《Pursuit of Life》Prologue

In the new beginning, an hourglass started. Its sand consisted of myriads of colors, like crystals. The hourglass stood opposite a throne inside a wide circular room with many entrances.

A child sat on the red and gold throne adorned with mysterious symbols that interwove into the child’s robes. He stared onto a full hourglass, never missing a single sand trickling down.

A silver-haired man stood behind him to his left wearing a resplendent armor and wielding a lightning bolt, ready to attack in a moment’s notice. Lightning bolts crackled around him causing the atmosphere around him to be blurry and full of vibrations and his waist-long silver hair to constantly rise and fall.

A bald man stood behind the child to the right wearing simple robes and wielding a staff that looked to have been fashioned from a long branch. The rings pierced onto the staff continued to move intermittently, due to the silver-haired man’s aura. However, right when the rings were about to clink, they stop in place.

Several men, women, and creatures moved around them. All of them bow to the child every time they passed him. They looked at the hourglass, and after one sand falls, some left the room with a scoff.

They went to a host of other rooms, with each room filled with various star charts and projections of the night sky. Some worked with one another, pointing out certain futures and destinies. Others argued because of conflicting divinations.

At the entrance of the castle, a blond-haired man, adorned with crimson armor and a helmet shaped like a dragon, stood guard. He looked out into a vast expanse of stars and galaxies, as the castle floats slowly through space. With every breath, the winds howled. With every blink, day turned into night. With every yawn, the castle crumbled. Sometimes, this blond-haired man looks upon the starry sky, baring his fangs, as he plucks a star to eat.

Elsewhere, a man with a determined gaze set out of a small city to see the world. Destined to die in a few years, he yearned to experience the whole world before his demise. However, as he learned more and more about the workings of the universe and became stronger and stronger, he was able to defer his destiny for the time being. Making several friends and followers along the way, he continued his journey to the greater world to go against his fate.

To go against his destiny, he created abilities and techniques that were never before seen in his world.

Everywhere he went, fantastical scenes erupted. He once divided the ocean to cross it. He made jungles appear in deserts. He made the night sky bright. These scenes gained him many followers and disciples, but also endless enemies, such as kingdoms and empires because his powers challenge the status quo of the world.

Through many accomplishments and setbacks, the man only grew to be more and more powerful. In the end, he flattened these kingdoms and empires with a wave of his hand.

Ruling over the world, signs from the above proved that he was still plagued by his destiny. Setting his sights upon the stars, he brought his followers and descendants and made way for the stars, ultimately changing the positions, and hence, his fate. His trailblazing path to his current position, brought to him the title of The First.

The colorful sand trickled down, slowly but surely. A man sat on the throne and looked upon a three-quarters filled hourglass. With blank eyes, the man quietly watched the sand fall. The silver-haired and bald men stood behind him. The others that were going in and out of the room looked upon the hourglass in an impatient manner, some forgetting to even bow to the man upon the throne.

The blond-haired man stood guard still had a smile on his face, but he noticed that when he looked upon the stars this time, they were constantly rearranging.

A spatial crack opened in front of him as an army appeared in front of him. Readying his troops for battle, the leader of the other army kneeled in front of them and beseeched, “I, Demiurge, am begging! Please let me speak to your king.”

The blond-haired man spoke, “Leave at once! If you know who my king is, then you know we can’t influence the ongoings of the external world.”

The two stared at another, ready to fight, and as each other brandished their swords, the man sitting on the throne called out, “Let him come in. I have been expecting him. Everyone else leave this room.”

The king, with the two men behind him, continued to watch the hourglass. Demiurge hastily spoke, “The evolution of the path is too strong, and the people of this era are too weak. I ask that you let me stay here until the reverse is true.”

Not sparing a glance to Demiurge, the king spoke, “You will probably be the only external creature to step foot into my palace. I shall grant you this favor, but only you. Also, because you are an external creature, your existence will have to be frozen in time. If not… well, just look at your followers.”

Demiurge looked outside and saw his followers experiencing rapid age growth, some of their armors rusting and decaying. He commanded to his followers, and immediately, bright lights emerged from their bodies. With the emergence of these bright lights, the bodies started to decay, as well. In the span of a couple of seconds, no signs of an army remained.

Demiurge inhaled all of the bright lights and looked to the hourglass then back at the king. The bald man struck his staff on the ground. Suddenly, stillness. However, the sands continued to fall.

