Fixing the divine core of the divine realm, and earning the respect of all of them Shiva went far west, into the Central Plains crossing numerous clusters. As legends say, and the secrets of the Founding Line of the Sages go, beside the fabled Lake of Eternal Wisdom in Tianqing planet of one of the Star Systems there, did Shiva expound the secrets of creation, sustenance and destruction, and with his aura, he attracted many people to follow him. Countless cultivators and mortals alike came to learn from his knowledge, however only Seven people passed his test. The line of Sages didn't desire quantity but required quality or the line would have long ended. Shiva was the founder of the Current League since he was the last of his generation of previous League of Sages. Only the ancients can foresee, for how many aeons had the Sages existed.

Four men and three women became his disciples, all of whom were mortal except one who was a Demon Sovereign of the Eleven Sovereigns of the Central Plains, and became the First Sage of that generation. And so the first generation of Sages were Seven in number, after Shiva who re-founded the League of Sages. The second generation were seven in number, and inherited the mantle from the previous gen. The third generation were one of the most powerful generations, and one of the many Golden Generations, since it consisted of Nine Sages in all.

Since, then the universe has completed 3 cycles of creation and destruction.

An old ascetic, naked with just a piece of loincloth covering him, sat in a hermitage drinking a cup of tea and took a deep breath. He had a unique glow about him, such that was beyond divine. His body was weak, yet his brows carried a power that even the Sun was afraid to touch. He looked casually at the little boy who was sitting in the lotus position before him. "So, kid this is the basic history of the Line of Sages. You passed the First Test so, you deserved to know about what you are going for. Your first test that took place in the mirror world was the Test of Comprehension. Since, you could look beyond the grossest illusion that surrounds all mortals, so you passed. As you have already begun attempting the tests, you can't leave before you complete the remaining seven. Seven more tests you have to pass, and if you are successful, you will sit along with me and drink this wonderful tea."

The little boy was a prince who had just arrived not too long ago, a 12 year old teenager, who was sent by his father to undergo a 12 yr Brahmacharya and learn the art of war, strategy, chess, music, statesmanship, politics, medicine etc.. How would his father have expected that the naughty kid would run somewhere other than to his teacher's quarters to a an ascetic. And that ascetic lead him here after knowing his potential. The boy was busy patting his legs in nervousness, the old man didn't even look at that, as it was just a normal day-day activity for him. The boy finally opened his mouth, smiling innocently, "Old Grandpa! But you didn't complete the story. How many generations are there of the Sages? And which generation is the one is existence currently?"

"Well, since you asked, I have nothing to hide from you, even if you don't become a Sage, still you can become a mortal sage like the one who brought you here, that nerdy guy Sandipani who took a liking to you and brought you to me, didn't even pass the first test, yet I still consider him a potential Sage, and you? " Shaking his head, he continued lazily without batting an eye at the boy, "There have been eleven generations after Shiva and the current one is the twelfth, and most likely the last if we don't have the Eight junior." He sighed, and grabbed a cloth pouch of raw peanuts, unstringing it, he took a fistful of peanuts and started blanching them in so much involvement as it meant the world to him.

The boy had made his resolve, "Alright, I am ready to take the succeeding tests. But what if I fail?" The old man stopped and peered into the eyes of the child as if he saw through him completely. After minutes of gaping, the ascetic turned back to crush up the blanched peanut seeds, and began pounding them in a pestle and mortar. "If you fail, it will be seen later. What is this bunch of nonsense? Your task is to attempt the tests at your best, not to worry about the result. Is your attention on your work or not? Without lack of attention you can't even shoot an arrow, little prince." These words, may seem offhanded and taunting to many, but it opened up the eyes of the boy and cleared up all his fear. He thought, "Why should I worry about what isn't in my hand? What comes after we will see. What is in my hand is the present, my duty and that I have to do with full involvement like the old man."

Nodding his head like an obedient boy, he bowed to the seer. The old man laughed heartily, "What's your name, kid?"

"I am known as Krishna."

A gentle spring breeze emerged from nowhere, and lifting the boy, the space broke apart and boy disappeared altogether from the hermitage. Meanwhile, rhythmic voice of crushing food came from the pestle and mortar, like the tip-tap of rain water, The motion was such that it could sooth all the tension raging in the mind of the depressed mind. From the mortar came a refreshing scent of pounded chilies, peanuts and curry leaves. Readying the fire, the old guy placed a wok and poured cumin and mustard seeds in the burning oil, after which he put the pounded ingredients in the wok, and lastly water -soaked Sabudana (tapioca pearls), stirring and cooking it calmly with full concentration, he wiped out his sweat until the khichdi was ready. "Ah! The dinner is ready. When the little kid comes, he will be hungry, this lovely dish would fill his stomach. Even if he passes these tests or not, senior brothers and sisters, I have already took a liking to him. I hope he will become our Eighth Junior brother. This generation's hope rests on the Eighth and the one unborn yet, both of which are yet to come. Otherwise, the Line of Sages would become a memory only, I wonder when the Ninth will come, that person will have to pass not only nine difficult tests but also the test of the Third Generation's senior sister. That's a matter of future. " Putting aside tense thoughts, he opened up the lid of the wok and smelled the khichdi, it brought him memories of his childhood when mother cooked his meal after he came back from his scripture lessons.
