《Totem Master: A Spiritual Adventure》Love and Great Swords

Jacob’s mind swum in the endless darkness of his dreamless sleep. Occasionally his mind stirred for a moment before returning to his dark dreamless sleep.
He heard the sound of forest had priorly been absent, birds and insects singing their songs, and the darkness took him. He heard shouting, and the darkness took him.
He was stirred by force from the darkness a blurred face he could not quite make out. He felt a hand upon his face, the head turning and a female voice speaking, “He’s alive…heal him…” Her touch was the warmth of a mother’s love and the crackling of a warm fire all in one. In her care he knew he would be safe.
The paladin in her shimmering plate mail along with her druidic friend looked over the man in strange clothes. The druid after checking him over for a moment proclaimed, “The fucking idiot is suffering from mana exhaustion. Here in this forest of all places! If you ask me, we should leave him, he clearly wanted to die.”
Hellen was about to rebuke his claim when a soft voice filled her ears, one unheard by her adventuring companions. “This man is to be brought to my temple. He is a living miracle. Tell your friend this…” Hellen relayed the message to her friend who after being stunned for a moment promptly began casting fatigue restoration upon Jacob.
His mind faded back to sleep, but the darkness did not take him. He opened his eyes to find himself somewhere new. The room he was in seemed to be the workshop of a blacksmith.
Jacob only knew that because he loved playing D&D with his friends before all he had wound up here. “Hello my child.” Came a warm feminine voice from behind him. Jacob yelped in surprise. He turned to find a women standing in the doorway holding a large blacksmith’s hammer.
Jacob’s worries fell away as soon as they had appeared. This women of obsidian black skin and eyes that resembled the embers of a fire gave him a warm smile. It was the same feeling he had when that person hand touched him.

The woman spoke as her fiery, red, braided hair swung behind her as she walked from the door over to him in the middle of the room. She placed her hammer on a nearby anvil and stretched out her hand.
“I bid you welcome. My name is Hethara the Sunborn. Goddess of the forge, the crafts, and Love, and you are?” Only now did Jacob notice just how tall this women was. She stood a head above him. Her height probably being around 6’5.
“Thank you for the warm welcome. My name is Jacob Ashwin. Its is a genuine pleasure to meet you.” Jacob presented his own smile, and a playful wink to the goddess. Her smile grew even wider, “It has been some time since someone so bold has been here. Please make yourself at home.”
No sooner had she said as such did, she wave her hand and a small wooden chair with a padded seat appeared behind him. He sat down on the surprisingly comfortable chair.
“Now down to business. You have just arrived in our world. I am sorry for that unpleasantness with the Dire lioness. I am very surprised you managed to obtain the Totem Master class. You are the first person to have that class in over 600 years.” The goddess told him.
“It wouldn’t have been my first choice. But I wouldn’t have it any other way now…”
Long did Jacob and Hethara talk, she told him about the world he would be living in now, and when asked if he would be trying to go back, he replied, “Hell no! That world is frankly, Fucked!”
This elicited a hardy laugh from the goddess. “You are by far the most humorous of those who have come from your world, that I have ever met. Just so you know, I’ve meet dozens from your world. You are the first in several years however.”