Elsewhere, a woman laid under a tree and closed her eyes for what she believed to be her last time. Surrounding her were several decapitated children and guards.

Unexpectedly, she opened her eyes once again. Her body barely holding on was found by a caravan and was nursed back to health, though crippled. She had a house build next to the tree, where she lived the remainder of her life.

At a ripe age, she limped, using her cane, to the tree, lost in thought. The shadow of the tree transformed into a shape of a smiling face. Now showing a mournful face, the shadow spoke to her, “A mother who has lost her children is truly a pitiful sight.”

With a scream, the woman lost balance and fell over, unable to get up because of her crippled body. Shivering, the woman’s now face to face with the shadow. The face spoke with an understanding tone, “Don’t be afraid child. I have come to help you.”

Now putting on a furious face and with an angry tone, the voice continued, “Don’t you seek vengeance for you children!? Don’t you want those traitors to die!? Don’t you want to see your children once again?!”

“O-o-o-of course I-I-I-I want to. But l-l-look at me, I’m an old crippled woman,” she spoke with self-loathing in her voice.

The shadow then turned back to a smiling face, “Don’t worry about that, for I am a god!”

Forsaking her quiet life, she followed the shadow and grasped the power to get revenge on those who killed her children. But because of the traitors’ backing, she had to become stronger and stronger. However, with all her strength, she was still not able to bring her children back.

Back under the tree, she spoke to the shadow again, “I know of your plans, Master, or should I say, Death.”

The shadow showed a jovial face and laughed, “So you figured it out! Hahaha!”

“I’m still too weak to revive them.”

“That’s why you need to continue to follow me, for only my power is enough to save them.”

“Exactly,” flashing a dagger, she stabbed at the shadow.

“Aaaaaaahhhhh!!! A Mortal’s Dream?! How dare you betray your own master?! You’re no better than those traitors who killed your family!” The shadow started to seep into the dagger and into the woman’s body.

Unflinching, she spoke, “I’ll become whatever is necessary to see them again.”

“Foolish disciple! Without me, how can you go to the afterlife!? Without me, there will be no more afterlife!” The shadow shook its head, until it was fully absorbed by the woman.

“I know.” Looking upon the starry sky that was now covered with darkness, she knelt down under the tree and waited.

The sand trickled down, slowly but surely. An old man sat on the throne and looked onto a half-filled hourglass. With dark eyes, the old man quietly watched the sand fall. A silver-haired man and a bald man quietly stood behind him. Several creatures went in and out of the room at a hurried pace, looking at the hourglass with fear.

The blond man became even more and more restless. His heartbeat could be heard throughout the castle, sometimes causing cracks to form. However, those cracks were immediately repaired. The guards looked on with apprehension, as some of the creatures began to leave the castle a bit at a time. The blond man gripped his sword, as he defiantly stared at the starry sky, which had grown dimmer.

Elsewhere, a beautiful woman, adorned with sparkling gemstones, looked around her. Several guards surrounded her with weapons drawn. A man, covered in even more wondrous jewels, behind them spoke to her, “Dearest sister, you should not have schemed against me for the throne.” She screamed at the man behind them, who ignored her and left. Having been mutilated and defiled, she was thrown into prison where she could not see the light of day.

The prison doors opened, and she was freed. Lifeless and silent, she was brought into the same room where she was betrayed. Then, an unknown man, wearing a crown, looked at her and spoke to his attendants, “So she was the crown princess.” The attendants nodded.

Smiling, the man spoke and looked at her horribly scarred body, “Fix her up, I must marry her!” He touched her cheeks, causing her to shudder. “What have they done to you?” The man shook his head, then left.

The several attendants then began to work wonders as they repaired her body. From their gossiping, she found out that there was a coup and that the previous king, her brother, was overthrown. That man she had just met was the new ruler. Without a choice, she became one of his concubines and gave birth to a boy. Though hesitant at first, she finally found happiness again. She even began learning on how to perform wonders.

However, this happiness ended as soon as it came. A few years later, a severe plague ravaged the lands as her husband and child died from it. With no ruler and more than two-thirds of the population sick or dead, the kingdom fell. Blaming the gods for being too cruel, she left the city, for everything that she has loved had died.

