“Weather forecasting?” whined Officer Howler. “Weather forecasting? How is that more important than going back to war and helping to stop the Crawkling invasion?”
“I'm not sure,” admitted Captain Scheider, “but FOG assure me that it is. I guess it's quite important though. I mean, if we are going to counter-invade Crawk at any point we need to know if there's going to be a snow storm. History has taught us that not respecting the weather is folly during war.”
Officer Howler shook his head in exasperation. “It's not that I don't want to go to Crawk, but I'd rather be fighting. This mission just doesn't seem very...” He looked around, searching for the right word. “Important.”
“I'm sorry Officer, but those are the orders. You never know, you might even enjoy it. Flying to Crawk at the moment will be some challenge.”
Officer Howler could see that his objections weren't going to make any difference, so he reluctantly agreed to go next door to speak with Eric Smythe, the leader of FOG.
