“You need to go!” crackled Eric Smythe through the radio.

“Ready when you are! Ruff!” replied Officer Howler.

He had taken his place in the cockpit, in front of a multitude of screens, panels, brightly flashing buttons, and most importantly from Rosemary’s point of view, a windscreen and steering wheel.

“All clear!” replied Eric.

“Starting sequence initialised. We’re moving!”

In front of her, Rosemary could see a little pathway between the thousands of spacecraft surrounding them.

“Don’t forget to indicate,” she helped.

Officer Howler laughed, and pulled the steering wheel towards him.

“No need,” he replied as the ship rose vertically.

As soon as the ship was high enough that it would comfortably clear anything in front of it, he pressed a large green button. The ship hurtled forwards, leaving Timeria behind in a blur of lights and colour.

“Urggghhh,” said Rosemary, shortly before she crumpled into the seat of her chair.