The brief moments of happiness she experienced after leaving the city have all met tragedy. All the friends she had made, died. All the master she had made, betrayed her. Finally facing a god, she was still too weak and was sent to suffer eternal damnation.

In the end, the god was killed by others and she was freed. However, because of her experience in damnation, she was used as bait to hunt other gods down. She silently grew stronger, until she killed her saviors.

This life full of tragedy eventually ended as the woman had killed all the gods, bathing the stars with blood. However, nothing can warm her cold heart. She made it her final goal to annihilate all life and get revenge on the existence for making her live such a life.

Realizing that the gods were not the true rulers of fate, she journeyed higher and higher, until she reached the point where she needed to wait. Therefore, she sat down on the ground, surrounded by uncountably many powerful slaves, waiting for her bidding.

The sand tickled down, slowly but surely. A child sat on the throne and looked upon a half empty hourglass. With sober eyes, he quietly watched the sand fall. A sliver-haired man and a bald man quietly stood behind him.

Fewer people came in and out of the room quickly looking at the hourglass, as less than a third of the people remained in the palace. The blond man screamed, causing the palace to be completely destroyed except for the hourglass room. However, the castle repaired itself to its previous condition. The blond man looked at the child, then bowed.

Unsheathing his sword, he roused the guards, then looked at the red starry sky. With a command, he flew up, transforming into a dragon. All of the guards followed him, most transforming into fantastic creatures.

Elsewhere, there was only chaos, and somehow in this chaos, a baby formed. Without a parent, the baby was nourished by the chaos surrounding him. As hungry as a baby was, he started to devour the chaos, slowly growing into a child, then a teenager, then a young man. He consumed all the chaos around him, until it is only him and nothing.

Lying down on nothing, he eventually stood up and spat out some of the chaotic energy. With his hands, he tried to manipulate the energy and create things with it, but in doing so, he coughed up large amounts of blood, and chaotic energy started to leak from his orifices.

He simply lied down and closed his eyes after that. In just a couple minutes, he knitted his eyebrows. He got up and looked around him. Pointing in one direction, he walked forward, and during this walk, his face progressively turned into a frown because he realized that no matter how far he walked, everything was the same. Nothingness.

He started stamping, until the space under him broke. He fell down then looked around again. Angry, he yelled at the top of his lungs, for the surroundings was the same yet again. With nothing else to do, he restarted walking forward, grumbling to himself from time to time.

The sand tickled down, slowly but surely. A man sat on the throne and looked upon a quarter-filled hourglass. With brooding eyes, he quietly watched the sand fall. A silver-haired man and a bald man quietly stood behind him.

The rest of the palace was in shambles, as it has been abandoned a long time ago, by everyone except for four beings.

Elsewhere, inside a restaurant the size of a city. Several creatures in their true forms dined. Some of these creatures included giants, ogres, phoenixes, and elves. Right in the middle of the restaurant sat a dragon, a turtle, and a rat, on a table the size of the dragon.

With its mouth full, the rat, running from one empty plate to the next, squeaked out, “Brother Turtle! I knew that you weren’t as slow as the others make you out to be. Everyone, look over here. Feast your eyes on the World’s Fastest Turtle!”

One of the bulls on another table laughed and yelled out, “My brothers, that rat is telling the truth! Turtles should never be looked down upon, especially when they’re eating!”

The whole restaurant roared with laughter. The turtle who was snapping the food away with his mouth, became embarrassed, then retracted his head in his shell, saying quietly, “Big Sister Dragon, Little Brother Rat truly is a big bully.”

From the other side of the restaurant, a tortoise, who was drinking a cup of tea, threw it at the bull who had spoken. The bull, whose head was now wet, roared, “You old bastard! Want to fight me!” In response, the tortoise calmly, retracted his whole body in its shell.

The restaurant resounded with laughter once again as the bull ran to the tortoise, but was stopped by the dragon’s tail. “Please stop or else I’ll have to enjoy a plate of bull meat, since I’m still hungry because of Little Brother Turtle eating everything.”

“Who dar-“, the bull’s words got caught in his throat as he saw the dragon. With slumped shoulders, he returned to his table, while the rest of the bulls laughed and jeered at him. The tortoise, no longer hiding in its shell, thanked the dragon and ordered another cup of tea.

The other patrons of the restaurant, accustomed to such sights, simply smiled and ate.

The dragon quietly spoke to the turtle and the rat, “Listen in the upcoming war, you two must be careful.”

