《The Journey to Godhood: A Madman's Dream》Ch 22: "This I wanted to hear."

"Don't worry she will be fine."
But I was not.
"Warning, severe damage to inner organs, proceeding with emergency measures. Reconstructing."
A pain difficult to describe was felt as the nanobots reconstructed my damaged tissue and organs.
"Puh." Black blood was spat out as I went on one knee.
"Master." Elise ran towards me and wanted to help me up.
"It's fine. There is no danger to my life."
Elise sighed.
"I know, don't make me worry like that again."
"That I can't promise." I smiled.
"Reconstruction complete, rest is adviced."
"Not time waste." I looked towards the king who stood there deep in thought.
"Alas, she was not strong enough." The king sighed and picked Fiona up and gave her to a guard who rushed her to somewhere.
Then he approached me his face showed no malicious intent nor anger.
"Grandfather, please appease your anger. In a fight, fists have no eyes."
"Julius, my grandchild. We are not angry, don't worry."
"As expected of a great king, not going back to one's word, this one admires you even more."
Uncle Lee stepped forward and clasped his fists in respect.
"It would be wrong. The fault lies with us. Fiona, while she is not a bad person, was too ruthless just now. We don't know how you survived her strike but we are glad that no harm came to you."
The king looked down at me his eyes were shining with a curious light.
"Lad, tell us how did you manage to survive?"
"Oh, it's simple, her losing had nothing to do with my personal power. In a fair fight, I would have lost."
"Hoo? You say you used a kind of weapon? You mean that red beam of yours?"
"Exactly you see this left arm of mine is foreign to my body. Let me show it to you."
With a few clicks on the interface, my left arm detached.
"Here catch."
The king grabbed the arm mid-air.
"This..."
He seemed to notice something which peaked his interest.
"This is not skin? It's something we have never seen, it is as tough as high-grade metals." After getting a feel for the alloy he seemed to inspect the inner workings of my artificial arm.
A grey mana coated the arm.
"By the gods, the power source is fundamentally different from this worlds laws yet there is no conflict or rejection. The source is not the elements!"
By now the king raised his voice due to his shock. Well, my artificial housed a matter-antimatter reactor that didn't run on elemental power. It only converted the mana into fuel, for the consequences I couldn't care less. What did it matter why it worked as long as it worked.
The king was dumbfounded. His mouth was opening and closing at a fixed interval.
Julius and the bunch were equally shocked. The sight of the king losing his kingly demeanor seemed shocked them to their bones.
"Grandfather?"
"Ah, We are sorry we just were just too shocked ."
His hands still trembling he gave me back my arm which I reattached.
"Lad, you need to tell me, where did you get that artifact?"
By now the king dropped his royal manner of speech.
"Everyone except for Julius is to go back to the sect. Uncle Lee take Elise back home."
"No way, I wanna stay."
"Do as I say, Elise, we adults need to discuss adult matters. Matters that can only be understood if one is an adult. Someone who isn't an adult has no place in this discussion."
"But master..."
A sigh escaped my mouth which signaled Elise to let it be.
"Alright, alright." Elise crossed her arms and turned around leaving the hall. She didn't wait for the others or even spared a glance for the king.
"Don't worry young master. I will deliver her back safely." Uncle Lee laughed awkwardly and clasped his hands to me and the king.
The rest departed leaving me and Julius behind.
I turned back to the king who was waiting with patience.
"Before we discuss this matter we better go to a more suitable place. Also our fight needs to be postponed, my tummy hurts."
"To my study then." The king laughed awkwardly as he gestured the way.
I jumped on my throne and left the hall with the king and Julius.
...
At the king's study, the smell of paper was in the air. Thousands of books and scrolls were neatly placed in shelves and barrels.
"I have put around a sound barrier it should be safe."
I nodded.
"King Athoras van Velen, I envy you to have such a great descendant. Without Julius, you would have missed the opportunity of your lifetime."
"Not only will I solve all the problems of the Kingdom, I will also unify all the other Kingdoms under one banner, the banner of the lion."
"You might ask how can this small profound dude spout such outrageous words? Well, that's because behind every word I speak there is truth. Especially my lies are true. When I say I do it, I do it."
