《Dragonslayer Awakens (The Flash Guardians series 1)》Ch 3: Drakoroarian legend
Advertisement
Long ago, after the slumber of the Devastrigon, its energy dispersed across Enchanteria and gave birth to the mighty dragons. Hybrids of all living creatures. Could fly at the highest spheres of the sky, wander amongst different habitat, and could swim the harshest and deepest seas. It's what made them special, admirable, powerful, and feared. They used to have conflicts against all other races, creatures, and monsters for the sake of their survival and dominance.
However, there was an unlikely occurrence, the mortals and dragons had developed a special bond. They dug deeper of what the dragons truly were. They’re unlike the Devastrigon, they just so happened to share the same image, although the reptilian hybrids did come in different silhouettes such as a shape of a snake, a shape of a bird, and even a shape of a four-legged beast.
The mortals studied and immersed with their nature, behavior, and their intelligence. No matter their race, beliefs, and powers, They saw peace and unity, they began to build their own nations from the ground up. And what better way for their homes to be built in different terrains in the name of the first and mightiest Great dragons. It rose as a diverse yet united kingdom named Drakoroaria. Ever since then, they had become the Dragon people, or simply called as Drakoroarians. They believe that dragons existed in Enchanteria as guidance towards divinity. Old records stated that they had different clans with names based on each Great dragons:
Vulcan - architects and builders who forge the ways of the flames. Marine - explorers and discoverers who travel the ways of the seas. Terran - farmers and providers who settle the ways of the lands. Gale - artist and scholars who express the ways of the winds. Lumen - priests and philosophers who seek the ways of the light.
Because of what happened long ago, the outside world only saw the Drakoroarians as the servants of Hell because of the Devastrigon, but the clan leaders thought that it was best to seek peace for the sake of not just for Drakoroaria, but for the entire Enchanteria- after all, it’s in their beliefs to also give guidance to the world.
Even the Flash guardians wished to work together with the clans to end wars and aid each other to make the world a much better place than it ever was.
But, a certain group of Dragon people had felt that their beliefs meant something more. They were deceived once they envisioned a prophecy that the world will become pitch black, like from the very beginning of the world’s creation, but this time it would soon be flooded with fire. They saw it as a sign of a new era of Drakoroarians as supreme.
This was the birth of the Darken clan- visionaries and seekers who lurk deeper in the ways of the dark. Led by a false prophet of unknown origins, though he was called the Dark superior with a winged, horned serpent that breathes such unspeakable fatality. They must stay hidden, as if they never existed, until it was the right time to wage war against the Flash guardians, tore the kingdoms apart in every landmass, destroy their former and foolish fellow Drakoroarians who refused to join them, and finally, awakened the one that gave birth to their immeasurable power - the Devastrigon.
Its size was enormous enough to conquer half the morning sky with its gigantic wings, that can cause whirlwinds from each flap. Its scaly, yet, armored body were crackling with lava as if it was a living volcano.

The dragon’s long tail, with a single whip, could shatter the nearly indestructible landscapes of Enchanteria. The black claws from its four limbs could even shatter the earth when it lands. Each of the three heads of the Devastrigon came with different horn formation.
The right head, labeled as chaos, had horns that were curved forward at each side of its temples.
The middle head, labeled as death, had horns on top and were raised upward and pointed back.
The left head, labeled as destruction, had horns curved backwards at each side of its temple.
On top of their heads blaze the hellish flames that stretched across its back till the tip of its tail. As it was the Darkened one's creation, it became its destruction a beautiful ruin. The three ruins had become a being of true force to be reckoned with.
Even the Flash guardians thought that this mission could be their last. Even the power of Drakoroaria was not efficient enough. Not until an unlikely help arrived. Carrying nothing but heavy armor, a sword, a horned helmet, a shield, and a bow and arrow. A stranger appeared out of nowhere and, with nothing like the guardians had ever seen before, had demonstrated such power that even the strongest dragons trembled.
In the Drakoroarian legend, no one knows his name nor where he came from, but songs had spread these rumors of him as the infamous "Dragonslayer", who, after such a long slumber, had been awakened by the thundering roars of the Great dragons.