Seeming to have forgotten about what happened earlier, the turtle no longer hid and started to eat at a rapid pace once again, spoke with his mouth full, “Why should I be worried about some foolish humans, if I have my elder sister there to carry me?”

Having found a piece of root vegetable to gnaw on, the rat also spoke with his mouth full, “You’re too wise for your own good sometimes, Brother Turtle. But he’s correct big sis. With your strength, you can also carry me, too.”

The dragon blushed, then said with an even softer voice, “But I’m too eye-catching. You know how valuable body parts from a dragon are to those humans.”

The turtle, having swallowed another mouthful, belched then said, “Don’t worry, even if you’re incredibly large, we have Little Brother Rat’s speed and my wisdom. That’s how the three of us worked, ever since we met.”

“With us three working together, we’re unstoppable!” The rat yelled out, lying down on the table, showing off a full belly.

“But don’t skip out on training these next couple of weeks. I don’t want to be embarrassed in battle by my two little brothers, when I become captain.” The dragon harrumphed as she drank her tea.

“Waiter!” The turtle yelled out. “Put the check on the tortoise’s table over there! He’s willing to pay, I promise.” Hearing this, the tortoise spat out his tea, while the restaurant roared with laughter once again.

A skeleton picking his teeth next to them jumped on a table, “Good luck to you, three! However, the title of captain will be mine. Miss Dragon, since I view you as a worthy rival, accept this toast from me!”

“Someone with a foot barely out of the grave dares to take the title of the captain from me! Take this toast from me, while I shove this in your mouth!” A four-eyed red furry creature spoke up and started walking to the skeleton.

“Brothers-in-arms!” The turtle spoke up and spoke in a slow cadence, “We have suffered through training together and we will suffer in battle together! Let’s all toast together!” Most of the other patrons agreed with his sentiment and raised their glasses ready to toast.

However, the turtle continued with an even slower cadence, “We are the representatives of each species sent to battle against those terrible humans. Our ancestors have suffered so much because of them. But they were strong, and hold on my mouth’s dry.” The turtle stopped speaking and slowly sipped at his tea, while everyone in the restaurant stared at him, some gritting their teeth, with their drinks raised.

Finishing the sip the turtle continued, “Now where was I. Yes. Look how old I look because of these damn humans. I’ll have you know I’m only 13 years old! These humans-“

“You’re a fucking turtle! Of course you look old!” Someone threw the drink he had raised at the turtle.

“Who dares? Your grandfather was in the middle of his-“ The turtle yelled out, but another drink was thrown at him. Soon more glasses and plates flew and a brawl encompassed the whole restaurant, while the dragon watched and sighed, looking out for the turtle and rat, who were fighting against the other creatures.

With the power of the trio, they garnered large accomplishments in the ensuing battle, and in several years were able to lead a union that led all the beasts and creatures against the domineering humans.

Going against their fate to be subservient to humans, creatures started to rule the world, with humans now treated as slaves, much to the chagrin of the trio.

In a couple of years, a god saw what was going on, and unleashed a god’s wrath upon the creatures for going against his will. With their combined strengths, the trio were able to surpass a god, and eventually paved the way for other creatures to reach greater heights than ever before.

Now having reached the peak, the trio looked upon the starry sky wanting to free their other brethren from the constraints that were once placed on them, but to do so, they needed to wait.

The sand continued to trickle down.

Now an old man, close to death, sat on the throne and looked upon the hourglass. With weak eyes, he quietly watched the sand fall.

The silver-haired man sighed, then walked away as he shot his lightning bolt upwards, destroying the ceiling and revealing a starry sky divided into parts. Some parts were blood red. Others were too dim to see. Others shined like fire. He looked back and bowed to the old man, then departed through the hole in the ceiling. Having left the ceiling reappeared.

Only three beings remained in this desolate palace.

Elsewhere, a bald woman, wearing orange robes, sat on top of a mountain that was as tall as a star. Around her, from the peak to the base of the mountain were countless amounts of creatures, all seated in lotus position.

With a flip of her hand, the sky above them cracked and many more mountains, just as big as the one they were on, formed. Closing her hand, the mountains crumbled to pieces until there was nothing left, except for chaotic energy swirling in the sky. This chaotic energy gradually formed another set of mountains.

