You have leveled up X11…
You have obtained the Great Roc Spirit Totem…
Jacob was asleep the longest of those who had fallen. The first to wake up was Hellen, after being asleep for a day. She woke to find her and the rest of her party in a hospital in StoneHearth. Thomas had been by her bedside suspecting correctly she would be the first to awaken.
She looked around the room to find Archival, Calista and Jacob on the other beds in the room. “I carried you all to the carriage and explained to the guard patrol what happened. They rounded up our horses and escorted us to the city. Roc Slayers they are calling us.” Thomas said with a smile.
Hellen looked at him, “What’s it been, 20 years since someone killed a Roc?” Thomas nodded, before presenting a large bag to Hellen. At first, she was confused by this. Further still it was deceptively heavy, though when she shook the bag it gave off no sound other than the mater of the bag moving.
“I don’t get it. What’s with the empty bag and why is it so heavy?” Thomas said nothing preferring to show rather than tell. Taking the bag from her he opened it on her bed. The mouth of the bag being about 2 feet wide, leading to unnatural darkness. Hellen’s eyes widened as she began to realize what this item was.
Thomas reached into the bag farther and farther. Past his wrist and elbow, he should have hit the bed by now, but she felt nothing. Thomas retracted his arm pulling out of the bag a handful of glittering gold coins. “A bag of holding and 1,000 large gold pieces for the dead body of a Roc. Also, I kept a trophy for us.”

Dumping the gold coins back into the bag he once more reached inside. What he pulled from the back stunned Hellen, for it was the severed right foot of the Roc. “How the fuck did you fit that in there?” She asked as she looked at her friend holding up the 8-foot-long foot and foot and a half thick pole that had once been the Roc’s foot. “Butter, and a lot of force.”
The next day Archival and Calista woke up, their bodies aching from the exertion of the fight. Their bodies too seem more muscular than they had been previously.
On the third day Jacob awakened. He awoke from a dream that was more of a memory, the Roc’s memory. Of days spent soaring through the sky and the feeling of freedom that accompanied him as he flew.
He awoke to find Thomas and Hellen faithfully watching over him. He felt a kiss on his lips he knew all to well and heard a voice that was little more than a whisper on the wind. “I’m so proud of you.” He knew the voice to be Hethara’s.
Before Jacob could speak to his friends a third figure walked into the room. From his armor and appearance, he suspected the man was captain of the guard. This suspicion only confirmed a moment later.
“Hello, my name is Alexander. I am the Captain of the guard for StoneHearth.” The captain stopping for a moment to shake Jacob’s hand. “I am told that you are a Totem Master. The first known to possess the class in 600 years.” “I am.”
Nodding he continued, “I am also told that you were a critical part of the slaying of a Roc, the body of which we have recovered. As it is too large to move intact, several merchant are being paid handsome sums of coin to help transport the pieces as it is dismantled.”

Jacob nodded his head, “Yes I was, and that’s smart. Its good that you are using the Body for something and not leaving it to rot.” To which the Alexander nodded, taking the compliment.
“I am happy to have meet you, Jacob was it?” “Yes.” “I will remember your name as a show of my respect for you. Not just any man can slay a Roc.” Jacob notice the captain had only addressed him as the person who killed the Roc.
“I am sorry you are mistaken. Not just any group can kill a Roc. I could not have done it without my friends, and if you proport to respect my acts. You will show them the proper respect they deserve.” The captain looked upon Hellen and Thomas those of his companions who were present at this time.
“I thank you for your great service to this city and her people.” The captain said as he gave a bow to each of them, and then shook their hands. Hellen was somewhat uncomfortable but tolerated the gesture. While Thomas graciously shook the man’s hand squeezing a little tighter than necessary. The captain of the guard began to smile at this.
Alexander bid them farewell and left the room. In the heat of the moment Jacob’s excitement had gotten the better of him, and once more he dreamed of flying.