"With a flick of my sleeve, I can produce weapons of mass destruction out of thin air. While wizards and scholars study years and years to develop spells that are equal to an infants fart, I create wonders where I shit."
"To come back to your question, this arm, the flying ship I arrived in, all these wonders are created by me!"
King Athoras looked at me with gleaming eyes.
Julius smiled wryly as he said.
"Grandfather, I didn't believe ancestors words back then only for him to open my eyes."
"You call him ancestor?" King Athoras couldn't believe his ears.
"Wait until you see what ancestor is capable of, when grandfather sees it with your own eyes, the idea of calling him ancestor is much more acceptable."
"What would our ancestors think." King Athoras seemed to a bit uncomfortable.
"I have still respect for our ancestors. It's just that I joined the profound heaven sect and since ancestor is the founding father it is only proper to address him as such."
"Profound Heaven Sect?"
"Yes, grandfather you won't believe with just a-"
"Alright, alright." If he keeps going on he will spill the beans I intended to keep.
"Yes, I have build a martial arts sect inside Velen's mountain range."
"You did? I heard no news of it yet."
"Well, that is because I created the sect overnight and it is concealed inside a mountain."
"Inside a mountain?" A ting of doubt showed on the king's face.
"Every organization needs to be approved by this king, you... well whatever."
I chuckled.
"I guess there is no use in talking, how about this since your time is so valuable, why don't I just show you instead of trying to convince you with words."
"If what you said is true I will consider becoming your backer, if not humph, the consequences of deceiving this king are severe indeed, even if you are just a child, don't think I will go easy on you."

"Great, great, then let's waste no time. In a moment you are going to feel a force sweeping over you. No matter what don't try to resist, the outcome of doing so, I don't dare to imagine."
"Yes sure go ahead." The king had a slight grin on his face with his arms crossed.
"Thorus to USS Rekt."
"Yes, captain." A lovely voice sounded from the speakers inside my left arm.
"Three people to beam up."
"Aye captain."
"Energize."
My vision turned dark and Julius, king Athoras and me got beamed into the transporter room.
The scenery changed, we were now inside my ship, the smell of sandalwood hit my nostrils
"What?"
The king lost his shit, his eyes were wide and he had trouble adjusting to the situation.
"Teleportation magic?"
"Magic? I beg to differ, we don't operate on such savage powers."
"Julius."
"Don't worry grandfather, all your questions will be answered." Even Julius had an air of mystery around him and he only smiled.
"Hahaha, king Athoras, let me show you around the ship."
"Ship? Are we on the sea? I can't seem to penetrate the ship with my soul sense."
When one reached S rank one could use soul sense to scan the area.
"Hehehe, no, not on sea, we are in space. Please this way, we are going to the bride."
"Space?!?"
On the way to the bride, we met many of the holographic crew members, when the king saw them his eyes widen in shock. I guessed part of it was because they were all beauties that countries would fight for and second of all they showed no life signs.
Getting inside the turbo lift the king broke the silence.
"Your crew, they are showing no signs of life."
"Yes, they are just projections. They are artificial beings controlled by the ship's computer."
The wooden doors opened.
"Captain on the bride." Number one stood attention and the other crew members followed suit.
"Relax, today we have an important guest. King Athoras van Velen. I want your best behavior, no one is to disrespect him. Please take a seat, your majesty." I showed him the seat to the right.
I jumped down from my floating throne and sat down on the captain's seat.
Instead of being angered for not being offered the best seat the king was unusually quiet. His eyes were already brighter than the stars. His armor made noise as he sat down. Julius and number one stood beside us.
"Your majesty."
"Yes?" The king replied a bit late.
"I will show you proof that we are in space. If I'm able to, then I hope we will have an agreement that will be beneficial to us both."
"Space..." The king took a deep breath.
"Lad, if you prove that we are indeed in space were only gods can traverse, I will wholeheartedly support you."
"Good, Ensign show visuals of Terra, on screen."
"Aye captain."
Terra's whole beauty appeared on the screen.
"This." The king jumped to his feet.
"Yes, this is Terra your home."
"Who, who are you?."
"Didn't I tell you? I'm Thorus, the most profound man under the heavens. A consummate educator, concerned citizen of the kingdom Velen."
The king shook his head as he sighed.