She opened her eyes revealing heterochromic eyes, one green and one red. “Creation begets Destruction, which begets Rebirth. Such a cycle, requires a delicate balance. When one side becomes stronger than the other, imbalance will cause problems. The same way as-,” screams from some of the creatures caused her to pause. They pointed up to the sky and saw a large tear. The mountain shuddered as cracks began to form.

From the tear, came millions of creatures, and they unleashed sky rendering attacks as fire and lightning rained down upon the mountain. Several of the creatures on the mountain flew up to meet these attacks as colorful explosions filled the sky.

The bald woman simply spoke, “Why do you attack us, Destroyer? It is not time, yet.” She looked up at the tear, staring at a beautiful woman who looked down upon this world.

Destroyer responded, “I like to see the look of despair and dread on their faces.” Smiling, she caused the mountains around them to crash down upon the mountain, the bald woman was on. Creatures, from both sides, were crushed instantly as a smell of blood wafted through the air.

“After destruction. A rebirth.” The bald woman’s green eye glowed and the creatures who had just died, began to take their previous form. “Imbalance can only lead to severe consequences.” Her red eye glowed, causing the Destroyer’s arms to explode and leaking more chaotic energy into the sky.

“Such tricks have no effect on me. You may be safe now, but once the day the final battle arrives, I will personally rip you apart.” The arms regrew, and the tear started to close.

The creatures from the tear were left behind as they continued their battle with the creatures on the mountain, regardless of their lives. “Be patient. For all these senseless battles shall end soon,” the bald woman sighed and told her followers, as her eyes glowed and she flew up to the sky.

The sand continued to trickle down. Now a child, yet again looks onto a fifth-filled hourglass. With juvenile vigor, he closely watched it.

The bald man shook his head, sighed, then bowed to the child. He tapped the floor with his staff, and a large chasm opened beneath it. He looked at the child, about to speak, but the child waved his hand. The bald man jumped in, and the chasm disappeared.

Elsewhere, a youth sought to find the truths of the universe. He would do anything to reach his goals.

Elsewhere, an old man stood inside a dimly lit temple. Various symbols engraved the walls and blood flowed through the floor, as several beheaded bodies littered it. The old man looked at a stele placed on top of the altar at the center of the temple.

Words began to etch itself onto the stele, with each letter glowing a different color. Reading these words, the old man began to weep, and he snapped the stele in half with a breath. “Fate truly has a different role for me.”

He sat on the floor and looked at the broken stele, “My brothers. My friends. My disciples. My beloved. Can any of you ever forgive me?”

He laughed at himself, “What am I thinking? Of course they won’t.” He looked at the heads, showing signs of anger and helplessness, on the floor.

“Since I have caused all of this. Then I should have the power to undo it.” With renewed resolve he walked out of the temple and faced an angelic host, armed with spears and swords, staring at him. The one flying the highest, wearing a golden armor and cape, undid a scroll and began to read from it, “For sacrilege, blasphemy, murder, conspiracy—“ “Just attack already!” The old man responded, his body slowly transforming to that of a red-haired youth.

The leader made a scowl and commanded, “Soldiers, hand this devil’s head to me!”

The devilish youth, in order to once again see his loved ones again, went against the universe. To meet his goals: he conquered Death, he shattered the gates of heaven, he overturned hell. However, he still has not been able to revive any one. Having reached the pinnacle, he can only wait like those before him.

He spent most of his time waiting, at the edge of existence. One day, he spotted a figure walking towards him. The figure, catching sight of the youth, started to run towards him. The youth took a stance, readying his blade.

As the figure came closer, a naked, disheveled man with a wide grin on his face revealed himself. The naked man made nonsensical souths to the youth, while the youth looked on with confusion and whispered under his breath, “Impossible.”

The sand continued to trickle down. Now an old man looks onto the hourglass. Then a man. Then a child. Then a man, once more.

The sand continued to trickle down, and a child once again stood with a barely filled hourglass behind him. The room has completely crumbled, showing a magnificent sky, split multiple ways. The rest of the palace now looked like ruins. The child spoke with an old man’s voice, “Time is running out. I hope my brothers have found a way.”

The sand continued to trickle down. Now a man stood with a barely filled hourglass behind him. The palace began fading into and out of existence.

A sudden chill pervaded the room. A beautiful woman walked through the ruined entrance. Then she tossed the head of the blond man in front of the king. She said with a sneer, “This is your only warning.”

