the real conversation began.

The book of forever
An experimental diary of sorts recounting my life and experiences, written as a slightly whimsical scifi story about setting off from the past to unknown lands, rebuilding from nothing and finding myself again. The first section of the book contains matched chapters, a chapter for a interlude, both happening at the same time roughly The second section of the book contains more one off stories as we follow one of the travelers explore their heart as well as a unknown land, growing in the process. All of the text here was written in 10 syllable chunks, this reads like a epic of sorts, just with more philosophical focus and POV jumps. Hope you enjoy! >Updates may be sporadic as I only write when I have something about myself I want to share The chapters can all be read individually, although there may be some crossovers between them they work as single poems. You start at whatever chapter you want since these are a collection of roughly connected poems (although you'll notice tie ins and references to eachother)
