Layla didn't expect It was easy taking in a vampire. Well, it’s not like Azy put up a fight. The vampire leaned back against the chair while waiting outside the captain’s office. Felicia appeared from his right and handed him a box of wet wipes with a worried smile. Azy nodded his head as thanks before taking a few out and wiping the dried blood off his face.
“Are you going to be okay?” asked the short imp.
“I’ll be okay, Felicia. Thanks for asking. But, I’m a bit surprised, I thought you can't stand the sight of blood?” asked Azy.
Azy noticed the people in the office were staring at him, concerned and afraid. He let out a small laugh at the whole situation. It has been a while since the last time people saw him with fears.
“Uhm, you’re right. I can’t stand it, but I’m worried about you.” Felicia bare a half-frown while playing with her fingers.
“You really are too good for me, Felicia. Anyway, are we still up for that date this weekend?”
Felicia nodded excitedly. “I’ll set everything up in my apartment. Oh, I need to go now, my break is about to end.” Felicia waved at him before making her way to the reception desk.
Inside the office, Layla had just finished explaining everything to Mary. From the moment, she met Azy until she brought him here. Mary responded to the story with a not quite painful expression, more of an expression when someone had a massive headache.
“I don’t understand him. Sometimes he showed that he cared, but sometimes he just didn't. He helped the woman who was getting robbed, but he didn’t even care for the victims we found in the warehouse. Yet, all of that changed when he met that mermaid.”
“Mermaid?” asked Mary with a raised eyebrow.
“Yeah, a mermaid. And what’s with The Crimson Lord stuff? I thought it was just a title.”
“That title is more than that. The Crimson Lord used to be a legend. Some even worship him as a vengeful deity for a short while. They would often offer anything they own to him, even their lives, and if he accepts, then he shall take their wrath and execute it. It sounds unbelievable, but I did my research and found a trail of bodies he left behind. To me, he’s not a deity or a god, he’s a true walking calamity.”
“If tonight didn’t happen as it did, I wouldn’t believe you. Excuse me for asking, but why did you even employ him?”
“He’s our deterrent. Do you think those paranormals are afraid of our force? No. Those creatures out there that really know who he was are afraid of him. That’s why the paranormal cases around here are fewer than in any other cities.”
“But is it worth the risk? Can we even detain him if he goes out of control?”
“Probably not. That’s why I told you not to trust him, but I also don’t think he has any foul intention since he started working here. The majority of the time he followed the rules, but tonight...”
“I think it’s dumb to have him here. His kind never known for their good deeds.”
“You are dismissed, Ms. Layla.”
Layla left the office and walked past Azy with a deadly glare. Azy nodded his head at her with a grin. After Layla gave her a sneer, he went into the office. He closed the door behind him before taking a seat across from the captain.

“Mary, look, I’m sorry tonight went like that.”
“It’s Captain to you,” said Mary with a glare. “When I first start here, you promised me you’re going to put all your past behind and follow our goddamn rules.”
“I know, but--”
“It was the mermaid, wasn’t it? Is she the one who saved your life?”
“She wasn’t. It was her granddaughter.”
“Goddamn it, then what about our promise? I thought vampires lived by their words?”
“We do. I do. Damn it… It was out of my hands.” Azy held his tongue, then sighed heavily. “I’ll take any punishment for what happened.”
“I know it wasn’t just the mermaid. Something else pushed you, tell me what it was.”
“I’m sorry, but I can’t.”
“Damn it, Azy. You know I have to report this to the higher-ups. Give me your badge and don’t worry about your gun, Layla already gave it to me.” Mary rubbed the temple of her forehead.
Azy took out his badge and placed it on the table.
“Starting today, you are suspended until I receive the verdict from the higher-ups. Antonio also will be suspended.”
“Wait, what?”
“Antonio got you that information without my permission.”
“Damn it, Layla.” Azy stood up with his hands nearly tore the edge of the table. After realizing his anger, Azy took a moment to calm down and stared back at Mary. “Don’t do this, please. You can’t suspend him for my fault.”
