《Subjugation of Gods》Something from Nothingness

Krishna woke up from stupor only to see his seven seniors meditating in a seven pointed star. He was lying in a corner on a comfortable bed of hay. Yawning, he got up from his bed, and Old Sixth said, "Krishna! Go take some cooked food, it's been only some hours since I made it, just heat it up on the fire and serve your seniors first then take a plate yourself."
Krishna nodded, these seven seniors were in a way his ancestors, by obeying them, he would increase his position in their hearts. The world is chaotic, and it's always wise to have someone strong to rely upon. Now, his field of action may be in the vast expanses of the universe. Entering the humble kitchen, he lifted the lid on the wok, and sniffed, a smell wafted over to his nostrils which jolted him from his residual sleepiness. The cooked food contained strong essence of life aura. So, the Old Sixth's specialisation was life, no wonder cooked only vegetable food and no meat.
There was no firewood underneath, but it took him no time to wonder as the surrounding air molecules began to move at high velocities as his mental force field expanded, and he generated fire from a flammable substance lying nearby.
This was no magic or cultivation skill, but a technique originating from understanding of basic thermal physics. Although Planet Mo Quan was far behind in terms of the evolution of civilisation, many star systems in the Outer Void were far ahead by thousands of years in evolution, their technology boosting as a result. The mortals inhabiting these star systems had become far advanced in the sciences, however they yet couldn't look with their tools beyond the Outer Void. For the mortals, Outer Void was considered to be their own Observable Universe, while cultivators didn't give any consideration to this convention.
News of historical happenings of the real OU, though frequently circulated in Outer Void, reaching as legends and myths in the ears of mortals. Containment of these legends and myths had a lot to do with sages and their secretive web spreading across even the Observable Universe, they wished for the mortals to surge on their path of raw reason, and didn't want Outer Void to become like another Observable Universe, governed by Gods and Immortals. Since, OU has adopted the path of the cultivation, let the people of Outer Void adopt their own path, let the diversity prevail within the universe as far we can see. That was one of the things, that the Sages professed through ages, and this is one of the reasons those Gods who knew about them, had no reason but to respect them. In the history of mortals, had they appeared to show them the path of oneness from time to time, however many highly evolved human-civilisations had believed their existence to be a hoax. This drew no hate or anger from the Sages, but they were indeed more content since humans must be independent ands not restricted in anyway. After all only from people who are self-dependent and able, will they be able to choose the next generation of Sages. In fact, Sages, always kept themselves updated with the advances of science and technology of mortals, although gadgets didn't draw much of their awe, but the theoretical research in each of the sciences was added carefully to their own knowledge, and such knowledge was preserved in the Virtual Training Realm. There were some of the Sages throughout various generations who were when they were mortals contributed to the development of science and continued with their pursuit even after turning to Sage. However, the seeking of a sage and mortal scientist is different. A Sage merges his enlightenments, experiences and scientific facts to study their own advanced version of science.

