How did I even end up here...
Chapter 3: School & Reflection
I woke up and saw my parents getting ready, I asked them what was happening.
My mom laughed a little and said "Veyn, you forgot already? we're enrolling you on school!"
No I haven't!..
Yes, I did.
While Mother and Father were getting ready they asked me to change my clothes and went out to the Magic Academy.
I looked up as the big sign saying "Kingstone Academy" completely beat me in height.
We went in and was greeted by a professor, the professor guided us to the principal's office.
We entered the principal's office and so....
Here I was.
How did I end up here?
I looked around in confusion and was gonna ask how my parents got this opportunity, but before I had, the principal, Sir. Oswalt explained it first.
My father was well known around the kingdom and Sir. Oswalt knows him best.
My father and Sir. Oswalt were partners in adventuring, they were practically best friends.
Father introduced me to this handsome, young-looking and blond man
and told him to enrol me, but the principle was not yet convinced because of my age, so my father told me to do a demonstration.
We went to the school training ground for knights and my father told me to release some of my magic.
Pouring in all my Mana into this one spell. I chanted in my head..
(Fire in my hand blow away my enemies and cover them with fright. fireball)
This was Beginner class magic that I learned from books, but I modified it with my knowledge.
I thought this was enough and pretty amazing for a 4 years old..
I heard a loud noise and just ignored it considering it as noise from the magic training grounds as students were duelling and testing their magical ability here.

However, it suprised me to realize that when opened my eyes the target was destroyed. After, I was like a drunk person trying to gain my balance and almost fainted.
When I looked at my side,
the principal looked impressed as he ran to me. I was getting nervous when the look of amazement was so intense it took out pressure within.
We went back to the office and talked about my enrollment and gave me a chance to have my own opinion...
I knew what I had to say because...
"I was a king. Everybody looked up to me for my talents. Many people wanted to manipulate me for it. The uncomfortable feeling every time I meet up with other people as if they were predators looking at their next prey."
I don't want that.
I don't even want to imagine that happening again. I left my past life in my past world. I will not let myself be an outcast and a doll made for its country.
My new life has been granted. My choices now matter.
I don't want to relive that miserable life I had.
I told them the ideas and the life I wanted to live,
and so.. I decided to enrol at a much later age..
Oswalt's POV:
Hmpf.. He may be Jervis's son but his arrogance knows no bounds... is what I thought.
As soon as he closed his eyes a fireball came out of his hands, without a wand and without a chant.
Since he was Jervis's son I thought this child was a swordsman but considering that this child is also Ruby's child it was possible. I didn't expect much from the fireball as it was the "weakest fire spell"
I was just surprised with the no chant and spell without a wand. The Fireball started spinning.

Calculating the velocity and speed of the spin, was like looking at a fire show.
The spell was shot and a loud noise was heard all over the academy.
The target was destroyed and the child was almost gonna faint. Seeing this I rushed over with a shine in my eyes. However, I forgot something crucial. He was human..
We got ready to back home and said our goodbyes to the people there.
We were close to the gate but I saw
The girl I saved before running to me while shouting "WAIT".
I walked fastly toward her and she slowed down. She was holding a thing which looked like a box and while being shy, gave me this and said
"H-here take t-this and enjoy, I m-made it myself."
It was actually a lunch box she prepared for me.
Seeing her condition. She didn't look rich and probably worked hard to make this.
I took it gently from her while smiling.
I said, "Thank you!" Cheerfully, she looked happy and so we said goodbye.
While going back home satisfied with the memorable and quite fun memories I made. I didn't even begin to notice people steadily going closer and closer to our carriage.
We were gonna get robbed by bandits.
The group jumped and immediately destroyed the wheels of the carriage and 5 of them ganged up on my father.
Father tried to fight but they always went to his other side to avoid the arm.
Some went to my father's back and ambushed him.
I snapped out of it and chanted paralyzing magic that I came up with during those 4 years while also trying to awaken.
That barely did anything. The bandit was paralyzed for 2-3 seconds and can move perfectly again, but that was enough for father to injure them greatly.
Mother and I were also attacked by some bandits. I was trying to chant and was panicking when I realized I was all out of mana since I put them all earlier in the magic demonstration.
I was convinced that I was powerful since I destroyed that target earlier but, it just because I poured all my Mana into it.
The bandit was looking excited for they were sure that they can have their fun with mother.
I chanted with all my might.
It didn't work.
I was going to die. Again.
Suddenly father jumped with his hand holding his sword and cut the bandit in half.
The other bandits looked around and saw multiple dead bodies and injured people. They were scared and ran away.
We went home not looking too good and the whole time, thoughts that were in my mind was
"What if father didn't make it in time"
"What if they captured mother and had
raped her"
"WHY WAS I TOO WEAK"
"Way too weak..."
I was really scared even though I was a king previously.
I swore to myself,
"I will get stronger while living my life at the same time"
Over and over until we were midway home.
My mother looked at me and saw my scared expression. Seeing this, she hugged me tightly and quietly said
"It's okay to cry dear."
I blew my eyes out for a few minutes and got embarrassed after. Mother and I laughed at my tomato-red face.
Father glanced back at us and smiled.
After all of that, we eventually got home.
Somewhere in the kingdom of Ceitioties
A message contained..
"Assassination of B-Class Adventurer
Jervis Freston... Failed."