Mary groaned. “Fine, but I’m cutting a week off his pay.”
“You’re dismissed, and tell Antonio that I want to see him.”
Azy left the office and headed to Antonio who is seating at his desk, writing a mountain of reports. In his left hand, he held a pen and in the other a mayo and egg sandwich. He stopped and looked at Azy with wide eyes.
“What the hell happened to you? Wait, never mind that. So, did you get your guys?”
“Sort of, but uhm… something bad happened, and the captain wants to see you.”
Antonio’s face immediately turned sour. “Damn you, Azy. I told you. Fuck.”
“It’s slid out of my mouth, you know.”
“If it got to do with my pay, I swear… fucking hell.”
“It does. I’m sorry.”
“You know my sister needs that money. Shit.” Antonio stood up and walked back and forth.
“It was my fault. I can give you the money.”
Antonio quickly turned to him with a glare. “Fuck you! I don’t need your fucking pity.” He threw the sandwich against Azy’s chest. The mayo and egg splattered across Azy’s bloody shirt and caught the attention of the surrounding people. “From now on, stay away from me.”
Azy watched as the man left his desk and headed toward the captain’s office. His shoulders slumped while he closed his eyes. He noticed that his coworkers were staring at him, some with an accusing look while others were concerned.
He raised both hands with a smile. “What can I say? I’m the bad boy of this precinct. Anyway, I got my mandatory vacation, so have fun, guys.” A wave of gossips and rumors is going to spread.
There was something else he needed to do before he left: to get something from the forensic lab. As he leaves, he noticed a stare from Valentina, it was out of empathy and sadness for him. It tugged a couple of strings inside his heart. It was truly a rare sight after what happened between them. In response, he returned a gentle smile to her and a nod.

After an hour of drive, he arrived at the public dock, a few private boats can be seen from where Azy parked. He got out of the car along with a shoebox, then locked the door before making his way toward the dock. It all seemed familiar to Azy, he could navigate the wooden path because this place is where his house at.
Stopping at a white and red fishing boat, Azy stepped onto it as he did a million times. This fishing boat has been thoroughly converted into a house, it couldn’t be used for fishing anymore, but it still could run and function like a normal boat. He entered his living room and stored the shoebox in a cooler to escape from the smell.
Afterward, Azy made his way to the back and front to release the boat, then with a single push, the boat slowly floated away from the dock. He climbed to the bridge and man the helm. The boat held a course toward the vast ocean.
Hours passed, there’s nothing around but the open sea. Azy was satisfied by how far he got, he still needs to go back before the sun started to rise, or he will be stuck here for the entire day.
He climbed down into his living room and grabbed the cooler, then brought it to the deck. He took out the shoebox, he dropped the shoebox into the ocean.
“I return thee, the daughter of daughters backs into the sea’s embrace. May you find peace in the next life.” Azy stared at the dark horizon, the moon and stars shone brightly here than in the city. It’s peaceful, even the noise pollution from the city is absent here.
He enjoyed the view and the fresh air. However, time wasn’t on his side tonight, he needed to bring the ship back to the dock before the sunrise.
After hours, he finally docked the ship just in time and even took a shower. He brought a chair and placed it facing the open door. Every window in the living area had already been painted black to prevent any sunlight from coming in.
He waited for the sun with a bottle of vodka. A vampire has a strong resistance to chemicals. The bottle of vodka in his hand is stronger than any normal alcohol. It can kill a human if taken in large amounts, but it has a mild effect on a vampire. The liquid slid into his mouth with ease.
And there it was, the deadly light creeping on the other side of his door. He stood up and took a large breath in. He wanted to step forward. To know why Mephistopheles left him. He thought she was happy with him, so why did she step into the sunlight without saying anything?
“Was my love not enough?”
Azy slowly extended his left hand into the light, his skin started to boil, and slowly his flesh began to melt. The excruciating pain was nothing like he ever felt in this world. It was hell itself. Azy gritted his teeth, then screamed his heart out. His legs gave out underneath him, and he dropped to one knee while the bottle of vodka rolled away.