Heating the stove, he stirred the ladle with absolute involvement as if the dish before him, meant the world for him. This was one of the lessons he had learnt in the virtual realm after reflecting upon the weird attitude of Old Sixth. Living the life in involvement, makes one more in line with nature. This is may be more an act of an mortal, but this is one of the most natural ways to gain realisation. Each moment of his life was critical to him, and demanded full attention from him, since he exited his training while doing Seven Tests. He was surprised that he was so unconscious of so many facets and dimensions of life. With the passing of each moment, and his accumulation of thousand years, he had already formed his own path and goal to walk upon like the Seven Sages before him and the previous generations.
The dish was very less in quantity, just a small bowl, right now he was wondering how this small bowl worth of food in wok could feed the stomachs of seven grown people. But as he poured the khichdi(the dish's name) with the wooden ladle, he found that it filled seven medium-sized bowls easily and there was still the same amount left in the wok as beginning. He stared with his eyes wide open, trying to conceal his shock. "Is this the art of creating something from nothing? I studied it while training too, but couldn't understand how to use it. Wow!" A smile formed on his face and Old Sixth's face simultaneously.
"This kid is brilliant. He has looked through my devises flawlessly time and time again. Unfortunately, his future extends far beyond me and even Old Qi Ming, being my disciple, as I desire, would turn into an hindrance on his holy path of Dharma."
Quickly, he carried all the seven bowls with spoons on the tray to the sanctum where all seven were meditating. However, even though he tried, he couldn't enter the formation. This infuriated him, and boiled his blood, but he concealed his thoughts within, "I am here serving you all, and you are testing me? Aren't those of your seven dangerous tests not enough?" As his blood boiled, a soothing cool energy invaded him, calming his soul, mind and body. A fluid divine sense shot through his mind, "Anger is a great tool, however when it's uncontrolled it becomes a disaster for it's brewer. Training and studying in the virtual realm is one thing, but experiencing in the real world is another. This isn't your test, but your task as the Eighth Sage. The formation we are sitting in is a seven-pointed star which you may have encountered in your training as well. As you know, this formation is almost unbreakable by any single God King. The only solution lies in the centre of formation. If you can come in the centre of all of us, that would qualify you to be the Eighth once and for all. Now, do it quickly, Krishna, all of us are hungry." The Eldest Brother winked at him and relapsed into meditation.

Krishna heaved, but his nature's turbulence hadn't decreased, this sages were really old monsters and extremely cautious. First, he tried to restrict the waves of anger washing the shores of his spiritual sea. Then he remembered, that anger is a potent energy, so why not use it instead of wasting it or subsiding it. His anger was not only due to the current situation but was a building resentment of thousand of years. After all, he was 12 years old when he was pushed violently into a strange place, all alone. Thousands of years in the virtual realm were but a few hours in the real world, but his spiritual sea had in a way surpassed the limits of space and time. One of the Second generation sages had left an ingenious technique which he researched for hundreds of years for his disciple Ninth Sage of Third Generation(who had anger issues), that was known as "Myriad Mutations of Rage". As that Sage said, Rage was a form of energy, one can't control it, nor can one destroy it, as energy can't be created or destroyed. So, there are four ways, one is to subside it which is inefficient and useless, one is to expel it out which leads to imbalance of the mind of a sage, another is to refine it and another special way is to use it spontaneously like energy attacks of cultivators. That outburst of the pure anger attack of a Sage, can shake even the most powerful Gods from their Godly seats.
Immediately, Krishna's eyes bloodshot, has myriad seals formed before him, mudras flashed in lightning speed, and he pointed at the core of the Seven- Star formation with his divine sense. The eyes of the Seven Sages opened at such moment, as the glimmers of the seven star formation grew brighter at a stroke in the night time, lighting the skies like a colourful moon. The light seem to arouse some translucent crystal form and they seemed to spin alternatingly around the seven paragons.
"Senior brothers and sisters, are you all prepared?" Massive surges of crimson energy slashed it's way through the spheres from all the seven sides.

Debut: the day every young gentleperson of age gathers to receive their Spirit Blessing and shift for the first time into their second form. Except for those who don't. Beatrice's worst fear is to be one of the unlucky few trapped perpetually in a human body, cut off from the magic of the spirits and unfit for any respectable pack or pride. But when the time comes to face her fear, the outcome is one she never could have imagined. Be warned, this story is some highly experimental fluff—an unapologetically girly, unrelentingly bisexual, Regency/Victorian-ish fantasy mish-mash. It does have a dark side, though, so don’t come in expecting all sunshine and roses. Worthy of note, given the reputation of shifter stories: there will be no explicit sex in this tale. There will, however, be lots of polyamorous romance, necromancy, portal magic, capricious spirits, elemental mages, an unconventional take on shifters and a highly ordered society built around their existence.