He had one mission in mind: to settle the score with the Devastrigon and the Darken clan. With the combined forces of the slayer, the Flash guardians, and the five clans, had managed to ultimately damage the three-headed dragon before sealing it back into the Underworld- letting it succumb by darkness to cool its flames and return to its slumber once more.
The Darken clan were punished. Its people and the dragons were locked in the deepest abyss known as the Void, a different place than the Underworld. It was a vast, blank, black space where their souls turned to silent smoke. A worse kind of imprisonment.
No one knew what happened to the unknown avenger. However, thanks to him, the peace between Enchanteria and the Drakoroaria kingdom had been restored. The clan leaders had dedicated themselves to guard the Void, and it's best to leave the Enchanteria as it was so there could be no disturbance.
That was many years ago. Perhaps the Drakoroarian legend had put into sleep- best to be forgotten, but the world had known the tales. Flash guardians had been evolving into greater heroes with much greater power, strategies, and arsenal in case the worst would return.
Today, the three heads had returned. How was it awakened? How could the seal be broken? Was it still not strong enough for such a menace? Alas, there was no time for questions as actions needed to protect the queen, save the innocents, and deal with the Devastrigon’s unexpected return.
The morning blue sky was now blanketed with crimson clouds. Lightning and thunder stormed fear across the people. The dragon was so humungous, it could even cover perhaps an entire land.
The Flash guardians didn't even hesitate for a second, nor they'd been possessed by fear. Instead, the black-armored guardian began his command. He touched his communicator on his exposed right ear of his black helmet. "Giuseppe, code crimson. I repeat, code crimson. Requesting reinforcements, now!"
Before the Devastrigon could breathe hell fire, each snout of the three heads was abruptly wrapped by golden large lassos. From the opposite side of the crimson atmosphere, flashes of light boomed before their eyes.

Flash guardians on griffins came out of the flashing light. They were split into two parts before going around the three-headed dragon.
There were forty griffins on the left and the same number on the right. Each was mounted by two guardian riders. On the front was the pilot and behind was holding a shining rifle pointing at the dragon. "Is this all of them?" asked the black-armored guardian to Giuseppe, who was back at the Flash guardian HQ.
"Not yet, the capturing team will be preparing the big guns," Giuseppe responded to the black-armored guardian via comms.
"Make it fast, also requesting transport for the Raiders in the Flash guardian hold and the queen to the-"
A strong wind from the Devastrigon's single flap of its ginormous wings almost blew them away. But the flying guardians kept their balance mid-air. The ones with shining rifles shot lightning that was quick enough to create a force field surrounding the dragon.
"Giuseppe, we have it immobilized, we need the big guns immediately."
Over the black-armored guardian's head, beams of light started forming a large light blue sphere that was surrounding Devastrigon. He raised his head higher to see more Flash guardian riders coming in close to the danger.
"You're welcome, Erik," said Giuseppe.
The black-armored guardian named Erik turned to his team. He began muttering, "Shit, this turn of events is pissing me off." He quickly changed his composure from annoyance to professional- as a golden rank Flash guardian should act at this moment. "Alright, Flash guardians, we've got more work to do."
"Goddammit," The Flash guardian with the faded haircut sighed.
The Raiders began to shine and faded away like clouds of dust, meaning they were transported to the Flash guardian hold. The queen, meanwhile, was escorted by her two guards. Other Flash guardians began to escort the people out of the Marketplace. Queen Heather’s warily scanned the crowd.
Elise Berryrewd was trying her best to cradle the children together like a swan protecting them under her wings. Xabe couldn't stop hearing the crowd's panic, fear, and anxiety that started to loom inside his head. The young boy even started to hear the dragon's growl.
So, he thought, do things get any worse? Unfortunately, it did. Behind the large force field, the Devastrigon's silhouette started to brighten in hellish red color. From that, a huge shockwave affected the sky and the Capital Marketplace. It blew the flying guardians.
The Ascentilian guards raised their spears to shoot out a white force field that could protect all of them from the continuing shockwave. "My queen." The guard caught her majesty from falling. Queen Heather's eyes shifted from the crowd; she saw families gathering their children, while the young Flash guardians raised their voices. "Get to the evacuation zone!" yelled the elf-orc hybrid.