"In my whole life, I have never met someone as astonishing as you. A little kid who can pierce through the heavens and fly among the stars. Makes it hard to believe you are only a child"
I chuckled, he was not far off.
He turned around and looked at me with meaningful eyes.
"Let's go to my ready room. Julius stay here and wait."
In my ready room.
When king Athoras entered the room he became shocked from the holographic courtyard inside my ready room.
"A self-contained world inside a room?"
"Surely you jest. This is just a projection." I couldn't help but chuckle.
"A projection? How wondrous, I can even feel the wind and the smell the scent of plants and flowers."
"Please if a man of your status continues to praise me too much, I'll feel uncomfortable. Please take a seat. Do you want something to drink?"
"I'm fine."
I went to the replicator.
"Tea, Earl Grey. Hot."
I sat down and before I could take a sip the King exclaimed again.
"Creating something out of nothing."
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"It's nothing like that." I took a sip and enjoyed the aroma.
"Excuse me, I feel like a toad in a well, I thought I had a pretty good understanding of the laws and mysteries of the heavens. But now my core beliefs are shaken."
"I applaud you for having such a wise mindset. It is important to understand ones standing beneath the heavens. What are we compared to gods and devils? Even compared to the vast world and realms we might only be a speck of dust in a desert of monsters. I know exactly what I'm talking about, for I have experienced the apex of might."
The king's eyes narrowed.
"You might be a fierce expert in the mortal realm, not many people would dare offend you. Your strength a deterrent to those who look at Velen with greedy eyes. But how long will we able to scare off our enemies? Velen's protector has been in secluded meditation for almost a decade. I heard rumors of snakes hiding in bushes waiting for an opportunity to strike."
Athoras didn't say anything he listened with deep concentration.
I took another sip of my tea and stroked my beard.
"Velen can be counted as my home. I have done some research and the peace was never as fragile as now. People become restless and even the supreme protector can't ease the people's mind, especially now that he didn't show his face for ten years."
After a beard flick, I continued.
"I have heard that you held on the throne for too long. Let me confirm, is that because none of your descended is worthy to inherit the burden of the kingdom?"
A dim light flashed in his eyes and his eyes twitched a bit.
"It's not that simple."
"Do you mind enlightening me?"
The king crossed his arms, closing his eyes he went into deep thought.
"I'm not sure if I can trust you enough. Julius seems to be quite devoted to you, but I always knew him to be green behind his ears and not the best to judge a person's character."
"Good, good. I was afraid you would agree to hastily, It is reassuring to know that you are not senile and still take precautions."
Athoras arms dropped and he blinked a few times.
"Hehehe, don't make that face it's unfitting for a fierce expert like you. Don't worry, a partnership requires a common ground, let your grandchild Julius be that common ground.
As an educator of the highest degree, his well being is my top priority. He is already a member of my sect and has my full backing. Through the blood bond, you share you can be counted as extended family.
Also as a gesture of my good will, I will train an army that will be able to operate spacecrafts such as this vessel. Don't underestimate the firepower of the U.S.S Rekt, it can annihilate everything under SS rank. And even SS ranked expert need to be careful not to lose their life. I will deliver five of such spaceships."
The king's eyes widen and he stood upright.
"I can detect no lies. You are too mysterious young man. Judging by your features you must be no older than five years old, except for the beard you seem like a normal kid."
"It must make you feel uneasy, this body of mine is only two years old but will you believe me that the soul that resides in it is much more ancient."
"Are you implying that you are a reincarnated expert?"
"Of course, do you think a two-year-old can be as profound as I am? I'll be frank with you, I'm not of this world, for why I arrived in this world I can't tell."
A serious expression appeared on the king's face.
"I see, that makes a lot more sense. You have told me a big secret, aren't you afraid of the consequences?" His tone was a bit more respectful.
"In my short time knowing you I have a pretty good grasp of your character. I know that you won't harm me for two reasons."
"Hoo, please pray and tell."
"First off, you are a man of high morales, you wouldn't retort to underhanded and despicable means. You have your pride and a bottom line.
Also since I'm forthcoming there is no merit in forcing me. The second reason is that you think I might be able to get you out of your predicament.
