Carthus turned to look toward the slave housing area. Turning back to Jacob he said, “I will go help your friends with their purchases. I will be back to assist you in a moment.” With that he pushed back his chair, stood, and jogged toward the slave housing area.

Jacob turned toward Hethara, “I was wondering would you…” He was interrupted as she placed a finger upon his lips. She moved his chair away from the table and sat upon his lap, straddling both him and the chair. He was honestly surprised that the chair could take the weight.

Jacob found himself face first in the breasts of Hethara, goddess of love. She pulled back and leaning down she ask him a simple question, “Will I be your one and only goddess so long as we both shall live?” Jacob’s response was short and simple, He proceeded to grope both cheeks of his goddess’ ass and proclaimed, “Yes, and I vow that I will love you till the end of me.”

The world seemed to fade away as Hethara kissed him, all there was, was the bliss of this moment, and then he heard the voice of the system in his mind.

The moment was another perfect one, he wished it could last forever, but as it had previously, all good things must come to an end. So too did this moment come to an end. Hethara dismounted her new cleric, Jacob could not help but stare as she walked the few steps back to her seat.

She sat back down and spoke, “I don’t normally do such a personal inductions into my clergy. Then again, I have never had a champion before, or someone as special as you.” Hethara brought her hands together, her arms stretched outward and down, squeezing her cleavage teasingly, with a bright smile.

The sounds of footsteps could be heard. He turned to see his friends and Carthus accompanied by roughly two dozen slaves and a few of the slave dealers.

Thomas had picked up a few people like himself, those of mixed blood. Archival had found a family of several druids who had been swindled, and when they could not pay back the money, were sold into slavery. He had bought out their contract then tore it up in front of them, formally setting them free, much to their joy.

Hellen had found several elves from varying walks of life, that Hethara had requested she get out of here. Calista had saw fit to buy out some of her fellow rouges who had been caught and thrown into slavery. All of whom now owed her big time.

“Calista what do you intend to do with those roughens?” Calista did not answer her question instead she strode forward, her new entourage following close behind, and stood before Jacob.

“I need your help. I have it on good authority you can tell when people are lying.” Jacob paused for a moment looking over the lot of those behind her, “I can, why have you need of my skills?” Calista smiled, “I need to ask these guys some questions and you will be my lie detector.”

“What’s in it for me?” Jacob asked quizzically. She leaned in close and whispered in his ear, “I am going to make my own thieves guild, help me out and you get 5% of the guild profits.” Jacob’s eyes glazed over for a moment as he imagined how much that could be later down the line if this was a success.

He turned his attention over to Hethara who he suspected had heard everything, only for her to give a shrug of meh. “Go it. You need to find out who among them can be trusted and who cannot.” Jacob announced for all to hear, wanting to hide as little as possible from his team. This also served as a warning for those behind her.

They seemed to stiffen as the thought of being questioned. Most of them appeared as if they had been beaten to within an inch of their lives at one point or another. Each nursing several wounds, black eyes, broken arms, and bruising being visible on them.

Jacob stood up from his chair and walked over to the criminals. All of whom starred at the ground as he approached. Fearing that they might anger him and ruin any chance they had for freedom. Jacob was shown things he had never known when he became Hethara’s champion, and cleric.

Multiclassing in this world had odd effects on what you learned from each class. He had gained only two classes since he had gotten here, but as they interacted new spells and abilities seemed to be created. He retained the knowledge and use of the originals, but he found several variants of many of his skills and spells had been created.

Jacobs hands caught light with pale blue flames, he reached out to grasp the shoulder of one of the rouge Calista was hoping to recruit. The man with a swollen black eye dared not move for fear of a more gruesome death then this. Jacob’s hand grasped the man’s shoulder and the pale blue flames spread outward form his hand. The fire did not burn the man, quite the opposite in fact.

Everywhere the flame touched his wounds and bruises healed. Even his tattered clothes were mended somewhat. Before the rouge knew it, it was done. The flame had swept across his entire body, the pain he had suffered was gone. The others in the room looked at what had just transpired with awe and shock.

“A healing flame? Been a while since someone managed that.” Hethara spoke in a voice of mild interest, mixed with joy and pride. The man who had been healed opened his eyes, both of them. He reached up and touched his face then turned to face Jacob, “Thank you, sir?”

“Jacob is fine. I am not anyone you need to call sir. She is however.” He said as he pointed towards Calista off to his right. “Oh, and one more thing, listen to her and you get heals. If you do not well, use your imagination.” Those that Calista had freed all nodded vigorously.

Jacob spent the next five-minute healing the rest of those Calista had freed.