The boat suddenly swayed like a boulder just dropped onto the deck. Someone was running toward the back. Azy was surprised to find a tall woman cast a shadow over him.
Valentina stared at him with a furrowed brow and a disappointed frown. “I knew you would pull this kind of crap after that fucking stupid face you made.”
Azy grimaced while grabbing his elbow. “What bring you here?” Azy forced a smile on his face.
“You, dummy.” She kneeled and slid her hands underneath him, before lifting him up in her arms. “The only vampire lord obsess with love.”
Azy never felt so relax and safe in her arms. At the same, he felt pathetic to be in this situation. The role should be reversed. “You can’t be with me. No one can.”
“I know. You don’t have to keep saying that.” She lay him on the bed.
“Then why are you here?” Azy looked with a longing stare.
“Because I’m a dummy too.” She leaned down, then placed a soft deep kiss on Azy lips. A lock of her midnight hair dangled down her face She pushed it back behind her ear while keeping her orange eyes on him. “No matter how much I wanted to hate you. I just can’t.”
“I didn’t realize I was that irresistible.” Azy sneaked in a joke.
“Shut up.” Her tail slid into Azy’s pants. It playfully slithered around his inner thighs.
“I want to forget, will you help me?”
She replied with her lips against his. Her arms already started undoing his shirt and pants. While Azy helped with hers with his only unusable hand at the moment, but it can only do so much until Valentina took over. She tossed aside her jacket and undone her purple shirt to reveal two large breasts held by a white bra. Azy always wondered how did a piece of fabric hold such massive loads.
“Amazing…” said Azy with a grinned after she revealed her succulent breasts.
Valentina slightly shook her head with a half-smile. “You love them that much?”
“I do.”
She pressed her breasts against his face while she undid the bottom part of her attire along with Azy’s. The soft yet firm bust was like heaven against his face. It immediately sent a signal to his cock to rise, and it did, at an incredible length and girth. With one hand, he fondled the breast while with his mouth, he playfully sucks and bites her other tits.
Valentina moaned at how rough Azy was, and she immediately pulled her breast away with a pout. “Did you forget how sensitive I was?”
“I didn’t. I just couldn’t help myself.”
“Gentle or else.” She narrowed her eyes at him.
“I promise.”
Valentina brought her tits against Azy’s face again while grinding on his shaft with her slit. Azy’s touch became gentler, right now, his focus was only on her. Every response, jitters, and moan was like a symphony, and he was the composer to it all. The dripping sensation on his shaft was proof of his mastery.
Valentina stared down at him with a short repeated breath. She started to yearn for him to be inside her. Azy flipped Valentina on her back and brought her legs up against his shoulders. It was his time to take the lead. He gently propped her slit with his tip.
The sensitive cambion moaned at the slightest touch, the sensation was different from when she was grinding on him. She could predict what she feels when she was in charge, but now, she wasn’t in charge, so the uncertainty drove her anticipation wild.
A single slow thrust forced the cambion to pull the sheet and bite it. Azy moved in a perfect rhythm of methodical movements, focus, and care. Until she was on the verge of the climax.
“Do it,” pleaded Valentina.
Azy understood what she wanted, he leaned down and brought his lips near her neck. He brought his fangs and slowly pierced her skin. As Azy sucked down her blood, his thrust getting faster till she exploded with pleasure.
He pulled out his fangs, then suddenly, his regeneration kicked in. His nerves began to bulge as his arm repaired itself. The sensation of pain and pleasure stacked on top of each other and brought to his climax. He let it all out inside her before collapsing on top of her.
They both gasped for air. Valentina closed her eyes while Azy stared at his regenerated hand. In their thoughts, they had a feeling that tonight won’t end here. After a short rest, they went at it again until both of them became exhausted and fell asleep in each other embrace.

The year is 2030. Earth is dying.
