Jordan looked over the survivors that were under him, some looked a bit displeased when Jordan compared them to slaves but seeing the execution they didn't dare to object.

"the rules will be simple, mostly eye for an eye or the victim will be paid off any amount of money the victim chooses, there is one catch though, for a non-serious crime this rule will only apply to those of same standing, if you are forced laborer it will be applied only for death, sexual abuse and nothing more "

"as for standing I am on top always will be and I stand above the law, you have now become forced workers for a month, you can only get food and shelter, once you paid off your debt you can become free, when you are free you can stay and earn contribution points or you can leave but be warned when you leave you will be considered enemy, I won´t be stopping you but I won´t be welcoming you back, anyone who leaves and returns will be considered a spy and will be forced to go through another round of forced labor, you will be able to leave only on planned missions or if you apply for approval"

"I know you have families and you can form a group that will visit other camps to look for them but that will be only under supervision, also once you are free you can through the contribution points buy citizenship or whatever we will call it, this is, for now, the highest position, you will be able to buy a house, lead other forced workers or those that are free and also you will be enabled to buy potions to awaken your center of power, also no one will be able to simply kill you, even I will have to have reason to go after you"

This time there was a big reaction from the survivors and murmurs erupted everywhere.

"the contribution points will be sort of currency, for now, I will present more options you can exchange them for, and as for how you will earn the points, it would be by simply working, fighting rogue beasts, just doing any work you are assigned but the amount you earn will depend on the difficulty"

"Those that come here to trade or just will be passing will fall under other rules, also any new newcomer will be going through the month of forced labor, even if they come from their free will to join, only if they provide something worth of month´s work can they became free"

"is that clear?", some of the survivors were nodding and some were softly saying "yes, yes"

Hearing the weak response Jordan shouted "IS THAT CLEAR? SAY YES OR NO"

This time all the survivors shouted as one "YES", hearing that Jordan was finally satisfied "good, tonight I want the leader to be chosen and tomorrow you will start working, that is all for now, you can return to the hall"

Slowly the survivors returned to the hall in the fortress, Jordan meanwhile collected the dead bodies and went back to the library, he needs to eat the centers of power from the leader, Jordan can´t ignore perfectly fine second circle brain and while he is at it he will eat the heart as well.

From the enemy group, there was only one with an awakened center of power besides the leader and the center was heart in the first rank, Jordan didn't bother with this one and just threw the corpse to his beasts that fought for a bit over it and then one won and started eating it.

Several of the phase one beasts showed signs of evolution to the second phase which made Jordan very happy but one thing was even better, that was Max who was the beasts with ice and wind elements, Max recently started to rapidly grow and showed an increase in strength.

Soon when Max evolves Jordan will finally have a beast he can ride on, due to Sunny´s body he makes a terrible mount, mostly because he is as slow as first phase beasts.

That may be because of the earth element he has which seems to affect the body structure as well, Sunny has much harder and denser body than he should have but he is also slower and the flames that sometimes erupted from his body were bit dangerous

Max on the other side has a nice cooling breeze around him, ´ride with AC, never thought that it will be possible again´ as for Max´s speed it´s exceptional, the wind element makes him swift and fast, right now he is the fastest beast under Jordan and Jordan thinks that Max can easily reach the speed around 70 km/h (44 mph)

As for Jordan, he is a bit faster than first phase beasts, which is already quite incredible, if you compare some peak athlete to a dog in a sprint, the athlete will lose, a long-range run may be different but that isn't the concern now if you just shorten it Jordan is fast as heck and he already broken through the wall of what should be humanly possible.

In the library, Jordan cracked open the head of the now-dead leader and while he was at it he ripped his heart out as well, Jordan stared at the two mana organs and felt a bit of disgust rising in him, if possible he didn't want to do that but he can´t afford to waste second circle brain right now and when Jordan reaches the third circle with his mana organ he will have to buy some technique to increase mana capacity so then he can give the bodies to his beasts, right now though any increase in strength can save his life in the next battle.

Without further ado, Jordan ate both the heart and brain, this time it went much easier and the instincts that were forcing Jordan to puke before did not show themselves, with the organs eaten Jordan waited.

First, it was the heart that got digested, and bits of warm energy formed around Jordan´s second heart, as always to effectively use the energy he will have to exercise while sending bits of the energy to his body, with how strong Jordan´s body already was the second rank heart was no big deal but it still counts, also for the body it continues to improve even though it reached the third rank that is supposed to be reached naturally by aging for demons of Jordan´s species, the body can increase its strength without any particular technique but without the technique, the progress is noticeably slower.

The same goes for normal humans, with the mana the limits of the human body were broken, and it's possible to reach high body rank without the mana organ, its just that it would take much much longer.

Sadly there is a limit that goes for mana capacity/purity, mana capacity/purity can´t be increased naturally only by techniques or by the nature of the species, also the center of power is connected to the increase of body strength, if Jordan doesn't improve his center of power his increase in strength will stagger, that is because his center of power won´t be able to fuel his body, Jordan doesn´t need food anymore but still requires energy as all living beings and this energy comes from mana that his center of power provides and the stronger his body the bigger amount of energy is needed.

Jordan stood on his hands and started to move up and down only with his arms, this is a simple training method Jordan came up with because of the lack of weights and because he doesn't want to destroy walls every time, time went by and Jordan digested the heart and used all the energy, no noticeable increase in power but Jordan was satisfied even with small steps.

Strangely enough, the mana from the brain was still sitting in his stomach, the brain got digested but the mana settled in Jordan´s stomach and didn't move at all, Jordan didn't know what to do and didn't want to poke it and possibly endanger himself so for now, he just decided to let it be.

Jordan had still several hours before the survivors chose their representative, so he focused on the shield spell for the rest of the afternoon.

The shield spell is proven to be harder to construct than Jordan though before he could even start creating the circle spell he had to first try it out with his will alone, he manipulated his mana and tried to discover how to form the spell so he knows what to write in the circle.

Jordan experimented with raw mana and tried forming solid hexagons, just the very act of making mana solid proved to be a problem, and making the solid mana take shape was even harder, like that the rest of the afternoon went by and when the sun started setting Jordan stopped practicing.

It was time to get to know the new representative of the humans that will be working under Jordan.
