'I'm missing something.' Zheng observed the terrain hoping to remember something. But nothing came up to his memory.
'Whatever.' Zheng shrugged it off. He picked up the wolf's body and tied it among the rest.
Tightening the vines, Zheng stood up and clapped his hands and said, "Time to go home!"
Zheng continued humming while dragging the dead bodies of the wolves.
"I'm back," Zheng declared as he loosens the vines on his waist. "These things are heavy."
Coming from afar, Gozu ran and arrived in front of Zheng. "Master!"
Gozu hugged him tightly with his enormous body and smiled, "I'm so happy you came back alive!"
Zheng was stupefied. He's not ready about it. "Yes. Please stop, I will surely die if you keep hugging me."
"I'm so-sorry Master!" Gozu's releases his hands with his face paled.
Zheng sighted in relief. He looked at the wolves and said, "Please check these out. Can you do something about them? I'm hungry."
Gozu looks behind his master and his mouth drop open in shocked, "Unbelievable. Yes, Master, I will do my best."
Zheng who was standing still suddenly collapsed on the ground.
"Master!" Gozu restlessly lifted Zheng's body and examined his injury, 'You suffered so much. Fortunately, I had some basic knowledge about first aid.'
He hurriedly carried Zheng inside the straw hut. Then treated his weary body using the wild plants surrounding the village.
Late in the night.
Zheng finally woke up.
He saw the bandages around his body. Especially the deep wound on his shoulder. 'What happened?'
Then, he smells something outside. Heard his stomach growling.
He went outside and saw Gozu cooking something using the fire he lit up.
Zheng asked, "are those Wolf's meat?"

Gozu was shocked when he saw Zheng. He expected Zheng would wake up tomorrow morning based on his initial examination. "Yes master," Gozu replied, "How're your injuries?"
"My shoulder still hurt a little. But everything's fine. Thank you so much."
Gozu smiled, "Eat this for a while. This will help you."
Zheng nodded. He sat beside Gozu and grabs the piece of meat an asked, "You know how to cook?"
"Nope," replied Gozu with his face red. " I just know the basics."
"Ohh. You're too humble. Let's eat. Before the meat become cold."
Zheng bites the meat and his eyes widened in surprise. "So delicious!" Then he put everything on his mouth.
"Really? Do you want some more? We still have plenty of wolf's meat."
"Yes!" Zheng grabs another piece of meat and ate it. "This is the best food ever!"
Gozu saw his master. He smiled and said with teary eyes, "I'm glad you liked it, Master."
Minutes later.
"Burp." A loud noise was heard.
Zheng's stomach was full.
Zheng said, "Thank you for the meal. I really enjoyed it."
Gozu bowed his head, "I'm glad you liked it, Master. Happy to serve you."
Zheng nodded. He stood up and surveyed his surroundings. Then he asked a question, "How's the project going?"
Hearing his Zheng's question, Gozu hurriedly ran inside the straw hut and came back holding a piece of paper.
The layout of the village was drawn on it.
Gozu gave it to Zheng and pointed somewhere on it, "Master, I already finished building the EAST gate. Some minor adjustments and we can start using it. The wooden fence here all the way here was also built."
Zheng was delighted on Gozu's news but Zheng sense that something was amiss on Gozu. So he asked him a question. "Gozu, is there something wrong?"

"About that, the other part of the fence, I can't finish it yet."
Zheng was confused. 'What? I already killed the wolf!'
"Why?" asked Zheng. "I already killed the wolves. There's nothing to worry about."
Gozu remained silent for a while. Then he said to confused Zheng, "While you were resting, I counted that you've killed six wolves."
"Yes, you are correct. I killed all those."
"Master, there are still more wolves lurking around. Based on what I saw, there are nine wolves. There are still three wolves somewhere."
Zheng's mind went blank for a second as some lighting strike struck him.
His hands trembled. He scratched his head in embarrassment. 'Why did I forget that simple thing!? The boss is still alive!'
'So that's the reason why the mission is not over yet!'
Zheng immediately checked the mission status and saw some changes.

'I see.'
Gozu approached the silent Zheng and bowed his head. "I'm so sorry that I forgot to tell you about this matter."
"No worry, it's not your fault. And I can't fight anyways. Let's wait for my injuries to heal."
"But it was my fault that..."
"I said, it's not your fault." Zheng interrupted Gozu. There was an irritation on his face.
"I'm sorry." Gozu bowed his head.
"I'm not angry.", said, Zheng while looking at the sky, "I just don't want to repeat what I said again."
Gozu remained silent and stared at Zheng's back. 'Thank you, Master.'
Minutes later, Zheng bid farewell to Gozu and went inside the straw hut to sleep.
Before Zheng closes his eyes, he recalled Gozu's character information.

No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!
