《Subjugation of Gods》Moment of Unforeseen Dispute

Of the two men who had been silent till now, there was one who was dressed in a dark black stashing robe, like a ranger. He had a small axe hanging by his waist, with ancient striations. Eldest of all of the current generation, he rarely spoke. There was no one who disrespected him, since he was who was the Chosen who was trained by the previous generation first among them, his knowledge, experience comprehension could only rival with the Old Seventh. Being of the Twelfth generation, responsibility fell upon their able shoulders to revitalise the waning bloodlines within the Outer Void. So, some of them married too and decided not to take the vow of Brahmacharya. The Eldest brother married the Third Senior Sister, both were childhood sweethearts, as for their actual ages, it could be around tens of thousands of years. Only, Second senior sister, Old Sixth and the quiet Old Fifth were among the ones who had taken the vow of absolute Brahmacharya, walking on the path of a True Sage like the Founder.
Hearing and sensing his own bloodline, awakened him as he was busy trying to grapple with a great Dao that he witnessed in the Western Wastes in Observable Universe during his travels. Before he could react, his wife got serious, "The boy's bloodline is too weak, he is surely not our lineal descent, but has mixture of some other prominent bloodlines."'
Eldest brother frowned a while before breaking out in enjoyment, "Nonetheless, being his ancestors, we have to look out for him. Who would have imagined that there would be two sages of the same bloodline in the same generation? But how could you sense such blood affinities even more closely than me, Old Seventh."
"Big Brother, like you, we have all had terrible and learning experiences in the OU. When travelling once in the Western Wastes, I was taken as a disciple by a Blood Ancestor, having served him for about 800 years, he finally taught me the authentic techniques of the infamous Blood Sect, the same Blood Sect that originated from Asura God. The founder was not the creator of all techniques, his Blood Refining Condensation are actually quiet close to the Blood Transforming Resonance, hallmark of the Asura Gods . In fact, I have taken the Blood condensation to a step higher than the ultimate mentioned in the manual by taking inspiration from some of the methods of Resonance"

Old Fifth reclined back yawning. On first look, one might mistake him to be a lazy person who preferred stillness, but in actuality he was the most sinister of all in the group. In his early life, he was the son of maid, who eventually rose to fame by his skills in chess and Go. For long had he served as a tactician, working from behind various factions. In fact, in the Dragon Bone Star System, his schemes toppled many dictatorial regimes making him a star in the Northern reaches of the Outer Void. He already knew the current discussion would evolve into a heated argument, and the subject of all that would be the kid who is busy refining his blood right now by a strange method. Finding a loophole, he jumped into the argument to steer it into the crux of the matter,
"And for that you required a test subject, isn't it? Qi Ming, aren't you being a bit too harsh on that kid? Once, he refines his bloodline, he will find a dual bloodline within him from Eldest brother and Senior sister, both having almost equivalent God level blood, using the essence of will, you will form a third bloodline conglomeration. This is unprecedented indeed. Only the Third Generation seniors ever were able to produce such god level bloodlines. "
Old Seventh smiled nastily, he was thinking as to why this guy can figure out almost everything.
"Ah! Yeah, of course. But I wouldn't be so cruel on my own junior. He has already started with the process. As always, Fifth brother, your deduction skills haven't weakened in all these years. However, my own essence surrounds him, so even if he dies in the attempt, he will be reincarnated without any trouble of losing memories. But if he succeeds, not only his bloodline will reach a level equivalent to God King, his closest blood relatives have a chance of developing immortal roots without problem."
The fourth brother was sitting and enjoying the discussion as if this was a family entertainment ongoing stream. With an apple candy in his mouth, it seemed that life was all about enjoyment for him. Old Sixth was busy peeling peas, hearing everything going on like a kid. "According to me, even if his bloodline develops to that stage, his family members still can't reach the immortal level unless the Ban on Immortal Ascension is destroyed. For that even if he is out of the Outer Void, he would have to bring his closest blood relatives out from there as well. It's all a fool's dream. Since, his family members won't be able to break through to become Ascendants, the whole process would backfire on him instead."

The young lady who was dressed in saffron clothes interrupted all of a sudden, "Bloodline evolution is not the path of a Sage but of a cultivator so that they can amass more energy and then influence nature with energy gradients couples with divine sense. Old Seventh, are you going against the rules ancestor laid out for us? Our path is not of cultivation of energy but of comprehension, or what would be the difference between us and cultivators?"
Old Seventh tightened his fists, "Without development and change, the line of sages wouldn't survive, combining the methods of sages and cultivators is the future that is before us. Both are radical approaches to overturn the heavens, and two sides of the same coin. What you all want is to wait for the Eighth junior and then the Ninth to begin the Line of Sages anew like founder Shiva. This method is obsolete. Why should the Outer Void and Observable Universe be two separate entities, why can't we have both of them together?" In a heat of the moment, he banged his fists that the whole table burst apart scattering up the peeled peas. Old Sixth finally stood up in impatience, "Qi Ming, what the hell is this nonsense? Do you even know how hard it is to get these peas, I had to travel for days to the cities to get them, this is an exotic stuff mind you, in this planet. I had to work sweeping Imperial city palace's floors for months until I could afford 11 pounds of peas."
Out of the blue, a powerful wave of cool watery energy drifted, washing over and soothing everyone, there was a serene blue glow within the air in front of the Eldest Brother. "Would you all quiet down for a moment, does every meeting have to break into a violent argument? The kid has already refined his bloodline to the divine stage. But, the ban has awoken, and is acting against all his family members, now help me you all, so that we can reduce their development, so the Ban's effect recedes. "
Seismic waves of stupendous explosions emitted with a warm current of air, as a spatial rift opened up, and a man dropped unconscious with blood seeped clothes on the on the hut's door to everyone's gaze. Slithers of stygian aura permeated his body, and the skies above had turned blood red with terrifying aura of silvery-golden. A humongous pressure started enveloping all of the Sages and mortals on Mo Quan Planet. Stifling cries sounded from the Eastern Palace of Furong country, as the aura of death gathered about the royal family.
At the boundary of OU, sat a young woman in a vajra pose, wearing golden robes reflecting sunlight in a temple, "How come the Ban of Outer Void activated suddenly?"

8 112Wolf's Oath Book 1: Oath Sworn
In Aralt ‘Wolf” syr Tremayne’s world, skyships sail above tidal extremes, crystal swords are Tuned, and the soul-touched inspire both awe and fear. The latter doesn’t phase him, he carries a Tuned blade, and as for the ships…Aralt prefers to keep his feet on solid ground. Having finally laid to rest the ghosts of his past, he is unprepared when the grave gives one of them back. To his shame, it isn’t the one he wants. Lian Kynsei’s arrival upends Aralt’s life, but there is nothing he can do about it. Oath-bound to Lian, the last of a priestly clan, he is now defender of the scion of a faith he no longer shares. But the boy Aralt once knew is gone. In his place is a reckless, traumatized teen who can light the sky on fire. The more they get reacquainted, the less Aralt likes him—and the feeling is mutual. As revenge against a common enemy boils in his blood, Aralt struggles to do his oath-sworn duty and secure sanctuary for the heir-apparent to a mystical dynasty. But instead of safety, every step brings them closer to danger: sky pirates, cannibals, and a relentless soulless scourge unleashed by their enemy are all intent on killing Lian—or worse. Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