Jacob’s smile faded for a moment as his hand cupped his chin, in his thought. ‘Other’s have come here before me. How many? Are there any close by?’, “I know you have questions, but I can’t answer them if you don’t say them.” Said Hethara Jacob being shaken from his thoughts by her words.
“You’re a god right, can’t you just read my mind?” Hethara’s smile too lessened as she responded, “I could, but doing that without permission would be rude. Besides, you are my guest I would never do so without asking.”
Jacob eyed Hethara with mild suspicion, curious if she had been reading his mind. However, that suspicion quickly faded as he felt she had no reason to lie to him now. So, Jacob began asking his many questions.
Through their conversation he learned that the world he was on was named Zykadia. The women he had seen while he lied on the ground was one of Hethara’s paladin’s and her adventuring party. His body was being moved to the nearest city and would be safe in their care.
All too soon their time had run out and so Hethara opened the door for Jacob to leave he stood beside her and boldly groped her ass. The goddess was surprised to say the least. The fire and coals burning in the forge had the light they emitted grow in intensity for a moment before settling down once more.
Hethara look down upon Jacob with a toothy grin and eyes that almost asked for another. “Oh, you are a wild one…Oh I hate to ask this but please let go.” Jacob kindly obliged her request.
No sooner had he done this however did the goddess leaned down and grabbed him by his collar. She brought her face to his and kissed him full on the lips, for that moment there was only bliss. That moment seemed to hang for eternity, he never wanted it to end, but all good things must end as did this kiss.
“I will keep a very special eye on you.” She said with a smile as she let him go. She ran her fingers through her hair to get everything settled back into place. Her expression took a somewhat more serious tone, “Be careful I won’t be the only one watching you now.”
Jacob shook off the feeling of being stunned and nodded. Thanking her for the warning he gave one last wink goodbye and said, “Let us get together again sometime. How about it?” Hethara smiled, “It’s a date.” Her body seemed to give off a glow from the joy. He could see why she was Sunborn.
Jacob walked through the white doorway. Hethara touching her lips, reviling in the bliss of that moment. Though she was the goddess of love few sought her out, thinking she would be taken already. He treated her with respect, he was not afraid of her even if she stood a head above him. Her kind of man.
The world was white as he felt himself lying down in a comfortable, if somewhat itchy bed. The bright whiteness of the world resolving itself as his eyes came into focus.
There by his bedside in what appeared to be a small single bedroom home, was the paladin women who had found him. She was sitting on a chair with her great sword planted into the dirt floor of the home and her head drooped, clearly sleeping. ‘Hellen was her name.’ Jacob thought.

Seeker
The Gods are dead As they bled dry, so did the magic which gave them birth. In the new era of technology, its pathetic remnants must hide in the shadows or be locked away. In the ancient era of magic two beings often stood out: Galileo, an immortal scholar obsessed with knowledge and Angelica, the most loyal servant of the greatest among the now dead Gods. But why are they worthy of mention? Because after millennia of isolation, the two emerge in the new world beyond their reckoning. The entire story is told from the third person, however, each chapter will be told from the perspective of only one of the characters. This will be signified by the first letter of their names after the chapter number to avoid confusion. I submitted this fiction as a [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] as well as a participant in National Novel Writing Month. The original challenge had been to finish this entire faction within the month of November reaching the 55.5k word minimum. This goal had been achieved. I do not own the cover picture

The Queen's Guard
Friedrich Schreiner is a proud gefreiter of the Queen's Guard, 2nd Company: the finest fighting infantry on the continent (barring the Temple Guard; but please don't bring that up). Service is honourable but, with the Empire on a peacetime footing, terribly boring. Affairs take a dramatic turn for the worse when a mysterious invader uses a forgotten and taboo magical means to breach the capital, plunging the nation into chaos and endangering the royal family. With events spiraling out of control, Friedrich is entrusted with a critical mission. Will hot lead, cold steel, and his determination be enough to see him through? The Queen's Guard is what I'm calling a black powder fantasy story: it's set in a loose equivalent of the early 18th century (plus or minus a few pieces I decided I wanted or didn't want). Magic exists, but not in a spell-slinging sort of way: it's Earth-shaking undertakings or minor enchantments forged in by master craftsmen, the grand working of a secretive cabal or a slight nudge to the course of a blow. I, the eternal optimist, have a full trilogy in mind. The first book is The Prince's Arquebusier, hence the cover and the title disagreeing! This is my shot at 2021's NaNoWriMo and RR Writathon! I've hitherto been terrible at writing long-form fiction, so this is an effort to break out of that by having some accountability in being supposed to post chapters regularly. Here's hoping it works! I have an outline, but not too much detail. I'll do my best to avoid continuity errors, doing anything glaringly stupid, or otherwise fluffing my lines, but I can't make any promises on that. Please do let me know any feedback! Always happy to improve. [participant in the Nov 2021 Royal Road Writathon challenge]
