▌│█║▌║▌║Chapter 15 ║▌║▌║█│▌
It was a averaged height slender man that walked in the door. He had black hair covering his right eye, and a black cloak covering his body. He had sky blue eyes, that seemed a little vacant of life. He walked up to the front of the class and told us all with a monotone voice, "Good day students. My name is Mr. Grey, and I am an assassin type protector. This is my first year here teaching. I'm not as famous as Mr. ShadowFox of class P-A, but I have just as much experience. Now that I have told you introduction why don't all of you introduce yourselves in front of the class so we know each other. It shouldn't be a problem since all fifteen of you are here. State your name, power, power level, and one goal. You Airhead in the front, you go first."
He pointed to the blonde haired girl sitting on the far right corner of the room, who was staring off into space. She looked up at Mr. Grey, and blinked twice at him before realizing what happened. She stood up at her desk, and told the class, "My name is Trea, and my power is to be able to create explosive bubbles with bubble gum. My power level is 5.5, and my goal is to become a famous protector of our country."
She sat back down, and next in line was a blonde haired boy. He stood up, and with a smile told the class energetically, "My name is Wayne! My power is to produce electric shocks through the palms of my hands, and my power level is 6! My goal is to become a famous protecter too, and make loads of money."
As expected most people's goals are going to become a famous protector and make loads of money. Next up was a brown, curly haired boy named Bume. Once he stood up I realized he was the boy who shook the earth, that was fighting Drazen during the exam. He is pretty powerful. Next up was a purple haired girl named Itsuki. She seemed pretty shy. Her power is being able to solidify air for a short period of time, and move it around. She can't solidify large areas of air, but it seems effective. Her power level is a 5. Next up was a spikey, green haired boy, whose name was Grease. His power is being able to send laser like slashes, from out of his fore arms. They seems to travel pretty slow though. His power level is a 6. Next in line was a freckle faced, red haired girl named Heather. Her power is being able to see into the future by five seconds. It's a really powerful ability, but she can't control when she is able to use it most of the time though. She passed the exam with the help of her classmates. Her power level is a 5. The last person I didn't know the name of was a gruff boy named Lee. He had pretty normal strength enhance ability, but it is increased several fold from a normal person's. He has a power level of 6. Next up was Jack. He said he had the power to disappear and reappear in shadows. A prime candidate for an assassin type protector. He has a power level of 6.5. The rest I already knew of, and everyone pretty much had the same goal. When it finally got to me, I didn't really know what to say at first. After I thought a bit and gathered some resolve, I stood up from my seat and stated firmly, "My name is Khan, and I am a sagaru. I don't have any powers. I have a power level of 0. I made it to where I'm at due to hard work and determination. I don't have any talent to speak of, but that leads me to my goal. My goal isn't to become famous or make a lot of money, but it would be a nice plus if I did. It's to become a signal of hope to everyone out there, that anyone can do whatever they want in life. No matter what social status or power they are birthed with."

I sat back down. I could see Mr. Grey's eyes light up from curiosity how I got here. Thomas stared at me with eyes full of life. People started to chatter a bit. Via and Zen seemed to be unphased from it though. Via saw what I could do, and Zen has heard it so many times now she is already used to it. She stood up after me, and went straight into her monolog speaking firmly, but beautifully, "My name is Zen. I can manipulate moisture in the air and water into ice. My power level is 8. My goal is to become not only just a protector, but a hero for everyone in this country."
She sat back down, and the conversations people had immediately shifted from how defective I am, to how amazing Zen is. Which is true she is the most amazing person I have met in my life. Even though I never talked to her, I can tell she works her ass off to improve. Being able to increase your power level to be that high at such a young age is no small feat. Mr. Grey seemed to have the same expression throughout everyone's monologs though, except for Zen's and mine. Which his eyes seemed to be just a little less vacant for a couple of seconds during it. After everyone was done, Mr. Grey told the whole class, "Now everyone follow me. In order to teach and train you, I need to see where everyone is at in person."
Wayne perked right up from his seat, and told Mr. Grey, "But Sir! We have orientation we have to go to in ten minutes."
Mr. Grey looked a bit surprised as he exclaimed in a monotone voice, "Oh! I just got the news I was accepted to be a teacher last week, so I don't know what goes on here. I guess you should probably go to orientation, even though it's a pain in the ass. First day on the job, and they are already messing with my teaching methods."
We all stared at each other in bewilderment of the teacher until it was time to go to orientation. He was a pretty weird one.

At The Precipice
Defenseless. Scared. Alone. That describes the life of Brock Carter as of late. Following his ‘death’ at the hands of a vicious magpie, Brock is rescued by the machinations of the newly instated, all-powerful System and thrust knee-deep into a brutal world catered only to the strong. Fluctuating between two states of being and trapped within a city ravaged by time, he is told to either seek out the mysterious ‘Source’, or die trying. He just hopes he can do it without scuffing his expensive suit in the process. ***** Honestly, I've just always wanted to write a story. I had a crack at it a few years back, but the entire thing fell apart before it even began. At The Precipice was originally written as a way for me to destress and play with System elements and characters, but eventually I decided that if I was gonna write, why not post it too? Writing's just a hobby of mine, so don't expect this to be at published novel level, I guess, or even anything of relative polish. Updates every Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs-Fri Average chapter length is 2000 - 3000 words ***** What to expect: - A semi-comedic/light tone, mixed in with a gritty world and brutal survival (not ever grimdark though) - An MC that thinks about what he's going to do and why he'll do it, even if his internal logic is lacking. Is a rather rational person, not often influenced by his emotions, but can be in extreme situations. - A plot heavily focused upon the MC, but one that will branch off to envelope the other characters in the world at times. Often, it's just other people's perspectives of him. - A story of power growth. While the MC is certainly going to be powerful, even over 100 chapters in from what I've written, he still isn't the strongest being on Earth, let alone the entire Multiverse. - Lots of gore, vivid fight descriptions, and often times deaths of people, some even somewhat important to the story ***** Things this story will never have: - Harems - An edgy, villainous MC - An MC that does jackshit about things for 'plot reasons'

Lorian Ellins [Dropped]
Lorian found himself in the medieval European style world, thinking he went back in time. However, upon inquiring, he realized history, customs and as such were different. This was a whole new world he knew nothing about. A place where powerful were respected and feared, a place where monsters and different races existed. After a lucky encounter, Lorian manages to secure a job, home and survival. However, the world is large and ready to be explored. Lorian won't be lost in mediocrity. This is his destiny. Nonetheless, everyone starts at a low point in life. Fast growth and OPness seemed impossible even with the help of the system. , Life is neither a game nor a bunch of numbers. It's far more complex and unpredictable. We don't know where we stand in the future, or is there even future prepared for us? I always thought that overused motto in wuxia novels, '' I want to control my destiny '' was cliche and we had less control over our lives as they are dictated by many other factors. This world taught me otherwise, thus this place shall be my new beginning. '' PS: The cover is not mine. It was randomly found on the internet. The cover was edited by Nefarious. https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/20337/the-pale-orphan - Link to his fiction
