《A Time for Leisure》Prologue

On the continent of Tairo, mortals tend to live a very content life, even if most of them are under the fingers of cultivators. The strength of cultivators, even the weakest of them can easily kill 10 mortals in a few swipes. The strongest do not even need to be near them for their lives to end abruptly.
Cultivators can be seen everywhere, maybe a young child walking around the streets, maybe an old man begging for money in exchange for a fortune, or maybe that nice older woman down the road. While some prefer to hide their cultivation, most love to flaunt their power in front of people that they deem to be unworthy to even be in their presence. Most of the time, it's young cultivators that think their strength can rule the world.
Cultivation is a long and arduous task for many to even begin, all the mindless killing for resources, accidentally offending a clan and having to hide and get stronger for even an attempt at revenge while the clan tries to hunt you down for some petty reason like not showing respect to their younger generation.
Then there's our protagonist, a monstrosity at cultivation, but that is his only talent, he is youngest person to ever achieve Godhood, but he's tired of all this mindless killing even on the higher realms, the only reason he ever went through all this bullshit, was just so that he could relax and not have to worry about not being able to protect himself from idiots attempting to murder him for some stupid reason, and now that he's at the top of the world, it still keeps fucking happening?
"Screw this shit, I'm still young, why would I want to kill random people I don't even have a grudge with all my life?!" (Caz)

Caz couldn't take it anymore, he was only 23 for crying out loud, did people really expect him to do this forever?! What if I want to find love, marry a couple thousand ladies and settle down?! WHERE'S MY CHOICE?!
He was "forced" to help the other Gods with random things, most had to do with taking care of rogue Gods that just happened to piss off someone that they should have avoided.
The only good thing about going to the higher realm, is that the Goddesses there were world dominating beauties, at least he could flirt somewhat with them, the age gap between them wasn't a very major thing, since the lifespans of cultivators is almost endless, even at the lower levels.
In the end, he didn't have much more to do anymore, there weren't any important things that had to be done, just lazing around was his routine for a few years. No one really ever tried to mess with him, for some reason, he was curious, but didn't really feel like asking.
Caz couldn't really take the boredom anymore, the Goddesses were busy with matters in their clans, the Gods as well, even some of his closer friends had no free time to even grab dinner together, so he had a lucrative idea, what if he just goes down to the lower realms? That sounds like fun, a whole new adventure to play around with.
Most people spend most of their beginning cultivation years within the lower realms, but Caz was an exception, as he was a monster when it came to cultivation, he was blindingly fast when it came to "leveling up", so he only spent a good 3-5 years down there before he ascended. It's pretty weird for a 15 year old boy to just suddenly ascend to the higher realms by himself.

"Hmm... I do still think about the people in the village from time to time, old granny Johanna made the best muffins, eh fuck it, might as well have a little vacation, I think I deserve it! Look at me, the most handsome Devil you'll ever see, who would dare say I don't deserve a little break?!" (Caz)
And so, just because he missed the muffins from his village elder, the young God decided to take a little break from this duties, let's see how much of a mess he'll make, shall we?

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5