The king did not look at the head and looked at the hourglass behind him, and sighed.

As the woman was leaving, a voice boomed from the sky, “Enter here again, and you shall die!” The woman looked with disdain, then punched the ceiling, breaking it. She let out another punch, shaking the starry sky, “Lowly beings should show respect to their leaders.” She then left, and the ceiling never reappeared.

Elsewhere, a baby was born to a mother, but to the horror of the wet nurses and the family, the baby did not cry, and instead spoke, “I’m alive?”

Looking on with horror, the father unsheathed a knife, “What have you done with my son, demon!?”

The baby boy looked at him, as if seeing through him, “Don’t worry father, it’s just that this isn’t my first time.” Grasping out, he snapped the knife in half. The father yelped and fainted, foaming from his mouth.

Treading a familiar path, this baby boy grew up to great heights as he journeyed to the far reaches of existence, until reaching the pinnacle.

He then came across a man in a desert, “You’re alive?!”

“That’s what I said.”

The two spoke for some time, and the baby boy, now a man, spoke, “I have no interest in this paltry contest. I just want to find her. Bear this for me, until a worthy successor comes.” The man from the desert nodded his head, as a symbol appeared on his forehead.

The man then appeared in a forest teeming with life. A woman was watching on as the creatures of the forest lived on, with a face full of content. When the man walked before her, both of them broke down in tears.

The man spoke, “I made a promise, didn’t I?” The woman rushed to him, pushing him down, as they embraced each other.

The sand continued to trickle down. Now a child, stood with the almost empty hourglass behind him. The room being the only place left in the palace, as the rest of the palace had faded out of existence.

A figure appeared in front of him, and with a warm voice spoke, “Child. Get some rest. There is no need to watch this thing anymore, for the end is near.”

The child rebutted, “I know there is no point, but it is my duty to guard until it stops. No matter how long it takes!”

The figure let out a sigh and turned around as tears fell from his perfect face, “Just say the word, and I’ll free you.”

“Before you go, can you take this man. I have accepted his favor, and any longer, he will also disappear.” The child pointed at a statue of a man in the corner of the room.

With a wave of the figure’s hand, the statue and the figure disappeared.

The sand continued to trickle down. Now an old man, stood with the almost empty hourglass behind him. With an empty expression, he continued to wait, as the room faded out of existence.

Elsewhere, in a humble planet housed a village. The sun was bearing heavily down on the villagers as they all huddled around the largest house in the village. Several people were sweating heavily due to the heat.

A man covered in beastskins and wearing a large belt adorned with numerous beast skills was pacing back and forth outside the house.

Someone quickly went outside the house to notify the man. As the man went in, he could hear a constant wailing. Following someone into a room, he let out a cry and found a bloodied woman on the bd. Another man went to him, “She couldn’t hold on. I’m sorry elder.” The elder kneeled beside the bed and let out several tears, as he closed the woman’s eyes.

He beckoned the others with a monotonous voice, “Where is the child?”

One of the wet nurses carrying the crying baby went to the elder and handed him the baby, without breathing as she was shivering. The elder looked upon the baby and spoke, “The heavens have been unfair to us.” The baby stopped crying as the elder spoke, “But you are Fortissimus’ son. I know you can bear the weight of the heavens. Hence, I shall call you Caelus.”

Elsewhere, a giant human looked on as the smoke cleared, revealing the upper half of a man. The man screamed at the giant, “What have you done?! Why did you do this?”

Ignoring those words, the giant asked, “Lucius is it. Was it worth killing my son for some stupid legacy?”

Bleeding heavily, half-dead man tried to escape, flying away with great speed and saying under his breath, “I have to live. I have to live. I have to live.”

However, the giant instantly appeared in front of him and coalesced power to one of his mangled fingers. The giant struck him on his forehead destroying him and the world they were on, saying, “I have been an unloving father for leaving you by yourself on your death. May the inhabitants of this world keep you company as you reincarnate. I will eternally torment your killer because not even millions of his deaths is enough to atone for the sin he has committed.”

A bright light flew out from the explosion, and as the giant was about to grab it, pain rang through his fingers. Seeing the bright light fly further away, he tried to reach out again, but several figures came to stop him. With anger in his eyes, the giant attacked the figures with his mangled fingers, causing explosions to echo out. However, after holding them back for a few seconds, the bright light was nowhere in sight.