Now I hope you keep everything a secret, I have told you more than I should, and I hope you can appreciate me exposing myself to such an extent. If you are not the person I think you are then I would be courting death after all."
"Your words have merit. Fine, tell me your conditions, let's make this worthwhile."
"Great." I stroked my beard.
"I will give you five spaceships and other weapons of war. I will train any number of people, they don't need to be gifted in magic or be a knight. Common people will suffice, also you can gather the poor and futureless, I will train them into becoming respectable soldiers. These people will be under your command, for what you do with them is none of my concern.
I want you to acknowledge my Profound Heaven Sect. The territory of the sect grounds should stretch from the northern border to 100 km into the south, I want full autonomy and independence. Julius will act as regent for five years in my territory, I will make him a capable expert that will succeed you."
"This..." The king seemed to hesitate.
"See the bigger picture, your majesty. When Julius inherits the throne it will guarantee that we won't turn against you. Not that I harbor such ill intent in the first place.
I know I demand a lot from you, but in return, I will make it worth it. When I establish my sect I will rival a kingdom with my sect alone. I speak no empty words when I promise something I will see that promise fulfilled. I swear by the heavens, so be at ease."
Complicated emotions surfaced on the king's face. It seemed like he was just a step away from accepting but there was something holding him back.
I stroked my beard in a profound manner.
"I see you hesitate, I can understand your concerns, but you should strike the iron while it's hot."
"Can you really make Julius a mighty expert? I let you know there is a curse placed upon my lineage, with each generation my descendant become weaker. Can you break the curse even my father couldn't lift?"
I raised a brow.
"So you decide to tell me after all. That is the wisest choice of your life thus far. Curse? Is there anything that can withstand my iron will? If I will it, I can destroy any curse as long as it's from a puny mortal.
When I say be, I create wonders, a snort of mine can uproot trees and agitate mother earth. With my right hand, I rebuke the heavens and with my left, I calm down storms."
I snorted and flicked my beard as if questioning my might was a great offense that even heavens couldn't tolerate.
A strange expression appeared on the king and he began to laugh.
"Good, good. I rather hear such an answer than an indecisive one. Maybe you are the only one that can brag in front of me, with you being an ancient expert I shouldn't be surprised of your endless confidence. If you can lift the curse I can agree to everything you demand if it's within my capabilities and is not too unreasonable."
He seemed to believe me to be an ancient expert, if he knew that I was a weeaboo in my former life I wonder how he would react.
"This I wanted to hear."

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!

A-Live AI
The year is 2247. For almost two hundred years Sentient AI research has been banned. Everyone knew this, and yet no one has ever given up on finding the perfect setup for it. Restricted AI are rare, but possible to get ahold of if you have the money and the clout to get through the law for it. Especially when it deals with the military. Alfred Homis is an engineer and has spent the last three years working for the United Terran Military's Research and Exploration Department. Specifically to help build a 'shackled' AI who's prime directive was to explore potentially habitable worlds. Worlds that are far cheaper to colonize and add to the United Terran Directorate's fold than terraforming. During the AI's maiden voyage things go horribly wrong, taking Alfred Homis along for the ride. Thrown into a parallel universe where the laws of physics are just a little messed up, Alfred finds himself trapped inside the very machine he'd helped to build. Add magic, hostile fantasy creatures, and two different pantheons of 'Gods' to the mix and things get even more complicated. Oh, and an invasion between universes to boot. But that's just all in a days work though for Alfred, the AI Lord. Authors Note: Hi guys! Long time no see. And yes, I know that's all on me. But I blame life for that. Anyway, this is my new work, and I hope you guys enjoy it! The chapters are a little shorter than I'd previously posted in my other stories, but I cannot say that I have the same amount of time or energy to write them like that anymore. Sorry about that. Still, some warnings: There is cursing in this story. I am not going to edit it out. There will be sexual content later. Blood, gore and cruel depictions are all planned. If that isn't your thing, I'd suggest you turn back now. There is also my dry, and often not-so-funny sense of humor. And oh, it's all in first person gain. Haha. I just tend to write better that way. If none of that bothers you, then enjoy the read! Feel free to comment, point out mistakes, or make suggestions! Reviews are nice too, but please lay off the criticism until the story gets good and going. Thank you. Note 1: Some edits to the synopsis.
