As Via and I walked down the road, she asked me, “How do you come up with your plans anyway? Is there some sort of secret to be able to do that?”
I shrugged my shoulders and told her, “Not really, I just take ideas from what I’ve read in books about past exploits other protectors have used and implement them in my plans. I guess it would take a while to read all of them though. I can’t work them out to their most efficient because I’m powerless though.”
She bent over and looked at my face, her silky black hair falling to one side, and told me with sincere eyes, “They seem to work really well though. I’ll stick to just fighting though and leave the plans to you. I don’t feel like reading history.”
I felt my chest tighten up as she stood straight back. Is this from the injuries I received from Mr. Grey? I remembered then about everyone else that were still unconscious when I left. I told Via with a smile, “Sounds good to me. I wouldn’t last that long in a head on fight. I wonder if the people that were injured during the quiz are conscious again? They all seemed really out when I saw them laying in the beds.”
Via confidently said, “I’m sure they are fine. Crystal High probably has the best medics out of any school.”
I nodded. She is right. I’m probably worrying for no reason. Looking back, Zen did look really peaceful laying there. I still regret that I couldn’t get her to pass the quiz. Even if Via is trying to get me to move on, it still hurts that I failed. I don’t want to feel like this again.

All of a sudden, I felt a sharp pain go across the back of my neck. I felt my legs go numb, and I started to fall to the ground. I could hear Via turn quickly and look at me and say, “What’s the matt—“
When I landed on the ground, Via landed right beside me. She looked at me, eyes wide with shock, and exclaimed, “What’s going on? Who’s there?”
I tried to look up, but I couldn’t move my head either. My whole body feels numb. I could hear people talking above me as I struggled on the ground to move my body even a little bit, and Via’s demands to know who our attackers are. One of our attackers, a male, told someone, “There I paralyzed him and the girl. You just told me I had to paralyze the guy. You never mentioned there would be a girl with him.”
Another voice came in response to the first one saying, “I didn’t thinkthere would. He’s a sagaru. I didn’t think anyone would want to associate with him.”
Via shouted back a retort saying, “I guess you though wrongthen.”
“Why does Via have to be so strong willed?” I thought. “She is just going to make this worse.”
The second voice reprimanded her saying, “You better be quiet girl, or I won’t be as nice as I was planning to be. Your voice is getting really fucking annoying.”
Just then I recognized the second voice. It was a female voice. I probably wouldn’t have recognized it once a couple of weeks has passed, but since I just heard the voice yesterday, it was fresh on my mind. I yelled out to the girl, “Hey, you are that red-haired girl that was a part of that terrorist attack yesterday! What do you want from me? You don’t have anything to gain by doing this.”

I could hear the girl say in a matter of fact tone, and feel her breath next to my ear as she bent down to me to respond saying, “Actually, we do have something to gain by taking you.”
She got up from being near me, and directed her words to her partner as she told him, “We need to carry both of them with us. The boy for our original purpose, and the girl because we don’t want to have any witnesses. We need to hurry and head out before our cover is blown that Genna gave us.”
Come to think of it, shouldn’t have somebody have walked by us by now? It isn’t really late, and we aren’t off in an alley or anything. There should at least be other students from the school walking by on their way home. What’s going on? I felt the man pick me up, and he put me on his shoulder. He did the same with Via, and he put her on his other shoulder. Now that I could feel the man’s body, I realized that he was a pretty big guy. Not as big as Bruno though, the other big guy in the terrorist group, but this one was still pretty large though. He carried Via and I like it was nothing, and we just walked down the street like it was normal. I could hear Via hurling insults and demands at them over my thoughts, and I stayed in silence, trying to figure out what was going on. Eventually the red-haired girl grabbed Via by the hair, and lifted her head up to look at her, and she shouted, “No one can hear you! Look at this, HEY, LOOK AT ME EVERYONE! WE ARE KIDNAPPING THESE TWO! See, no reaction. No one knows we are here, so can you please shut up!”
How do people not know that we are here? Why are we being taken somewhere? What the fuck is going on?!