The black-armored Flash guardian ran into the escorting guards. "Erik." Queen Heather's worry grew even more.
"Giuseppe will send a flash portal for the queen's safety any time now!" And just like that, after a simple flash, they were gone. "Wow, that was quick."
He turned his head to the long-haired guardian. "Hugo, create a storm when the shield reaches its limits. Channel it as long as possible to give the people more time to be evacuated."
Erik faced the elf-orc hybrid and a witch with a black cat. "Jorken, Yrlin, provide support to Hugo. Reach a suitable distance that Hugo’s storm can reach. Now go!" By the time another shockwave interrupted them, the three Flash guardians took action by running closer to the Devastrigon. Jorken, having the magical ability to shape-shift, changed into a bronze griffin and at the right time, Hugo and Yrlin hopped onto the flying creature's back.
The black-armored guardian watched as they took off. The faded haircut guardian hurriedly approached him. "Erik."
"Nisr, how many have reached the evacuation zone?" Erik stirred his head left and right to see the running crowd.
"Not enough, there's still too many here. It is the weekend, dude, what can I say? Willy has summoned as much nature spirits as possible to organize the crowd. But-" Nisr almost lost his balance from the abrupt shockwave. "It's uncertain if even Hugo and Yrlin can hold the dragon for long."
The elf Flash guardian named Willy had summoned enough nature spirits to lead them away to the exit. They were mostly feminine in appearance. They were the spirits of life and grace. And now here they were, escorting the people to safety.
Erik pointed at a near building. “Nisr, I need you up in there in the roof near us for a better view.”
“You got it, boss.” Nisr saluted with his two fingers. “Excuse me, coming through.” He was like a leaf passing through the wind of the people before looking up to a building. On his left hand was a grappling hook that he shot up high before he zip-lined unto the roof.
In the air, Jorken the griffin with the two mounted Flash guardians were close enough to the Devastrigon. Yrlin the witch watched the force field slowly dying as it blinked. "Okay, if the hole is big enough, that’s our only chance to extinguish the flames."
"That big?" Hugo could see the struggling three-headed dragon.
"Don’t worry, I know how to back you up," Yrlin chuckled.
As soon as the blinking force field had reached its limit, Hugo started to create swirling tornadoes as he stretched his arms. "Now, Hugo!" Yrlin said at the top of her lungs.
Hugo the storm summoner hurled his hands to let the tornadoes loose with a yell. "This is going to be good," sang Yrlin as she clasped her hands before they shone bright purple. It's time to boost his power. Her eyes began to glow as well and finally, she cast a spell when her hands opened wide. "Rain, bitch, rain!"
As Hugo's tornadoes came close, white lightning became purple as the storm began to match the enormous size of the Devastrigon. The dragon was pushed away from the Capital Marketplace slowly. The purple lightning zapped its armory scale, hoping to crack its nerves, while the downpour splashed away the flames.
"Nisr." Yrlin contacted the eagle-eye guardian via comms. "How's everyone?"
On the rooftop, Nisr scanned the area fast. The people at the end of the Capital Marketplace had reached the evacuation zone. Three huge portals began to open. "It took a while, but they're still going." From what he was seeing, he noticed one individual who was not going to the evacuation- but marching where the danger was happening.
The stranger wore nothing special as he was wrapped with a long, torn cloak. Some common folk glanced at the unknown figure, but evacuating was more important in this situation. The figure even managed to pass by the Ascentilian guards, Erik, and Willy.
Nisr's eyes grew wider than his thoughts progressed about what he was seeing. He wanted to be in denial, there was no way at first. But could it be? Suddenly, over the horizon echoed the roaring sound of the three-headed dragon.
As the last batch of the crowd passed him, the unknown figure threw the cloak away, revealing a crimson leather armor, a brown tasset belt, bronze shoulder pads, black torn pants, and a rusty horned bronze helmet. The sound of the heavy, black boots were enough to make his presence as a one-man army. Behind the helmet was his braided brownish beard, messy hair let loose at the back of his head, and his eyes burning from his wrath. He was carrying a round bronze shield and a steel sword.
The Dragonslayer had returned.
